The menu at Abe Fisher includes classics with a twist, like chicken liver mousse, borscht tartare, cholent pot pie, Hungarian duck and veal schnitzel tacos. You can also get family-sized portions for certain items like Montreal smoked short ribs with homemade rye bread and mustard. For dessert at Abe Fisher, choose from an almond cake, apple tart, or the bacon and egg cream. There is also a full bar and a wide selection of amari.
The food was delicious, the wait staff were friendly and helpful. The prefixed menu was a great was to take many great dishes.
Amazing food, exceptional service, delicious drinks. Such a great night out!
Food was good and diverse. Skip the latkes. Tomato salad is outstanding.
The Hungarian duck tasting was phenomenal!!! But you better like duck! The three different cuts all have there greatness. The spreads to start the meal were great! All unique and sure to create discussion among your group on what the best was. The pretzel bao buns are awesome pairing to the duck. The zucchini cake hit the spot as a dessert. Final tip: if it's a special occasion, let them know.
We were treated as special guests & we loved it! our server Erin brought us complimentary glasses of champagne and apples & honey for Rose Hashanah. The food was an adventure for our taste buds - every dish was a re-invention of traditional dishes and beyond delicious. Abe Fisher is on the list of the best food I’ve ever experienced! The cocktails are equally interesting and tasty.
Everything was good except the noise level. I have recommended Abe to friends but also telling them about the noise level.
Everything was great, the ribs were delicious. The menu is a little expensive but definitely a great restaurant for special occasions.
Great service from all the staff!
The food was great, and definitely worth trying and coming back. We went for the restaurant week, and it was a very good deal. We got to try a lot of their signature items.
I highly recommend.
Loved Abe Fisher! It was delicious, wonderful and we really enjoyed our meal here.
Service and food were superb! The dishes are familiar but with intriguing twists that are unexpected and delightful! Restaurant Week was a great reason to dine at Abe Fisher for the first time, but we can't wait to go back.
Abe Fisher is an excellent restaurant! I would highly recommend checking it out if you’re in Philadelphia. Delicious food and superb service. We happened to be in town during Restaurant Week, so the menu was different than normal. I’m not familiar with the regular menu, and I have no complaints about what was offered; it was all yummy!
Simply incredible. Went with the restaurant week menu and the bread spread alone was more impressive than some of the other restaurant week offerings I've had.
Wonderfully creative food. Loud, loud, loud. Waitress was sassy. Had to wait for a table even with a reservation made 6 weeks in advance and confirmed 3 times.
Attentive Service made experience over the top and great food helped. It was perfect place to have our over 25 years friendship reunion. Thank you. Kudos to Nicole, from San Diego, our server for the evening
Delicious food and great informative servers
Service was outstanding and we will definitely be back!
A very welcoming place! Everyone is friendly and has smile on their faces. The food is outstanding, especially the 1st course and dessert. We went home extremely happy!
All of the food was so good and exceeded all expectations. The service also exceeded all expectations. The servers were very attentive and wiped off the tables between each course. This is the third restaurant we went to for restaurant week and is by far mine and my husband’s favorite! We have already recommended this place to several friends. One star was taken off for ambiance just because the music was a little weird, they had Beyoncé playing and some other pop music that didn’t fit the vibe of the restaurant. We will be coming again!!! Thank you so much for a lovely experience
Didn’t like the food
The service was sooo excellent!! It seemed like every server/waiter/staff member was checking on us (and not annoyingly). The food was delicious!! - from the breads and spreads to the brisket, tacos, croquettes, and latkes!! I liked the duck but i much prefer Peking duck from Chinatown. Oh and the cocktails were also perfection!
Great experience overall. Fantastic food, great service!
Invited to get back
The service and the food were outstanding. Our server made our night. She explained everything, appeared when we needed her and was the best!
everything we ordered was delicious and really, really excellent service.
Excellent food and service.
Everything is great except that wine is definitely overpriced.
Everything was great... but the food
Awesome Meal! Awesome Service!
The food is great, the service is wonderful, the place is nice. It's basically a small plates "Tapas" style meal, although that may not be well explained by the server. Everything we had was good. Modern twists on traditional Jewish style foods. Everyone would enjoy it!
Truly inventive take on what is usually homey fare... never the same trick twice, the creative application of cross-cultural flavor jingles both lighten eastern-European standards (we loved the kreplachs in a light broth) and the creamy lightness of the poached chicken with bright, acidic peaches was perfect with the plums. Conviviality seemed to fill the place, and we enjoyed the view of Sansom Street through the band windows: it was a little slice of Philly to go with the food... that spice worked well too.
We loved it. Very unique, special experience.
Celebrated a milestone anniversary at Abe Fisher! Great experience! Servers were indeed very well informed. Vegetarian options were well prepared and very well paired! The only issue of discontent was thr noise, wish it had been quieter!
Excellent service and amazing food! Highly recommend for any occasion
Delicious, inventive cuisine based on Eastern European Jewish classics.
Highly recommend. Food and drink were delicious. I started off with a cocktail called Redemption Song that was tart and refreshing. I enjoyed the two amuse buche - a savory rugelach which was good and a potatoe chip with beet tartare with a dollop of sour cream. The crunch of the chip with the sweet and tart beets and the smooth cream was simple and exceptional. I had the prix fixe and ordered the chicken liver mousse, sweet potatoes (best I've ever had - a medley of sweet and spicy and soft and crunchy) and the brisket. All were extremely well done. Portions are generous. I was sitting at the chef's counter and they gave me small sandwiches with the smoked short ribs. Outstanding smoked meat! Hope I get to return.
We ordered from the three item fixed price menu and everything was outstanding. The kitchen paired our orders so that they complimented each other. Our waiter Amer was outstanding ... he explained dishes and shared stories about the restaurant and life. The kitchen gave us a free Rowhouse Demon Weed Amro from the desert menu and it was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Super tasty food. Def will go back whenever I am in Phily
Abe Fisher always delivers an incredible dining experience. The addition of the cacia and pepe kugel was a great surprise. The potato latke is the best I’ve ever had. We’ll be back!!
Excellent service mixed in with gourmet comfort food. Went there with friends who grew up with these dishes as comfort and love the restaurant. We absolutely adored it.
It was up there with one of the best and most memorable meals we have ever had, and we have had some great ones! We had the tasting menu with the
