Always great food and service
Great food, excellent service. Will be back soon.
Celebrated our 3 year anniversary. Fantastic food, great service, cute little place. Will visit again.
Very nice restaurant, in terms of ambiance. However, the service and food leaves something to be desired. The waiter failed to give us the daily specials, so when another table got halibut, we were wondering why it wasn’t on the menu. Ordered the shrimp and grits and were not impressed. Grits were like mashed potatoes, and weren’t very creamy or buttery (also they weren’t served with bacon). Shrimp was okay, but the consistency of the grits ruined the dish for me. Had the arancini, which was good, but there was very little marinara sauce so they were a bit dry. The meal was pricey, especially for the mediocre food. Needless to say, we won’t be going back.
Our server, Lisa, was knowledgeable of the menu, specials and wine list. Oysters, Arancini, and Beet Salad were great. We chose a full bottle of wine that went well with every course. For dessert, the Lemon Blueberry cake was a refreshing summer treat!!
Tryed new oysters from Maine and a new tuna appetizer and both were delicious!
Our favorite restaurant by far. We love the atmosphere and the food is second to none.
Food was great; environment was loud and hard to hear guests at each end of the table.
This was our first time here. Great food and great service.
Abel Brown is such a great place. The food is wonderful and service is great. The manager even came over to apologize for our food taking longer than usual. We’ll definitely be back.
The scallops special on July 16, 2021 was superb; I wish they would add it to the menu permanently!
The food is Awesome. One of my favorite spots in augusta.
Food for 5 people took nearly TWO hours. We are regulars at AB and had a good friend from Philadelphia with us. Our waitress apologized for the significant delay and said the manager was aware of our situation. However, no one offered to accommodate the ridiculous wait time by comping our appetizers, an entrée, or by providing credit for a future visit. It was an unprofessionally managed situation. I will not be taking any out of town guests to AB again.
Birthday: food was great service was awesome but very noisy for an evening meal
Not sure how to judge value here. Everything was first class and the food was fresh and well prepared. The wine was overpriced ($35 for a bottle of Muscadet) but I didn't mind paying it because where else in Augusta are you going to find fresh oysters and Muscadet!
The food was pricey but again I don't mind paying for it because it was the best!
And we'd go back in a flash. First class evening!
Great specials and drinks. I always appreciate a restaurant with some good mocktails too!
Always excellent food and great ambiance! Our special neighborhood go to .
We love this restaurant and still come back even though we now live out of town. Delicious seafood and amazing service.
We were group of 4 adults and we all ordered the same entree, a halibut dish. It was outstanding! We all ate every bite of it.
Two of us shared a dozen wonderful oysters as an appetizer, with another enjoying oysters Rockefeller.
Service was personable and excellent. The chef cam out and asked our opinions of the meal as well.
They were on their game last night. The food was superb and the service matched. Just a great dining experience.
Great restaurant. Food is always well prepared and inventive. Highly recommended.
Great food as always
Augusta has few fine dining experiences. AB offers one of them.
Family visiting for 4th of July. Appetizer was decent fried oysters only 4pc could have used a couple of more. Ordered raw oysters instead of broiled oysters on a shell. My fault. Too cold but husband ate them because we paid for them. Cocktails okay. Food was good that was the biggest highlight, Salmon and shrimp and grits . Didn’t order dessert. Service was excellent we had a great server. Knowledgeable about menu and checked on us frequently. Service was top notch. Definitely a go to place you will enjoy.
The food, service, atmosphere was all fabulous! We will definitely be back!
Everything was amazing as always
Abel Brown never disappoints! Exactly why it is one of our favorite places in Augusta.
We ordered the calamari, Very good. Tomato Bisque soup, Excellent. Caesar, Very good. The parmesan crisps on it were outstanding!
We also ordered the Seared Scallops with Andouille Sausage special, Killer! And the Halibut special. Very Good.
Dominique, our waitress was delightful and efficient. The drinks from the bar took a little longer than usual, but the dining room and bar areas were busy.
Arrived on time for 7:30 reservations. We were seated and told to expect server soon. 15 minutes pass when the server approached and stated that refreshments, ie; water, bread should be expected soon. Another 10 passed before our orders of 2 salads, 1 calamari dish and 2 Rockefeller Oysters, all appetizers, were taken. We received the customary bread, 1 roll of very tough recently microwaved bread was finally served after another request some minutes later.
At 8:25 we were served 1 order of Rockefeller Oysters that was cold. Also, it seems to have ingredients missing as the dish was extremely bland and unattractive. It appeared to merely consist of an oyster wrapped within a gigantic leaf of spinach that was cooked in spinach sauce rather than the quality ingredients depicted on the menu.
We expressed our displeasure in the food to the server, and he went to management. The manager addressed our concerns with quality of the food served us ;however, we decided to leave at that point. As we were leaving our dish of calamari arrived. It was on the house. The taste was better than the oysters but, I wouldn't order it again.
Overall terribly experience. I felt compelled to leave gratuity for subpar service. The " absolutely worse" Rockefeller Oysters that I have eaten in my 60 years of living. That includes all the ports and restaurants throughout the many countries that I encountered while serving in the Navy. Furthermore, the menu tends to be somewhat pricey.
Able Brown never lets you down, whether you go for just drinks and appetizers or a full meal.....we love this place and all of its employees...
I don't know if the chef changed during the pandemic but after having such wonderful experiences previously, I was very disappointed with this meal. I asked for my tuna to be cooked rare (lightest of sear on each side) and it was cooked more than it was raw. It is sad when the grits are the only good part of a $32 entrée. My husband's scallops were on the rubbery side, which means they were also overcooked. Or perhaps both our meals sat under a warming lamp for way too long. Regardless of the reasons for the mistakes, for a $100 meal I expected much better.
Phenomenal anniversary dinner!
Fantastic service & great food.
fried oysters were great....and the lobster roll was delicious...service as always was fantastic.
Fish and oysters are wonderful
Excellent variety of raw oysters, and a tempting assortment of small plates coupled with great cocktail choice snare our dinner for 4 a wonderful experience. The finale, dessert was as rewarding- the key lime pie was perfect as it was light and airy and with just enough of a layer of graham cracker crumbs on the bottom for taste. Best we’ve ever had.
Everyone treats you like family. The food is outstanding. Thank you
Food was delicious!
Very good service, the food was ok. Atmosphere was great
Never disappointed in the food or service. Worth the drive from Aiken.
Food was decent but nothing memorable. Bartender was a bit stuffy and came off as somewhat unfriendly but over time he was so so. Nice looking restaurant with a clean presentation and fun vibe. If you want something safe and not to exciting I say give it a try. Note the happy hour cocktails are great for their price
