Passover menu was interesting - but probably didn’t need to be Mexican. Starters were not great. Soup was excellent. Lamb was cold - but good.

Dynamic and bustling space. Friendly staff. Food good, but not the greatest. Cannot complain for the price - very reasonable.

OMG. This was a fantastic meal start to finish. Keep in mind, the place is small, and quite loud. Not a place for quiet conversation. But the food is amazing. We had the tasting menu, and chose the duck 3-ways option. At $60 per person, this is a great deal! Large portions, and totally delicious. You also get to try many of the highlights of the menu. I must mention that the “bacon and egg cream” dessert is spectacular - one of my favorite desserts of the last few years. The service was terrific and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, a must go in Philly. I wish they would open a branch in NYC!

The food was very interesting but mostly just not amazing. The price was very high for the pris fixe. The service was just plain trying too hard: could barely have a conversation because of frequent unnecessary interruptions to ask how thing we’re going., and they spoke too quickly and softly for the moderately high noise level.
This place is trying to be both hip and elegant, and it did not work for me.

We enjoyed the inventive take on traditional European Jewish cuisine, but found there to be too much fat and salt in the menu items. Grateful for the experience but not hurrying back anytime soon.

The crowd in the bar were so loud that it distracted from our enjoyment of the meal.

One of the best meals I have had in a long time; really enjoyed the borscht tartare and the pickled herring dip. Servers were outstanding, engaging and really well-versed on the food and drink menus!

My dinner at Abe Fisher was excellent. The service was superlative and the food was fresh and freshly prepared. Borscht tartare was fun and full of texture. Roast chicken was so tender and succulent. And the mint cake topped the meal off with just the perfect level of sweetness.

Abe Fisher, part of the growing Zahav food empire, is a wonderful restaurant . The menu is based around dishes echoing Jewish-American staples, but reinvented to haute cuisine levels. The prix fixe menu results in a round of shareable small plates, each one offering an amazing and different taste—from the borscht (beet) tartare to the sweet potatoes to the corned beef tongue and on. A great dining experience.

The pastrami short rib we ordered for six people was as big as Fred Flintstone’s dinosaur rib that knocked his car over. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. The small plates created by the chef were excellent. One of the best restaurants in Philadelphia.

Great take on Jewish cuisine. Execution of the food was excellent. The only lacking dish was the latkes, which was good just underwhelming. Asparagus never tasted so good.
Service was attentive and quick but not overbearing.

Each dish had its own personality and was presented with care and explanation. The yummy savory rugelach started the evening. Loved the Pastrami Short Rib and the fresh baked rye bread. We inhaled the chicken liver mousse, and cherished the reinvented egg cream for dessert. It never occurred to me that the traditional food I grew up with could be transformed to be so tasty, even attractive, and just plain delicious. The attention to detail, both service and meal, made the entire dining experience one we will not forget.

As this is one of the few restaurants we have gone to multiple times I am happy to say that they continue not to disappoint. Everything from the service to the food was wonderful. The Abe fisher cocktail is always great and the duck was superb. I could tell you each dish we had but go yourself and if in doubt ask. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you as always to the entire team that took care of us.

My date and I were warmly welcomed. We started at the bar with outstanding service and accommodations. Our sever was friendly and very sweet. The kitchen staff was very generous and sent out some treats that my date could enjoy. They even gave us an extra desserts to accommodate her vegetarian lifestyle.

One of my favorite restaurant experiences ever! The staff was attentive and personable; we never had to ask for anything. They delighted us with small surprise treats in between our courses. We ordered the option of three small plates with wine pairings. The wines were well matched to the food selections. The flavors in all the dishes were interesting and delicious and the plating was very artful but not over done. Portions were just right; we were totally satiated at the end of our meal. As far as ambience, we felt as though we were dining at our friend's home. It was a perfect evening except for the increased noise level toward the end of our meal when the dining room was full.

My fiancé and I went for the first time for our three year anniversary and the service and food was outstanding. We encountered about 5 people who worked at the restaurant and every single one them wished us a happy anniversary. Everybody went above and beyond to make our day that much more special. The short rib surpassed all the reviews and was better than we ever imagined. We didn’t eat a single thing (even the bread) that we didn’t devour. We would highly recommend! We can’t wait until we come back!

I am always impressed with the incredible food and stellar service here! The Smokey charred sweet potato Boursin cheese long hot dish might actually be my new fave next to the chicken liver mousses and next to the veal schnitzel tacos of course! I highly recommend this! #droolworthy#gaygourmands

Everything on the menu is unusual or even unique (bacon and egg cream!). We were a group of three and ordered a la carte, because we thought 9 plates from the prix fixe menu would be too much (we were right). Everything was delicious, especially the pickled mackerel dip, the bluefish (actually whitefish) croquettes, the corned beef tongue, and the amazing cholent pot pie. Service was excellent (attentive but not intrusive, and good-humored). The only downsize was the noise, which mercifully decreased as people began to leave around 9:00.
