The menu at Abe Fisher includes classics with a twist, like chicken liver mousse, borscht tartare, cholent pot pie, Hungarian duck and veal schnitzel tacos. You can also get family-sized portions for certain items like Montreal smoked short ribs with homemade rye bread and mustard. For dessert at Abe Fisher, choose from an almond cake, apple tart, or the bacon and egg cream. There's also a full bar and a wide selection of amari.
Our server Allison was the best. Attentive, friendly and explained are many questions about the meal. Reserving the Montreal style Short Rib is a must! It is an experience and worth the money.
I was a bit underwhelmed with the food here. It was good and inventive, but not so good that I would be excited to come back. The restaurant itself was comfortable and had a nice atmosphere. The salmon was a bit plain, the Brussel sprout salad was good and the latkes had a crunchy outside and a mashed potato inside.
My favorite dinner while in town. Lovely staff who helped us with the menu and made our dining experience so pleasant. We went with the prix fixed side of the menu and loved each course!
What a fantastic meal. Not only was the food delicious, the service was phenomenal. I will recommend Abe Fisher to everyone!
Better food than expected.
The food, especially the Hungarian Duck Chinatown style tasting menu we got, was absolutely delicious and the portions were just right for two people. Service of the waiters and waitresses were very considerate and fantastic likewise and they described each dish when they brought it out one at a time, which was very helpful and nice. My date and I had a wonderful dinner experience there at Abe Fisher overall.
Incredible food and service! We had dietary restraints that were catered to perfectly. I highly recommend the tasting menu and the short ribs. Like none other.
We really enjoyed the prix fix menu and the waiters were very attentive and respectful. Definitely will go back!!
Food portions, though small, made taste buds explode. Very $$$. Annoyed that I was charged for a refill of ice tea, $4.00, considering the price of meal. We had the tasting menu at $75/pp
A very unique experience for our wedding anniversary. Service was pristine and really nice. Food menu is unique, Jewish Eastern Europe inspired, quite different from what we knew. We had a really nice evening.
Awesome as always. I have been here 5-6 times, I travel to Philly and try to hit this up as I can. Absolutely love it.
Chicken liver mouse is amazing
Tacos are signature item that is a must get
Looking forward to my next visit!
You really can’t go wrong with Abe Fisher!! They have a great mix of favorites with new menu items that just make for a fabulous meal. Couple favorites are the veal schnitzel tacos, bluefish croquettes, and borscht dip with potato chips. There are always great servers and the cocktails are unique too. If I could give six stars, I would.
Our 3rd visit- excellent as always! Great cocktails, friendly and attentive service. Delicious starters- homemade chips and rye bread, chopped liver, deconstructed beet borscht, latkes, brussel sprout Caesar salad, scrumptious food! Def pre-order the short ribs- more homemade rye bread,+ fixings...pickled cucumber slices, 3 kinds of mustard, pickled cabbage. Delicious desserts- apple pie, almond cake, and a chocolate- bacon mousse~all extraordinary, didn’t leave a crumb!
Wait staff was excellent. The food far exceeded my expectation and I wish we had more time to enjoy the meal but, we were pressured to make a show time.
Amazing , fabulous and more than we could have expected! Food was fantastic and the service was amazing. Everything Sarah suggested was perfect and we’ll definitely be back!
Server was very friendly, the food was phenomenal!
One of the best meals I ever had. The waitstaff is outstanding and the alcohol pairings were amazing. Can't wait to go back.
Had a great meal and the service was truly outstanding.
The food is amazing! We got the smoked short ribs and they were worth waiting for, but make sure to come hungry! All the small plates were so good that we could only get through half the short ribs (but took them home for a good lunch the next day). Highly recommend!
One of the best restaurants in the city. Every dish is incredibly well thought-out and meticulously prepared. Service is excellent. Price is reasonable based on what you get. Highly recommended.
Outstanding in every way. Best restaurant we have been to in Philadelphia.
The food was to die for! The service was above and beyond! But, like most newer restaurants, the ceilings are too high and the floor is bare so the noise level makes it difficult to enjoy a conversation or even hear waitstaff. Also, not that it's the restaurant's responsibility, but the recommended parking garage is awful and frankly, dangerous. Park somewhere else!
Quite possibly the most amazing dinner I’ve had in the city in a long time. Sarah was an amazing server and we lucked out being able to have the Montreal style short ribs. The were everything billed out to be. A perfect way to spend the night celebrating my gf’s new job.
Another great visit to Abe Fisher. Reserved table not ready for a few minutes so we enjoyed the bar with their Happy Hour drink menu. $7.00 for a Sauvignon Blanc and a lovely drink called No Need to Worry, a blend of bourbon, cynar and vermouth. Not my style, but my wife loved it- especially when ordered a 2nd time. Not much need for the menu as we were primed for the short ribs. Once seated, the dinner went from a meal to a special occasion. Abe Fisher staff is as professional and personable as one could want. We chose our small plates and the deliverance of superb food began. An amuse bouche of a cheese rugelach started dinner and it kept going. The appearance of the rugelach led us to compare Abe Fisher to our best New Orleans dining experiences which are our personal standards. We agreed, it passed the NOLA test. We grew up in NY and have been to every pastrami mecca in NYC and Long Island. We know there is no better experience than Katz's pastrami. However, there is no better pastrami than Abe Fisher's short ribs. Abe Fisher's inventive food, engaged staff, great vibe, all being shared with the one you love creates an evening that says come back again and again.
Special meal! In town for business and the restaurant was recommended by a friend. A real treat even solo. The wine list is creative and the food was delicious. Well done!
We were literally rushed through dinner. All 3 courses came out within 15 minutes and it seemed like they were just trying to get us out as fast as possible. Very disappointing experience for the money spent.
Incredible service, food was delicious
Philadelphia Restaurant Week was a great way to be introduced to this marvelous cuisine. Service was terrific - helping with questions and suggestions. Bacon & Egg Crème dessert is a must!
Went for restaurant week. The tasting menu was incredible. Every course was unique and delicious. The service was amazing. Will definitely be going back again!
There isn't enough room to list all the great things about Abe Fisher!! This was a birthday date and the services , food and atmosphere were simply perfect. We enjoyed every course - and watching the other items go by was great fun, as well. (We saw, but didn't try, the amazing short ribs...) You have to try Abe Fisher!
My girlfriend and I both agree that we had the best service that we have ever had! I believe our server's name was Alex. Top notch!
Amazing delicious food and drinks from the turmeric scotch sour to the incredibly layered pastrami onion jam chicken liver mousse to the bluefish croquettes to the incredible chocolate mousse smoked bacon egg creme for dessert! #droolworthy #gaygourmands
Great service and food, which in many places goes down during Restaurant Week. While the egg cream was a misstep (bacon was too overpowering), many of the other dishes were fantastic. Highlights were the brussels sprouts, beef tongue, braised chicken, beef tongue pot pie, and apple tart.
Our server sarah was amazing! Overall great experience.
This place was very different as I typically don’t eat this type of food. The broccoli with everything bagel toppings were good and the tilefish! Going back to try the ribs.
It overpromises and undelivers in the food department, but it’s a hoot nonetheless.
The servers were incredibly attentive.
Always enjoyable. Great staff. More than creative recipes. SUPERB!
The food was delicious and unique. The service was 5 stars even though they were very busy with restaurant week. Overall I would definitely come back and recommend Abe fisher.
Amazing kitchen and the service was just as exceptional. It is pricey, no question in that, but it is a place, where it is really worth it. We had an amazing time.
