We ate outside and wished there had been heaters. My companion ordered soup but didn’t get a spoon.
I used to love their cheeseburgers but was disappointed that they had iceberg lettuce on them.
The fries were crisp and the soup was delicious.
We had a fantastic lunch at Absinthe Brasserie! Everything was impeccable. Our food was excellent and our waiter, Ethan, was both professional and delightful and his sense of humor added a special sparkle to the entire experience.
We look forward to returning soon!
We had a wonderful evening at Absinthe. Great burger and skinny fries!!!
Amazing spot for a date night! The host, waiter, and all staff were accommodating and friendly.
Best meal of 2021 hands down. Haven't been in a while but was blown away by the freshness and quality of the food. Our server, David, was positively fabulous and we can't wait to go back. A true SF experience.
Excellent. We ate outdoors and it was very pleasant - great service and food.
The onion soup is SPECTACULAR! Wow! I will dream about it until next time.
Have always loved Absinthe - first time back since the beginning of Covid and nice to see they haven’t missed a beat. Food was superb and service stellar (attentive yet relaxed). And the cocktails….perfect!
It was a lovely dining experience, the staff was great, they were there with recommendations and ideas and then disappeared while we ate, and talked and enjoyed our evening, It was lovely and they called about my glasses that night before they left for the night; The food was presented very nicely, it was a joy to look at and everything was fresh and tasty
Nice Ambience, quite place to have conversation, food tasted great.
Perfect Pre Van Gogh exhibit. Nice vibe. Portions generous, fries and Negroni reason alone to go, but so many more excellent reasons too.
Steak frites with a dried out filet that was split in half. First time I've had this dish here and it was not good. Wine pour was short when the bartender poured, though the server's pour was better. Food came out too quickly - felt more like a pre-theatre dinner than casual dining.
So happy to be back to this restaurant. Everything great and we will return soon. Perfect for pre Symphony events.
Excellent quality food, good service, and one demerit: My chair had a too thin cushion (hard for the aching back) and my partner sat on a cushioned bench that was a bit too low for me (my chin would have barely cleared my plate).
A fabulous lunchtime experience. The three of us savored every delicious bite of our meal. A great afternoon celebrating our friendship.
The service was warm, cordial, and efficient. The ambiance was pleasant and as always, the food was quite good.
The steak frites was delicious, the staff were attentive, and the place has a great vibe. This would be a regular spot for us if we lived in SF.
Visited Absinthe for the first time since I moved away from San Francisco 10 years ago. They still have wonderful food, service, and ambiance after all of this time. I will hopefully return again before another decade goes by!
This place is in such a great location! Love what they've done with the outdoor dining. The menu has definitely gone for quite the refresh in the last few months, some of the staples that we held near and dear to our hearts aren't as traditionally french as before. Still very tasty though. Bring back the chickpeas!
We went to lunch on Bastille Day and were delighted with the special French lunch menu. The onion soup was one of the best we had ever had and the strawberry basil sorbet was dreamy.
Everything is wonderful. Atmosphere, service, and food.
In every way, The Absinthe Group restaurants continue to outperform other restaurants in San Francisco.
Everything---French onion soup, steak tartare and octopus was really good. The tartare was the best I've ever had; if you like this dish try it. Service was reasonable and efficient, not always sparkling, but maybe our server was just tired as we were there late in the evening. I recommend dining there late, because if you go earlier, they have a 1.5 hour rule which might not be enough time to enjoy both food and conversation.
They forgot about the special occasion
11:00 Sunday brunch, window seat for three. Very attentive service, great specialty cocktails (Corpse Reviver!), gorgeously silky French Onion Soup, delicious oysters, Croque Madame had a perfectly crispy cheesy top yet gooey underneath, the pickles on the luscious burger added just the right amount of tang.
A totally wonderful experience! Absinthe is back and better than ever. Greeted warmly, taken care of, fabulous food, excellent service -- a truly exceptional evening.
It was a perfect evening.
Lovely meal in a charming atmosphere. Possible the best roast chicken I have had in a restaurant. We shall return.
My family and I really enjoy Absinthe! The service from the matri’d to the staff were all so friendly and helpful!
The crown of the evening was the food. The incredible bone marrow to the grilled octopus was do full of flavors and the salmon tartare exceptional too. I just love this place!
Great tasting food and quantities. Have to park in the one of the nearby lots, though. A lovely restaurant.
Spectacular. I have been dining at this restaurant since 1998. Always good, but last night's dining experience was nothing less than perfect.
We were visiting SF & Napa for our anniversary. After countless restaurants and bars, we found this gem. Fantastic from start to finish.
Excellent food great ambiance and quiet. Wait staff was very helpful
Very accommodating to our requests and responsive to my questions.
Great service and suggestions, delicious food and great attention, we are going back there for sure! <3
Fancy French food, excellent cocktails in an incredible location. What's not to love?!
Lovely spot for brunch before the immersive Van Gogh show! We were almost the only diners there, so it was nice and quiet. Our party of 6 ordered everything from salmon tartar, to soup, to salad, to breakfast and quiche. Everyone's meal was delicious and so was the dessert. Our waitress was very nice and efficient, especially after I discovered we were late for the show.
Delayed 70th birthday party. Outdoor seating.
Labneh salad- amazing! Great food and service.
The waiter was downright rude and for whatever reason decided to take out her bad mood on us. Made the experience much less enjoyable but the food was amazing.
