Such a classy place! The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We were celebrating a birthday and they made sure to include that throughout the evening.

I would like to start off saying that I love this place. Food was fantastic, ambiance great, and service was the best. What bothered me immensely was having a wonderful experience and watching a small group of people walk in, two of them wearing sweats. Granted there is money behind those sweats, but there is also money behind a suit. I’ve been to the best around the world, and the best would not permit such attire. It’s a disrespect to the establishment, to the chef’s, and to the other guests in the restaurant. As an example, I saw Mr. Charlie Trotter (RIP) come out of the kitchen and excuse a group from his restaurant for improper attire. I believe that to be right, otherwise don’t have a dress code and allow the backward baseball hats and cut off shorts.
As a positive, the food was fantastic in addition to the wine pairing. I’d love to go on and on about this restaurant but the above killed the experience. Don’t label yourself as premier fine dining experience (or charge a fee for reservations) if one will be subjected to optional rules/attire. I’m a young guy but old school in respect. Many restaurants are trending toward these “exceptions,” but I unfortunately will not be until they abide by their own rules.

An outstanding experience. When operate at this level, every detail should be managed and perfect. We patronize high end restaurants around the country, and this is definitely in the top 5 in our book.

Great service, nice cocktails. But the seven courses meal? I’m not very impressed. The only thing I love is the lobster. For its price and reputation I’m very disappointed.

Unassuming from the outside, but beautifully simple and modern inside. Hosts are friendly and very knowledgeable about both the food and wine. We were sat at a table which had what initially looked like a woodsy centerpiece of branches and moss. But then you realize you initial bites are on the branches. From there on the service is done in concert by the servers and each plate is delivered and removed together with a detailed description of the courses. All dishes were paired with uniquely selected wines. Every one was just enough to enjoy the flavor profile, but not overfilling. A wonderful experience that left us sated and relaxed.

Every weekend my husband and I love to try tasting menus at upscale restaraunts. Acadia being a 2 star Michelin rated restaraunt we figured it would be delicious. Unfortunately, we couldn't have been more disappointed.

Food:
While there was GREAT flavor... every single piece of meat and fish was BEYOND over cooked and I typically order my meat well-done. However, the scallop, Wagyu beef, duck breast, and octopus were so chewy I had to turn away my octopus as I almost choked on a small piece. The lobster trail was the only thing not over cooked (but it had a thick bloody vein running through its back which leaked all over my dish). I would love to give the chef the benefit of the doubt because there were 2 moments while dining when it smelled like something was severely on fire in the kitchen. If that was our food I really wish they would have remade the dish. I had brought my concerns to 2 servers at which both responded with, "I will bring it to the Chef's attention". Neither of which returned with a response.

There were a few things that I did enjoy. The hot cocoa with a marshmallow was ABSOLUTELY delicious, I'd buy some by the pallet! The macaron was perfect. The single brussel sprout left me wanting more. The tapioca with champagne bubbles was so good.

Service:
The servers moved and operated like something out of the movies. Almost a Men In Black and Matrix feel. It was definitely a unique experience with no complaints. They really were terrific.

***After reaching out to the new Manager and just giving my feedback she later emailed me with a nice apology and a small credit to cover the cost of our drinks. This was very kind as I have read some previous reviews with arrogant responses from the "owner". Come to find out they were likely from the previous restaraunt manager. I foresee the new Manager doing great things for Acadia.

Not being used to dining at this level, we were absolutely astounded with the service, food, and wine pairings. We also recommend the bar area for an informal date night, which we do frequently. But highly suggest going "behind the curtain" for an incredible experience.

Our experience at Acadia was fantastic. We were there to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and the night went perfectly. The food was delicious and service was excellent. The sommelier recommended us a great bottle of wine and helped walk us through our choices to arrive at the best choice. The restaurant also kindly gave us a small birthday cake item as a takeaway.

Our family came here for my daughter's Sweet 16 birthday dinner. The tasting menu was delicious... so flavorful and inventive. We had a team of knowledgeable servers, and our principal person, Michael, was truly a step above. He patiently explained the subtlety of all the food and wine to us, even sharing how bubbles are created in champagne. Michael truly helped elevate our meal at Acadia to be a memory we'll always remember.

As a special treat for my daughter's birthday, the team at Acadia also had a special, extra course prepared for us in the kitchen, where another server explained how the kitchen operates. We also had a chance to speak to and take a picture with Executive Chef Ryan McCaskey. I've been to other 2 and 3 Michelin star restaurants in Chicago, New York and other cities. Acadia is certainly worthy of their 2 stars, and from our experience, is actually even better than a couple 3 Michelin star restaurants we've had the chance to go to. Great job to the entire Acadia team.

The overall dinner was great, very attentive servers . The food was good the first few courses. The lobster pot looked amazing, but the bisque was so salty that it took away the flavor of the lobster (which was cooked perfectly). The one thing I was disappointed most was the fact that our server did not mention about the foie gras options which I was more than happy to pay extra for. I did mentioned it when he brought out the lobster pot pie and he said "pot pie was better and that the foie gras was coming". I was shocked when they started to send out the desserts. I was very disappointed, I choice this place because he had a foie gras option. Beside that it was a good dinner.

I normally rave restaurants like Acadia, but this time I won't. I brought my mother for a special dinner date hoping to wow her with a fancy meal-- only to face the disappointment of being served previously frozen duck(asked the waiter, and he more or less confirmed it) and A5 beef that did not taste the part.

Normally this would be alright. The food was still delicious and the service was fantastic. However, this is a two-michelin star restaurant. I don't feel it's unreasonable to expect perfection. Looking back, I should have been more visibly upset by what happened. I did not pay to eat frozen food. I could have done that at home, without spending > 200$/person.

Fantastic meal and first rate service. The wine pairing was one of the best matching we’ve experienced across multiple restaurants. The “lobster pot pie” was superb and was the foie gras supplement to their pre fixed menu.

The food portions are extremely small. I did the wine pairing with dinner. The amount of wine was generous. However, due to the small portions of food I had to quit drinking because I was getting tipsy. My husband got home and ate a lunchable. I fed my daughter pasta and ate what she didn’t finish. Our bill with 21% gratuity was $740. My husband’s boss treated us to $500 for dinner. The $240 we paid wasn’t worth it.

Some other michelin places in Chicago are clearly overrated when compared to Acadia.

It should be on the "must-do" list.

Dined at the last seating on New Year's Eve. It was the priciest among a few well know high end venues. I decided to try it out for their eight course menu and a night full of "many entertainers" throughout the New Year's Eve event. THIS WAS MY WORST NEW YEAR'S EVE DINING EXPERIENCE! The food was sub par, the service was amateurish, and the restaurant design looked like my alcoholic uncle's basement after a super bowl party. The bartender's had no decorum and their drinks tasted like they missed Chapter one in their bartender's for dummies guide.

What was the night cap, you ask? After our wonderful dinning experience was over they told everyone they had to stand in front of the restaurant (gave us our coats- because was the coat service was closing up- of course) and we waited while they converted the restaurant into an after party event space. Really??!!

And, by the way, their many entertainers consisted of a wannabe Mick Jagger impersonator, one Blondie impersonator who did not sing or look like Blondie, and 80 yr old woman with a head tattoo (to be honest, she was kind of fun).

Location is in the south loop of Chicago. The front of the restaurant has small bar and place where you can have late night eats and drinks. We opted to have the tasting menu with wine pairings in the main dining hall. We were seated right away. However, we sat and sat for about 10 minutes without anyone greeting us at our table. I thought this was odd given the status of being Michelin restaurant. Kind of started the night off on the wrong foot. Evening improved from there. Waiter apologized. Food was amazing and so were the wine pairings. Afterwards, they took us into the kitchen for quick tour and photo op. Next time I will try their famous burger and cocktails on their late night dining menu.
