Accent European Lounge Ratings and Reviews
A cute place. We used a deal off yelp nd we’re quite excited to try this restaurant after reading all the reviews! We had the spicy shrimp to start. It was extremely bland. There was no flavour except that of the shrimp. I wanted to ask for salt. To add anything to them. I had the Lobster wrapped bacon. Again the cream sauce on top was bland. I believe it was a Hollandaise. It tasted like air. I should add that everything was cooked perfectly!! It was just lacking in flavour. My BF has the salmon. It was good but the noodles it came with with just tossed in olive oil. So bland again. A nice rose sauce would have added to it perfect. I will definitely try this again and hope the cooks just had a busy night. It was also pretty tight quarters with. Cozy feel. Staff was attentive and great. I asked what kind of coffee they served and the server told me nothing exciting. They got it from Costco. That was too bad they didn’thave a great cup of coffee to come me the night.
First time at this restaurant so we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by the food, service and ambiance. Large portions of tasty food. A complete meal with lots of veggies and sides which were cooked perfectly. The waitress was very friendly and we really enjoyed our experience. As a good cook myself, this is high praise coming from me as I am usually disappointed in restaurant food. Left one star on the 'overall' because there is always room for improvement with any business. Well done accent lounge. We'll be back.
After making a reservation through Open Table, which was accepted, my guest and I arrived approximately 15 minutes early.
A male server addressed us and put us at a table that was directly where draft from the door caused a cold wind. I saw other patrons with their coats on, I decided to do the same. I asked the male server to be moved to a table that was away from the door, where he was cleaning a table for two. He stated that there was a large group coming in which the table was included.
Shortly afterward, a female server seated two people at the table I requested.
I watched how the male server had put persons from one table to another.
There was another table open, not related to the large group, open. This was not offered.
The food was okay to eat. The curry was tasteful. The mushroom mashed potato was bland.
The dessert was tasteful.
The female server did speak with the owner. The owner gave us the dessert for free.
I was treated by the male server like my patronage was not wanted and the service I received, for the most part, showed that we were not wanted for the most part.
We'd been to Accent before and liked it, but this time was not so good. The main course steak was very small. The pork schnitzel had a very long hair baked into the coating. Yech! The service was okay, but not great....a bit slow even though the place wasn't very busy. Normally, the food is better than average, but considering the price (high), the latest visit was a disappointment.
This is one of my favorite restaurants so I was quite disappointed at the very long wait before we were acknowledged and served. Seeing as the four of us had a reservation and it was busy but not packed, I felt that was unacceptable. When we did finally order, the wine we asked for was not available and the suggested replacement was quite a bit more expensive although it was good. The food was delicious as usual and very good value for the money.
Came down to Accent for a night out in Old Strathcona during the Fringe festival! Sat on their charming patio and sampled from their $8 Tuesday cocktail menu. We shared some starters while we people watched. Service is friendly and quick, great night!!! Thanks!
We have been to Accent before and our visit coincided with certain refurbishment still being carried out. However we were looked after very well and the four of us had a very convivial evening. Food was very good and I always believe that a limited menu works very well. We also benefitted from the wine being 50% of normal prices. All in all a great evening.
Only one server on a Sunday night with only three tables with customers, we have to wait over half an hour to order our food. Waited another half hour for one drink. They make up their price as it goes, they charge $14 for a glass of rosé that's not on the menu while I can get a bottle for $15 . The food wasn't bad but the menu is not the same as the app shows, minus a point, washroom set up was like a trap someone is bound to fall down by going to it.
Ordered the steak tartare and smoked salmon for a date night. Food was delicious. Both of us tried to order drinks, but we had to try to order drinks 3 times as each beer we wanted was not in stock. We finally settled for a beer they actually had. That was the only annoying thing during our visit that day.
It is always wonderful to come to the comfort of Accent Lounge. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to make suggestion. She was attentive, without being intrusive. As always, the food was first rate. Guy behind the bar seemed a little bored, but that was likely because it was not that busy. June /17 still undergoing renovations so not up to full steam yet.
We visited Accent Lounge for "Paint Nite", which they host every other Monday. It is a beautiful, small and elegantly modern room with a touch of an old world feel.
The service was fantastic. Our waitress was quick and pleasant and very accommodating. It was refreshing to be served by a real person, and not a corporate clone. She worked the whole room herself and we paid attention to how well she greeted new guests and kept up the pace.
We shared a few small plates, just pomme frites and bruschetta. I had eaten at Accent many times and the food it always great, however this time we had dinner at home prior to coming out, so just snacks for us!
Can't fault this place, love to support local.
