The menu at Abe Fisher includes classics with a twist, like chicken liver mousse, borscht tartare, cholent pot pie, Hungarian duck and veal schnitzel tacos. You can also get family-sized portions for certain items like Montreal smoked short ribs with homemade rye bread and mustard. For dessert at Abe Fisher, choose from an almond cake, apple tart, or the bacon and egg cream. There is also a full bar and a wide selection of amari.
Amazing food, wildly knowledgeable staff who clearly love their work, great atmosphere. Love coming here.
Our server was fantastic. We had a tight timeframe and he made sure we got our food and drinks without making us feel rushed. The caesar salad was unexpectedly interesting and delicious. The other dishes were good but they all tasted like they had way too much salt in them which reduced the impact of the flavor of the interesting food. And I love salty foods. I will try again and might just ask for less salt because drinks were amazing and it was a comfortable and the atmosphere was really nice. And of course, stellar service that was polished. It was a really pleasant place to be.
Lovely dining experience. So impressed with everyone, especially the extra care that went into our meal. I am allergic to nuts and they not only asked when confirming our reservation but also provided a “nut-free” menu. The duck was perfect. The virgin cocktails (we don’t really drink) were so good!! Went home with a fully bell and full heart
Abe Fisher lived up to expectations. We did the short rib tasting menu which we decided last minute after feeling the pre fixe may not be enough food based in servers recommendations. It was very good, the spreads and breads, the beef tongue, the short rib and desserts were phenomenal! The rye bread was out of this world good...like can I just buy a loaf of it!? Anyway will be back! Great experience!!!!
our server. was. amazing. don't ask me her name but I bet y'all can figure it out. brown hair , knowledgable, friendly, funny. We were in the southwestern-most booth from 7ish ---> .
Food was delicious, service excellent. Good price, good value. Would definitely recommend and come back again.
Good was very good and diverse, service was above and beyond. The cocktail list is interesting / offbeat and fun. Would definitely recommend.
We’ve been to Abe Fisher four times over the last two years and have always enjoyed it. But this most recent visit the food was the best we’ve had there. We liked the small plates and with five guests we were able to try many of the offerings. The service has always been friendly and helpful. The noise level is on the louder side but not to the extent that it was difficult to have a table conversation.
Great food - poor service as it was my birthday and the waiter focused only on my partner. Very dark- couldn’t read the menu and very loud horrible music. If you don’t mind all that, then go just to eat and run. This restaurant is a new twist on Jewish food served in small tapas portions. Went to Zahav last year for my B-day. More food there ( we had enough leftovers for another meal at home) and wait staff went out of their way to make me feel special. Most likely will not return.
Amazing food, dessert, service, drinks and ambiance!
I come here every time I travel to Philly. Absolutely love the food and staff. Be back soon!
unique fresh food that is served by a knowledgeable wait staff well versed in ingredients subtle flavors and wine paitrings A delightful experince
The food was fantastic as always, though it exceeded expectations this time and this was our fourth visit here. But beyond that, the staff and service were simply outstanding. We were so well attended to, making it an amazing experience. We chose to come here because we were in the neighborhood and knew the food would be very good, but it was even better than we expected and the service was just the best.
Amazing creative food , create service . Music was very strange taste and a bit too loud , too many different genres in one playlist
An excellent array of interesting new dishes and flavors. The menu is somewhat limited and may not appeal to everyone, but we thoroughly enjoyed nearly every dish (and we shared many dishes family-style, which is the vibe of the restaurant). Excellent service as well.
Excellent food, good service - but 2-4 employees often just standing around. Mediocre and expensive wines by the glass.
FABULOUS - everything from the service, food, drinks!
Absolutely delicious. Amazing flavors. Beautiful presentation. Friendly staff, just attentive enough and not too much. And generosity! What a lovely evening.
Outstanding on all aspects. Chef Sichel also came to chat and deliver drinks and plates on the house. Such a warm welcoming atmosphere and terrific food. I can’t wait to return!
We always love grabbing a meal here. The staff is great and the food is always amazing
Everything was amazing top to bottom, most underrated place in the city, playlist was 🔥too.
Passover menu was interesting - but probably didn’t need to be Mexican. Starters were not great. Soup was excellent. Lamb was cold - but good.
Food was very good, service was excellent, very interesting Passover menu!
Great meal! They were very knowledgeable about dietary restrictions and very accommodating.
Dynamic and bustling space. Friendly staff. Food good, but not the greatest. Cannot complain for the price - very reasonable.
OMG. This was a fantastic meal start to finish. Keep in mind, the place is small, and quite loud. Not a place for quiet conversation. But the food is amazing. We had the tasting menu, and chose the duck 3-ways option. At $60 per person, this is a great deal! Large portions, and totally delicious. You also get to try many of the highlights of the menu. I must mention that the “bacon and egg cream” dessert is spectacular - one of my favorite desserts of the last few years. The service was terrific and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, a must go in Philly. I wish they would open a branch in NYC!
Excellent personal service and delicious food
The food was very interesting but mostly just not amazing. The price was very high for the pris fixe. The service was just plain trying too hard: could barely have a conversation because of frequent unnecessary interruptions to ask how thing we’re going., and they spoke too quickly and softly for the moderately high noise level.
This place is trying to be both hip and elegant, and it did not work for me.
It has been several years since dining st Abe Fisher and was very pleased that the quality is still high
Top notch service with an approachable and down to earth feel. Intriguing dishes, high quality evening.
We enjoyed the inventive take on traditional European Jewish cuisine, but found there to be too much fat and salt in the menu items. Grateful for the experience but not hurrying back anytime soon.
The crowd in the bar were so loud that it distracted from our enjoyment of the meal.
One of the best meals I have had in a long time; really enjoyed the borscht tartare and the pickled herring dip. Servers were outstanding, engaging and really well-versed on the food and drink menus!
My dinner at Abe Fisher was excellent. The service was superlative and the food was fresh and freshly prepared. Borscht tartare was fun and full of texture. Roast chicken was so tender and succulent. And the mint cake topped the meal off with just the perfect level of sweetness.
Abe Fisher, part of the growing Zahav food empire, is a wonderful restaurant . The menu is based around dishes echoing Jewish-American staples, but reinvented to haute cuisine levels. The prix fixe menu results in a round of shareable small plates, each one offering an amazing and different taste—from the borscht (beet) tartare to the sweet potatoes to the corned beef tongue and on. A great dining experience.
The pastrami short rib we ordered for six people was as big as Fred Flintstone’s dinosaur rib that knocked his car over. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. The small plates created by the chef were excellent. One of the best restaurants in Philadelphia.
Cocktails and food were fantastic. Could have been more happy hour options but really enjoyed the variety of drinks and snacks. Very flavorful.
Great take on Jewish cuisine. Execution of the food was excellent. The only lacking dish was the latkes, which was good just underwhelming. Asparagus never tasted so good.
Service was attentive and quick but not overbearing.
