Acacia is a wonderful restaurant. It is a chef-owner restaurant. Menu is good - broad and varies with the season. Food is very good and locally sourced. Service is very good.
Once again, a very enjoyable meal; with the winter menu winding down, one can always expect a great, new menu for the new season.

Consistently outstanding food (important, since they only serve food). Part of the charm is the opportunity to bring your own wine. This place never disappoints. I was thinking veal chop tonight, but it’s Friday in Lent, so I went with the salmon. Just outstanding!

Always enjoy meeting with friends for lunch here! Staff is friendly, food is varied and delicious, and they accommodate customized meal requests. We always enjoy our leisurely chats over lunch here.

Ehh, it was just ok. I had the crab stuffed flounder special and my wife had the crab cakes. Food was warm but not hot. Plates were cold. Flavor was ok. Nothing special. Would expect more for the price. Won’t return but it’s not a bad place.
Hadn't been here for some time, but ended up really impressed. All the food was really tasty and well prepared, and the servers were warm and accommodating. The preparations were about the food quality and flavors, with the right portion sizes and without pretension (no foams or micro crisps or tweezer placed flowers in what I saw). Group of 5 totally enjoyed the meal, and the BYOB too.

Filet mignon was outstanding ~ so was the beet salad. Very nice selection of desserts ~ away from the norm.
I think Chris has put together a wonderful winter menu. This was the second occasion that I’ve had the veal chop and found it outstanding (a nice size and the right amount of fat for a great taste).
There is tremendous irony that Acacia doesn’t serve alcohol because the city leaders prohibit its sale across the street from a prep school. Yet, given the poor oversight and lack of best practices at the school it’s easier for a student to get booze on campus from a professor’s room or home than for an adult to have a drink at Acacia.
Had a lovely dinner Saturday Night for our 29th anniversary. Food was exceptional - especially the Prince Edward Mussels and the bacon wrapped swordfish. The restaurant is very special to us as we go there every January for our anniversary. Love the ambiance and service.
A very special place. Chef Chris has a masterful touch at coaxing the best flavors out in his ingredients. Duck macaroni and cheese was decadent, but not as heavy as it sounds. The grilled shrimp Greek salad was dressed perfectly and was a very good pairing. A wine bucket was offered for our BYOB. Patrick was a very nice server. We can't wait to go back.
Service was terribly slow. They are understaffed. The staff were pleasant but there were not enough of them. It was an hour from the time we sat down that we got out entrees, one of which was a salad and the second was a pasta dish with no meat. This is the second time we experienced poor (slow) service and will not be going back to give them another chance. Food is good but not worth the wait.

Tried the tasting menu for the first time and we were extremely pleased that we did. Each of the five courses was enjoyable. The highlights were the truffled cauliflower soup (perfect for a cold winter night) and the salmon tartare. Would definitely consider ordering from the tasting menu again.
Food and service at Acacia is always wonderful! Have had Terry as our server multiple times and she is professional, friendly and fabulous. It is always quiet enough that you can actually have a conversation with folks. Prices are not inexpensive, but as a BYOB, Acacia is great! Highly recommend it!

Everyone in our party of 5 enjoyed our holiday/end of semester lunch here at Acacia. It was suggested that we do this much more frequently!
I had not been to Acacia in many years, but decided to take a client there for a holiday lunch recently. There were only 3 tables seated, so it was quiet and our waiter was attentive. The food we ordered was very good, from soups to dessert. We both had the Scottish Salmon entree with cauliflower soup. For dessert, we had the apple crumble. I'd recommend these items to anyone looking to try something different. Very good.
The main disappointment was how "dead" the restaurant was ... eerie for a Friday at noon right before Christmas ... just made the lunch seem a bit odd.
I will go back though, and would recommend this as a change of pace from Princeton-area restaurants.
Terrific. But owner should create an entry way that does not blast cold air thru out the restaurant every time someone walks in or out.
Met a friend for lunch to celebrate the holidays. Food was great, ambiance was festive and our server was fantastic. Would definitely recommend Acacia!

We opted for the lunch app/entree/dessert. The pear salad was lite and wonderful gnocchi with squash and cauliflower was heavenly. My colleague had the salmon which was also very good! We ran short on time so had dessert to go.
Great food and service. Never a disappointment. We ordered the special, incredible. Our waitress Terry is the best.
This evening's special, a duo of pheasant, was outstanding. The breast meat was cooked to perfection, and a confit that was prepared with root vegetables in a pie was imaginative and a true delight. Along with the creamy cauliflower soup, I'd say these two courses made an excellent autumn meal and speaks much of the chef and his commitment to outstanding cuisine.
Acacia remains a good restaurant for the Princeton area. Food was great and interesting. Service was very good.
Kudos to Terry, Denise, Lauren and, of course, Chris and staff, for another terrific dinner. As always, food and service was exemplary. Never disappointed at Acacia!

The mushroom tartlet and the duck breast made an excellent autumn dinner.
Was able to make reservation for 10 just 40 minutes prior to arriving. Good appetizers and entrees. Scallop entree was terrific. BYOB
