I love this restaurant. I have had dinners here but this was my first time having lunch.
I made a reservation using Open Table.
The service is excellent and so is the food. Our server, Pierre, was both efficient and entertaining.
The restaurant has a warm and cozy feel. The decor is rustic and the noise level is low even when busy.
There is lots of parking.
We went out for our first anniversary. It was a lovely dinner. Beautiful atmosphere. Perfect for the occasion.
I have to say what an excellent dining experience this was. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the hospitality of the staff was outstanding and of course the meal itself was one of the best I have ever had at a restaurant, from the appetizer to the dessert and coffee. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan to go back again soon.
Thank you Aberfoyle Mill staff.
Having heard about this restaurant from friends we decided to try it. What a very, very wonderful experience. We were seated across from the fireplace, were served by lovely, mature and interesting men and enjoyed every bite of our lunch.
We are seniors who do lunch instead of dinner, and will certainly come back soon
While we appreciate the history and antiques of the Mill, it would benefit the restaurant to incorporate the antiques into a fresh new upgraded Reno/Design.
Excellent meal with attentive service
Took my daughter and her boyfriend out for dinner. Great food and service. Relaxing atmosphere. Background music is not overpowering. The old implements and so on that decorate the old mill are fun to see.
Some dishes were excellent and some were just ok. We found the service somewhat lacking compared to our last visit.
we are frequent diners. This was the worst experience we have had. We booked a week in advance. The table location was annoying right at the doorway where major traffic was constant. The table was very cramped as well and rocked when you cut the meat. My supper was 10 ounce prime rib. It was very dry...it was an end piece and the worst I have ever had there. The desert was chocolate ice cream with chocolate panache. Syrup would have been much better.
Will try again and give it one more chance...as previous experiences were much better.
I really appreciated a separate vegetarian menu that had four vegan options. Service was attentive but non-intrusive. Cozy setting with fireplace and traditional farm tools and other paraphernalia as decor.
Great food at a good price. We had a family of five on a Sunday night; the Mill was comfortably busy. Service was great and the meal was excellent. The Prime Rib goes fast so makes sure to order ahead - we got the last piece. The rack of lamb was great.
A hidden gem right off the 401 north in Aberfoyle. The warm 'real' fireplace and turn of the century decor was charming and welcoming. Certainly worth the drive from either the London or Toronto area. The food was delicious and the service, excellent. Merci Pierre! Will return again in the future.
Great food and excellent service. Very busy and somewhat loud atmosphere. We thought it was a bit pricey....2 drinks, 1 appetizer, 2 dinners.....$115
Greeted promptly, and seated the same with our reservation. Cocktails and bread along with appitizers were fabulous. We both had the lamb, which is simply amazing! Our waiter was funny as well as professional, excellent visit again!
This is the most consistently good resto in the Guelph area. Never had a bad meal and this was no exception. Homemade pate, superb confit de canard, lovely desserts were he highlights. Wait staff did a great job.
This is our go to place for special occasions, meeting friends and family. Food and service is always excellent, owners are great and friendly.
Dining at The Aberfoyle Mill was a wonderful experience. Our server was funny and attentive, the food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely.
Members of my family usually choose this restaurant for special occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries. For this occasion, there were no disappointments. The food was tasty and the service attentive. The 3-course prix fixe menu was great value.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and plan to return in the future. Prime Rib was very, very tender and salmon was perfectly prepared. My husband enjoyed the Potato and cheese soup and my salad was fresh and flavourful. I was very pleased with my Cabernet from France.
My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at the Aberfoyle Mill. We showed up early and were greeted warmly . We were seated near the fireplace as I requested when I made the reservation.
The staff was very friendly and professional . Our food was amazing and cooked perfectly . We were even surprised with a free dessert ! A nice ending to a great evening .
Great spot, leveled dining
Seperate area for tables of 2 (no kids) overlooking the main dining. Lovely!
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Aberfoyle Mill and it was excellent. From the ambiance, to the food, to the service, everything was perfect. I was always reluctant to go because I believed that the costs were higher. However, the meals were very reasonable and worth every penny. I will certainly recommend to others to check it out, particularly for a special occasion. You know a restaurant is super, but the amount of people that were in the restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The staff was excellent from the moment we walked in the door. They treated our daughter well and gave her a balloon. The staff knows how to serve and be polite.
We have made several visits to this fine establishment and have always loved our visits! It is fun to see the movement of fine services as they take place so calmly in your environment. We will continue to keep yours as one of our most favourite choices for dining in style...thank you all.
Food, service and ambiance was wonderful. They provided a tasty birthday cake on short notice. Very accomodating. Good childrens menu. Would definitely return.
The waiter was amazing, sorry I waited so long to go there for dinner.
This is a lovely gem of a restaurant. The staff and food are always great. We ate in the room off to the side of the main restaurant which is much quieter and good if you are looking for a romantic evening. Although the soup is always great, my favourite appetizer is the Caesar salad. The bacon on it is amazing. If you come on the weekend you can treat yourself to their prime rib with horseradish. End the meal with one of their coffee. Highly recommend Aberfoyle.
Very friendly staff. Best ceasar salad in Guelph. No complaints!
Best Caesar salad ever! Exceptional prime rib on weekends. The fish has never disappointed us.
Really good, reqlly liked it, cute cozy place. Super cool atmosphere.
Beautiful location with an outstanding team. Went for a special occasion and was impressed with the professionalism of service and the delicious meals. Young lady serving us was Victoria, who even made time to take some memento photos for us and our visit outstanding. Thank you. During our meal I noticed a large group sitting near us and was amazed at the fantastic way the meals were brought in with covers to keep them warm and served without a hitch, so everyone could eat at the same time, wow. Will definitely visit again.
My son who attends the U of Guelph has always wanted to go there. On his birthday we drove up and decided to make reservations. We were not disappointed!
The food, the quantities and the service was exceptional!
We had a very good time and made great memories!
I can't wait to go back! Maybe March break?
Always good at the Aberfoyle Mill. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour.
Another great dinner , unfortunately very busy so had to sit in the back room that is not as charming.. Cesar salad was very good as always and the Prime rib delicious
We had the most amazing meal and the best server ever. We four seniors celebrated Family Love on Valentines Day as a group but there were dozens of Valentine celebrating couples. The decor is equally amazing.
FANTASTIC EXCELLENT SERVERS TH E MISS KUPFERSCHMIDT
Our waitress was great. Our food was great. The only thing that was very disappointing was how rude they were at the end of the night. It was only 9:10pm and the guy (not sure if he is the owner)pointed to his watch and said okay time to go!! We were not told they were closing. That was just unbelievable! He explained when we got our coats that when it isn't busy he sends everyone home early. We realized we were the only ones left in the restaurant. How did we know!!
Very good as always
Great, delicious food and excellent service within the rustic, quiet and comfortable setting of an old mill....what's not to like about this place?? Will definitely return.
