Accanto is our goto place to meet friends for brunch. And the menu is always changing so it never gets old. Even the standard dishes change in their details. Get the Benedict!

Hopefully, you will keep popular entrees on the menu. I would drive miles to enjoy your amazing pork chop, the original Arugula salad and Poke. Your salad that had root veggie with a creamed goat cheese was one of the finest salads I've ever had.
We are regulars at approximately $60/person.

We enjoyed an excellent fritto misto and inventive Caesar salad (with plump mackerel bits), plus Ken's excellent artisan breads before our main course--and these would have sufficed for quantity. My entree was squid ink pasta, which was flavorful, but I felt the sauce overwhelmed the pasta, which was spaghetti. My companion very much enjoyed his entree of pasta with pork ribs, which reminded him of papardelle with boar sauce. The entrees were few, and those who are looking for fish or non-meat entrees would probably be disappointed. Pleasant service and cozy neighborhood atmosphere, along with well-prepared dishes, make this a fine choice for dinner.

We go to Accanto often. The food is always delicious. This time we both had a delicata squash soup that was divine. Shared the roasted cauliflower. Chicken thigh entrée was light but very tasty. Pasta with pork Bolognese sauce was delicious as always. Great place for a relaxed evening.

We went to try the new chef's cuisine. Unfortunately, the menu had not changed much since I was there a month ago or so (before he came on board). This time, they were light on the calamari and shrimp when we ordered the Misto; our friend complained that the fish she ordered was dry. I enjoyed my polenta and house made pork sausage. Guess I will wait a few months to see what the new chef has to offer.

I don't normally write negative reviews, because I feel it hurts the hard working people that work in the restaurant. I also feel most of the problems in a restaurant are the fault of management and not the wait staff. First, a good thing, the food was great! But, it was a 3 hour saga. It is not necessary to explain to customers your current litigation with Taylor Railworks, or that the chef is new, or that the restaurant is busy. Congrats, you have a successful place! Not every restaurant has this problem. They comped us an entree at the end, which we thought was a very nice gesture. But 2.5 hours for pasta was a bit long. We got scolded for asking why the wait. Also, not so good. Both tables on either side of us left without eating at all. They just gave up. This is a super successful restaurant, so I feel they will be fine. If you go, be patient, because sometimes a canto get your food so fast!

Unfortunately our experience started off poorly. It took ages for us to receive our drinks, mine first then my partners as his was forgotten. But the wine suggestions and samples were very nice and also caused us to choose a great rose which we might not have. Good food and you can talk as its not oppressively loud. We'd go back.

Took my mother to Sunday brunch and it was delicious - they even down-sized her portion of French toast to accommodate her smaller appetite. There was a poached egg on nearly every entree' including polenta and pasta.

We are regulars at Accanto and it is one of our favorite restaurants! The quality of the food was excellent, as always. The portions, however, were markedly reduced from previously. I know there is a new chef and this could be why. I am hoping that the previous combined good value and good quality will return.

Thank you for reviewing!

A certain menu item made me want to go to brunch at Accanto, but that item was not available that morning. My second choice was okay though and the ricotta donuts were really good.

The food is good but I asked for a "quiet table in the back," not realizing that the back has a low non-porous ceiling and is very loud. This was compounded by a 4-top next to us featuring 2 tall deep-voiced guys who needed to shout about their golfing triumphs in their loudest voices. My friend and I stood it as long as we could (conversation was impossible) and had our entrees boxed up and took them home.

We love Accanto! We've always had a great meal with great service. The Frito Misto is a favorite of ours. We had the arugula salad which was delicious as was the soup. My husbands' pasta was a bit spicier than he expected, and they offered to replace. It was delicious! The wine choices were excellent and our server was very helpful in choosing a wine to complement out meals.

I liked the little details that the Chef incorporated into the food at Accanto. We had the frito misto and it was brought out hot and crisp. This was so delicious, like you could eat this all night long good. Also, the crostini special was very good. I think you could really make a meal out of the the great starters. Next, the bolonese pasta. So tender and tasty. Enough to share. Finally, we had the chicken dish. The flavor was amazing. The brine really makes the difference. Unfortunately, by then, we were pretty filled up.

Linda, our server was always present without being intrusive. She was very friendly and professional. I do recommend Accanto to anyone looking to have a wonderful dining experience, great flavors and friendly service.

A bit surprised at how high the other ratings were. Food was good, but not spectacular. Waiter was surly and even when asked, didn't explain the menu and what ingredients were in various dishes. Good, but not great, I guess, is the bottom line

The donuts, of course, are a ‘must.’ The service was superb, and the potatoes were perfect. I enjoyed their Bloody Mary and was pleasantly satisfied with the egg dishes. After several visits over the years, it remains as a reliable favorite for Sunday Brunch!

Very yummy Italian. Not a big menu, but what we ordered was delicious. I had the special, spaghetti and meatballs. Tasty! The only downside is I'm semi-allergic to pepper and there was much in the dish. Partner had TAGLIATELLE con MAIALE 17. Very good! Drinks were terrific and dessert (chocolate huckleberry gelato) were both superb. All in all, a very good experience, both for the food and drinks, but the overall evening.

We had a 12:30 reservation for brunch and were seated quickly. We ordered our drinks and food within ten minutes of sitting down. Our waitress was extremely nice and efficient. Even bringing ample lemons for my ice tea when I said "a ton please!"
We started with celery soup. Before the soup came I said to my husband since it had been a pretty long time. "I hope they bring the soup first and not all of it together." Our soup arrived after about 20 minutes and it was delicious. Fresh and full of celery flavor. Great start to the brunch.
Then things went downhill. We proceeded to sit there while ALL the tables around us(all who had sat way after us) got their food AND finished there meals. At this point we had been at the restaurant for 50 minutes. The waitress said our ticket was up next. Which meant they hadn't even started it? We watched as three more tables got served at which point we lost patience. We told the waitress to close us out and we were going to leave. Her response was " well it's a full restaurant and your soup cane out quickly. ". No excuse for having to wait a full 30 minutes after our soup and still have nothing to eat.
Add insult to injury, the charged us the $11 for the soup and our teas. Not that comping anything at that point would have helped.
Truly disappointed with the experience. We have been here a few times before and really enjoyed the food but with the Portland food scene being as diverse and prolific as it is, we will take Accanto off our list.

We dine here more often than at any other restaurant, in part because of the friendly welcoming atmosphere and the intimate size. The staff is great. We always start with the fritto misto--theirs is so light and fresh, with plenty of calamari and fennel and shrimp. We usually order pasta and are almost always very pleased. This time we had the pizzoccheri (buckwheat pasta) and the lumache with Merguez sausage, both very good. We shared a scoop of plum gelato, and that was a bit disappointing. It was basically a sweet cream gelato with shards of yellow plum stuck in it, and the fruit was quite frozen; basically it neither looked nor tasted much like plum, though it was pleasant enough. One of the staff asked us how we liked it, and we said it was not what we expected, and he immediately said he would comp us dessert. Though we said that was not at all necessary, he insisted, saying he knew we were regulars and wanted us to always be satisfied. Now that is a nice gesture, and much appreciated. The wine selection is excellent. We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so!

Wife and I had an outstanding dinner. Ate outside since it was the last warm day expected for a week. Traffic outside wasn't too noisy. Arugula salad was well dressed and tasty. The Tagliatelle con Maiale was delicious. Would order it again and again. Cocktails and wine also good.
