We love Accanto. We have eaten brunch, lunch and dinner here over many months. Every meal has been exceptional. The pasta dishes are carefully crafted and flavorful. We believe this is the best Italian restaurant in Portland
I've been here about five or six times, and it has always been very good. The goat cheese gnocchi was probably the best thing I've eaten in the past year. The space is really nice, service is always solid, and you can tell they use really good ingredients, and care about the preparation and presentation. If I had more money, I'd eat here much more often.
Great food and drink (we had brunch). Service was excellent—very accommodating.
This restaurant scores high on all facets of dining. Creative dishes that are well prepared and satisfying. Great service and a comfortable vibe.
Sunday Brunch for Mother’s Day, excellent as usual, one of my sons and my favorite places.
Great service, amazing food and drink. Will come back again!
Not sure why, but it took about 30 minutes for our main courses to come after we had finished our appetizers. No obvious reason, and no apologies or comments from the staff. We weren’t in a rush, but it was a bummer. Otherwise, it was fine and our aervicperson was pleasant.
Accanto prepares great food showcasing lots of local, fresh ingredients. They offer creative and well-balanced cocktails and a good assortment of foreign and domestic wines. We feel we got a lot out of our experience thanks to the knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. I had black squid ink spaghetti that was zesty and very fresh. And our server recommended just the right wine to pair with it. The cheese plate with house made crackers was also excellent. Accanto is perfect for a special occasion, or if you just want a casual cocktail and shared appetizer. We love this place and look forward to seeing what appears on their summer menu.
Our meal was delayed by a backup in the kitchen but when it arrived it was clear it was well worth waiting for. Terrific pasta dishes followed by the best Panna cotta ever. And the front of the house did what they could to compensate for the long wait.
We had a great time.
After a wonderful weekend visiting my daughter we had a quick bite at Accanto before heading to the airport. It was amazing... all I can say is a definite stop next visit! Our bartender was so knowledgeable explaining every little detail in our dishes and wines. We started with the burrata, the olives were wonderful, lumache was so tasty my favorite and the one dish I will be thinking about until I return is the black trumpets and yellow foot mushrooms- real comfort food on a daily Portland night.
Sampled most of the menu as a family-style dining experience. Our dining guests really enjoyed the meal and the attentive service. All the dishes we tried were quite tasty - can’t go wrong w/ Accanto.
We had a birthday brunch and the staff was wonderful - attentive, quick - and the food was amazing. Always recommend for a brunch date or a big party!
Food is wonderful, but very pork forward, so if that is not your thing (pancetta, cured meats, etc, go elsewhere. Service and staff extremely nice. I want to check out their brunch which has a more non- pork menu. Desserts look yummy but we were full
Celebrated my birthday with family. The food and service were excellent as usual!!!
This was our first time at Accanto since their new chef joined. The menu was fascinating, filled with seductive alternatives and brimming with options that reflect the Spring season. We enjoyed both salads and both mains.
It is always a delight to dine at Accanto. This restaurant is not in our neighborhood but I wish it were! The service is friendly and attentive, the dishes are interesting and delicious, and it can make a regular Wednesday night in mid-April something special! Thanks again for being consistently wonderful.
Just great. Great server, great food, great company. Voila!
Took my sister here. Food was very good! Rich, but delicious. Server was pleasant but took awhile to welcome us and was not able to recommend a wine. Would definitely go again. Fun vibe!
Exceeded my expectations! The food was absolutely delicious with an appropriate price point and our waiter was very knowledge, friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Accanto!
We were very pleased with our dinners and glad to find that what has for years been one of our favorite restaurants has now regained its footing under the new chef. The last time we went--about two months ago--service was spotty, our dinners were somewhat disappointing, and the noise level deafening. We weren't anxious to go back. This time it had all the qualities that have made us return over and over. Service was excellent, our fritto misto was perfect--Golden and crisp and with lots of calamari--and our pastas--we both had the tagliatelle--were tender and beautifully sauced. The wine choices are always excellent. And our favorite waiter was there and greeted us like friends. So it seems that Accanto is back on a steady course of deliciousness and hospitality and we will be back soon!
Great brunch! Fritters were the best I’ve had in a very long time (I’ll be going back for them alone!). Brunch menu had plenty of options.
Really love Accanto’s food and environment and the incredibly friendly and attentive service.
Wonderfully prepared foods and the flavors were exceptional. They certainly know what they re doing at Acanto...keep up the great work!!
Food was high quality but detected too much mint in my lamb and gnocchi. Service was outstanding!
Wonderful food and service; plates perfectly sized to shre
Good food. Good service. Very odd acoustics in back room.
Portions were small for the price. The Cesar salad, in my opinion was way to fishy smelling and tasting.
I love the food at Accanto, but the beautiful presentation is my favorite part! Each plate is a delicious work of art.
Amazing! great family night
We went for Portland Dining Month. Really good food and nice atmosphere. Perfect for a casual date night.
Excellent service. Attentive, but not overbearing. Helpful with menu items. Food served promptly, as advertised, presented nicely. Portions a tad small for me, but just right for my partner. Quality of meal was excellent, tasty, served at proper temperature and as advertised on menu and by staff.
Great time and food
The waiter was very rude. We arrive early and met a friend for a drink at the bar. We ask if they good fit third person and he immediately said NO before the question was out of my boss's mouth. Oddly when we were seated we noted a 4 top table next us that never filled and when they did fill it was with a couple. There were several open tables in the restaurant. Next when I asked the waiter to explain the prix fixe menu he indicated it was 'already self explanatory'. When I asked the server about the type of meat he looked incredulously at me and said, "It is goat leg!"---like I should be so silly not to know. Food was good but staff was not welcoming or accommodating.
Accanto has a new chef, showing off a little bit with goat cheese gnocchi with a sauce made with goat, absolutely delicious. The menu is small here, but the food is delicious and presented handsomely. I used to eat here regularly, but that has been 4 years or more, and the front-end staff are the same people! The friendly familiarity is comforting.
Really wonderful food and wonderful service! Only detraction was very close seating of another party within arms length of our table.
I have been an Accanto fan for many years... the food is great. The service is incomparable and the vibe is very positive. What more can I say? Visit Accanto; you'll love it.
The food was excellent. The service was slow, but all the better for visiting. It was too noisy, but the waitress did turn the music down, thank you.
Went here for Portland Dining Month and we were not disappointed. Nice space with good ambiance and it wasn’t too noisy to have a conversation. The wait staff was attentive and very friendly, as well as helpful with the menu. The three courses we had were all delicious and everyone left feeling contented. Would definitely return here. The only downside, as with most Italian places, is the overpriced wine menu. Italian wines are not costly, except in a good restaurant. Overall great place!
