Service was amazing as usual. Food was delicious
The service is always top notch. I reserved with the note of my in-laws anniversary and our waitress brought us dessert with "happy anniversary" on the plate. Its the little things like that which makes the service stand out. We sat and enjoyed every last bite with the specials available that night. May I say that I love my table being wiped between meals and the servers always do it at Abel Brown. Thank you front of house and back of house!
Food and service was great! I will definitely be going back!
We always have a wonderful time. The food is excellent and the service is delightful.
Fantastic food. Service was a class act. Wait staff worked very close together. It was like the whole restaurant was waiting our table. A+++++++
Love it and will be back 3/26. We had a great experience this past Sunday. Food, drinks, and service. Music was great and had a fantastic feel to the bar area.
This was our first trip to Abel Brown, and we were taking my niece for her 17th birthday. We wanted to take her somewhere truly special, and AB seemed to fit the bill perfectly.
We had made a reservation for 8 p.m. at a high top since there was nothing else available. We arrived early and decided to order a drink from the bar while we waited. The bar staff was excellent. The drinks came out in a timely fashion, and they were not priced near what other restaurants of the same caliber price their drinks at.
The host team sat us as soon as possible, and even got us into a regular table instead of a high top. I was impressed with the team’s ability to multi-task their various responsibilities, and still maintain the level of courtesy and professionalism that they did throughout the evening.
Upon arrival at our table, we were greeted by multiple servers. We were informed that the servers would all be caring for us (the room really) should we need anything. One server did assume the Lead, but the service was a throwback to a time long gone, when the customer was seen as the purpose of the business.
We were asked if we would like a long leisurely dinner, or if we would like to eat in a hurried manner. Then we were given choices of appetizers, salads, entrees, and even just bites of some things. The kitchen would mix and match portion and meal to tantalize and satisfy even the most discriminating of palettes.
After 2 hours of tasting this and eating that we were full and so happy because my wife and I treated my sweet niece to a wonderful birthday dinner at one of my new favorite places to eat!
This is one of the best meals we've ever had. Every item was delicious and beautifully plated. I have the tenderloin filet, it was cooked to perfection. My husband had the salmon special and loved it. The spinach salad and the beet salad were amazing. We had carrot cake and creme brulee for dessert, both excellent. Our server was just so nice and helpful and pleasant. Everything about this place is great. Don't hesitate! Just go!
As always and excellent meal and experience. The oysters and halibut were especially good.
This was our second visit and could not have been more satisfied. Victoria was an excellent server. She checked back with us regularly, but was not in a rush for us to make our selections or to eat. Her wine recommendations were excellent. The chef is hitting a home run with creative dishes that match the best dining experiences I have had. The oyster selection is fantastic and fresh from the water. Go as soon as you can.
Food was great and the waitress was very friendly. The only downside was that my wife and I had to wait for over twenty minutes because our table wasn't ready at our reservation time.
Birthday. It was just perfect.
Server was stretched very thin, not his fault, definitely a management issue. Food took a very long time, watched only 2 of 3 cooks really putting all effort in, other one stood around a lot. A blonde floor manager was obviously just pretending to be busy. Food was good, but won’t go back again, after being a big fan for so many years, it’s severely disappointing to see the details of the awesome service being forgotten.
Best oysters in the area, Rockefeller, fried, raw..they're all exceptional. Cocktails great, menu variety A+. Wait staff second to none! Thanks Abel Brown
We love going to Abel Browns. We always feel welcomed and the food is fresh and yummy.
I had a good time as usual. Great waitstaff and very good oysters.
2nd time here while in Augusta area. Oysters were fresh and excellent. Husband ordered a dozen - I normally will only eat one. I ate three! Beet salad was wonderful. Nice portion - not too much but not skimpy either. Scallops were excellent. Seared & a bit crispy on the outside, melt-in-your mouth on the inside. Risotto was also excellent. Can't remember the name of the pork dish, but it was also delicious. Didn't eat dessert but espresso was good. Only comment we made to each other concerned the size of the drinks. A bit on the small side. But, we have become so used to huge plates, portions & glasses that these sizes are probably what we SHOULD be drinking!
Wonderful food. Great service. The best oysters we have ever eaten.
Tables are too low
Second time coming here. Food and service wonderful. Great drink selection as a variety of oysters to choose from. The changing specials provide a great variety. Came here for an anniversary and left satisfied with every part of our experience
Salmon, Chicken and Halibut were fantastic. Great Salads, Oysters and Drinks, and first rate service
Best in Augusta! Service was terrific. We ordered the Atlantic Halibut and it was amazing. Halibut was fresh and wonderfully prepared over potato gnocchi.
If I am in the mood for a good fish dish, Abel Brown is my #1 choice. Saturday night I had blackened Mahi over cheese grits with fried eggplant. It was delicious! Their desserts are "calorie worthy" and they make a great expresso martini!
We loved our visit to Abel Brown! The ambiance and food was everything! Can’t wait to go back! Definitely a great Date night spot!
It was Sunday night menu which did not live up to my expectations. Need to offer more like regular
It was our first visit, but we will return! Food was great, service was, too.
Great service.. good food. Loved it
Waited too long to get our table(even with a reservation through open table) but the food and service was great!
Food was good, but we waited 25 mins to get seated for our 7:00 pm reservation and waited quite a bit for our server.
I usually love Abel Brown. However, last night I had a reservation for 7:15pm and was not seated until 8:00pm. It was clear that there were too many people for the chef to accommodate. Our order of oysters came 1/2 hour after ordering with entree being served 45 minutes after ordering. The food, though, was amazing. I just can't deal with waiting so long. It was a ZOO when we arrived at 7:15....the bar was packed with people waiting for tables. I'll give it another shot because the food is that good.
Went for husbands birthday dinner. Food was amazing as always. Phil our waiter
Always makes us feel at home. He’s the best waiter we have ever had.
Oyster selection was great. Nice pairing of wines. We arrived at 5 pm, ordered appetizers and a main course. By 7:15 the main course had yet to arrive. Service was spotty and obviously the timing of the meal was very poor. We had the main course boxed to go. We remained unimpressed with the lack of seasoning for the filet. However, the sea bass was cooked to perfection. Overall we were left with a frustrating date night due to poor service. We will go back for oysters and drinks but that it is all.
Exceptional food and service every time. A little pricey but worth it.
It was great the server and food were both amazing. I will be returning soon.
This is the first time I have every written a review for a restaurant. Four of us went there for dinner on Valentines Day. Had tried unsuccessfully to make reservations at other restaurants and could only get in Abel Brown at 5:00. This was our first visit to Abel Brown and we certainly weren't disappointed. We were seated promptly at a table at the front window, which gave a little area that provided more privacy. We were given a wonderful young lady, Victoria to attend to our food needs. She had a warm sweet smile and was so attentive and informative of all the items available. She made recommendations when we were unsure what to order and was spot on for each of them. We had Springer chicken, shrimp and grits, a Chilean sea bass dish and the tomahawk pork chop. Not one complaint from any of us in regards to the presentation, flavor and quantify of the food. Each of said that we could not have asked for a better dining experience or better food. Looking forward to our next trip to Abel Brown and only hope it remains the same as this time.
I had Abel Brown highly recommended to me by a colleague and it certainly did not disappoint. Don’t expect to get out of there with a small bill; it is pricey. But the food and service are definitely worth the occasional splurge.
The day before Valentine’s Day was very busy. The food was still great. Thank you for everything.
Took a little while to get seated but well worth the wait...yum !
