The worse restaurant I have been to in the last 4 decades. Awful food, awful service, greatly over priced, even if the food was good, which it is not! I had Asian crispy chicken appetizer for $15. took 2 bites and left the rest. I next had a $28 hamburger, allegedly rare. Left 3 quarters. McDonalds is much better. I don't happen to be Jewish let lone Kosher so I have no way to compare it, but there has to be much better Kosher restaurants in New York. On top of everything my friend sent back the flounder as inedible and requested any other fish. She got Salmon, which was edible. She checked the bill and of course I got charged for both dishes. We called the manager who agreed to remove the Salmon charge. Now I have 2 charges from the restaurant. One for $287 and another one for $292. I can't call them because I can't control myself. Stay away.
The menu for lunch is a nice collection of high-end economical selections. The atmosphere is conductive to a professional environment. It appears the menu has been updated, yet traditional choices remain as well.
I went to this place for lunch with my staff. For the price, the food was just okay, the selection was okay, and the ambiance was marginal. I probably will never go back to this place again unless it was my only option in the area.
Took my wife there for her 40th birthday and had a great time. The food arrived quickly, both the appetizers and the entree were delicious, water was re-filled frequently, and even though we were too full for a real dessert, the waiter gave us a small brownie with a candle in it at no charge. Will return as often as we can justify the expense.
It's been pointed out to me that kosher establishments tend to turn a deaf ear to customer requests/complaints... the reason attributed to the demanding clientele.
I was told that our party couldn't switch to a certain table - because it was a VIP table. That comment didn't make me feel welcome or wanted. Suggested the employee not say that - because it hurt my feelings.
I would have liked to feel appreciated as a customer - instead felt like a number in a bakery line.... NEXT.
My husband and I went to dinner before a Broadway show. It was an excellent choice! The food was outstanding and the service was great! I would recommend it highly and visit again!
Abigael's is a winner every time--Amazing food, delicious cocktails and attentive waitstaff.
The food was not special, the server was lacking in charm. I would not go back.
My co-workers love it. I'm glad because they walk away with a great impression of kosher food and service. The proof is that they always want to go back! Thanks.
My party was able to get wonderful seating but restaurant did not have the reservation made through open table
was not what I expected to noisy and food took way to long to arrive soup was teastless steak was excellent
The restraunt is in the basement. The waiters are not professional at all the service is very slow and the food is not so good. I would highly recommend reserve cut as the number one kosher restraunt in the usa. I have eaten all over the world. You get what you pay for trust me.
Really enjoyed the meal. Our waitress helped suggest different entrees. We were quite impressed.
It was my wifes birthday and we did a show and Abigails! As I live in Israel, this was my first time there (recommended by family) and we were so pleased with everything. The ambiance was romantic and elegant, the waiter, Richard was professional, knowledgeable, very helpful and doted over us making us feel spoiled! The food was excellent, and we have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world. My wife had the rib steak which was grilled to perfection and I savoured the smoked short ribs, something I have not had the pleasure of eating in quite a while. Our greatest surprise was eating the Creme Brule that was Pareve (no dairy)! it was based on coconut milk and it was absolutely delicious. Aside from a very slight hint of coconut, you would never know that this creme brule was not made with heavy cream.
Abigail's is my favorite restaurant of all time! Never had a dish that was not delicious! The service is also wonderful!
Diverse menu; from sushi to deli to mains. Kosher restaurant in the heart of the garment district has been doing it right for many years. While the decor shows the years, the waiters are friendly and competent. They will let you dine or get you out on time for your show. The menu is varied and has something for everyone. Even with such diversity in choice the food is very good.
The food is always solid--i love the chili, popcorn chicken, pastrami on whole wheat, burger, jack daniels steak and anything they ever do with duck. But...service is usually pretty poor and if you dont order by 1215, you're in store for a long wait
The restaurant wasn't open despite the fact that I had a reservation!
Very welcoming. Good service and very tasty food.
Great for a large group. Had a bridal shower for 13 and we were all happy. The service was great and the food was served pretty fast.
I brought some Kosher-eating colleagues from Israel. Had they not had a dietary restriction, I would have gone to one of NYC's amazing restaurants, but Kosher and location were priorities. The servers tried hard, but seemed not to be well trained by management. The food itself was underwhelming at the prices charged. I suppose they're taking advantage of the kosher thing in NYC.
We had a group of 5 looking for good lunch pre-theater. Abigael's was delightful. Salad, soup n suchi pleased everyone. Wine was good, coffee n tea were excellent. Process reasonable. We want to go back!!
Our waiter was lacking on the service end, however the food is consistently good and I enjoyed the lunch.
Great food. Outstanding service. Moderately priced.
This was a great find. It is a good choice of restaurants, especially if you have a larger group. There is a wide menu selection, all our choices (for a group of 5) were well prepared.
We stumbled into this great spot after a long morning of hoofing around NYC. Great food , quiet spot for 7 to relax and regenerate!
Enjoy a business meeting with good food. Wait service was attentive to our needs.
So slow, so slow! And then by the time our party of 8 was able to leave, they wouldn't let us out the front door, but we had to go throught the back, connected building lobby instead. Because they had locked the font door! We had just dropped over $500! Give me a break!
I look forward to dining at Abigael's for the excellent cuisine options & preparation. The service is attentive and our guests always enjoy the meal & ambiance where we are able to have a conversation.
Location is right near Times Square, the heart of Manhattan. Even with high energy Times Square, you can escape the noise and energy for a quiet meal in a sedate, quiet spot. Noise level is low so intimate conversations are allowed -or if a part go ahead and sing Happy Birthday. The menu selection (meat) is diverse. Meals come out in timely fashion and are good.
This is a great place to have a meal for any occassion but be prepared to pay a premium price.
Not the best kosher food around but solid and a good value. We had the Jack Daniels steak which was cooked to perfection, the 32 oz rib eye that was huge and delicious to the last bite. Appetizers--popcorn chicken, veggie soup and chili wer all great. Dessert was a little blah--ice cream was crystalline like it has been frozen and re-frozen over and over. Service was very slow but when the waiter was overmatched, the maitre'd and biz manager took over. Solid meal, very good value. Menu's probably a little too extensive with different types of cuisine.
My husband and I have been going to Abigael's for years. Despite all the new, trendy restaurants that have opened over the years, we stayed loyal because the food was good, the service was good and it was a quiet place to enjoy a nice night out. But over the last 6-9 months, things have been changing. The menu quality has been cheapened, but the prices have gone up. The food is simply not up to the impeccable standard that we have come to expect. What a shame.
Excellent food. terrific spot for meeting friends for dinner and catching up, as noise level was moderate and good for conversation. Service could have been more attentive. Skip the coffee; it was terrible
One of the most reliably pleasant experiences among the kosher restaurants of New York, with something on the menu for everyone. The food is good, the salads fresh and green.
Only so much can be done with kosher.
A real find, very friendly, great service, great food and Kosher certification to boot!
We were very pleased with our celebration at Abigail's. We chose Abigail's because of a kosher menu that included both meat and fish and because of its midtown location. We celebrated a college graduation and a birthday. We even ordered a birthday cake. The food really surpassed our expectations. I loved the cauliflower soup. My son said his salmon was the best he has eaten. The service was wonderful.
The restaurant was downstairs, but an elevator was available.
Food was outstanding as was the service. staff was polite, professional, and most accommodating. One of our favorite kosher restaurants in NYC.
Took a date there. It was an awesome experience I highly recommend it! Great food. Great service.
This is an excellent place for kosher dining just south of Times Square, with great quality food whether you eat kosher or not. Prices are comparable to other fine restaurants. There is a less formal dining area on the street level with views of passersby on Broadway, but we prefer the more formal dining downstairs with no view at all. Service is always impeccible. Advice: Join their birthday club to get an (almost) free entree within a week of your birthday.
