Although we had no wine or appetizers or talk while eating, we were there mostly waiting during 2 1/2 hours which IMHO is excessive and clearly took away from what otherwise should've been a very positive experience. The waiter was nice and helpful but ultimately got too busy to attend to us as well, i.e., we waited a long time for him to return the credit card with the bill. So although the food was above and beyond and the cost with tip was $210 for two (without liquor), the waiting experience makes me wonder if it'd be worth the return.

Two of us had a ribeye which was fine, a filet which i heard was also fine. I had a tomato onion app salad which was generous but flavorless and my guest had an Abe and Louis salad which he liked. He had a vodka drink. We shared watery creamed spinach. The service was good. And the bill came to $160. My suggestion: if you want the same meal and you want all aspects of your dinner to be outstanding in a way nicer setting with a floor show of a bar scene and still spend the same dollars then go to New York Prime. Its the real deal. Abe and Louis gets their overflow and thats just the way it is.

What a beautiful restaurant and dining experience this was! We dined at Abe and Louie's when visiting Florida over our anniversary. I LOVED the tables for 2 along the side looking into the restaurant. What a great concepts since I'm never happy with seating for 2. The steaks were amazing - definitely try the bone-in versions. They were a real treat. Our service was wonderful as well and we are really looking forward to returning to Abe and Louie's next time we are in Florida!

I am never disappointed in the quality of the meat here. As a New Yorker, I am very particular. The servers are very friendly and attentive. The acoustics are not the best so make sure you sit away from any large dinner parties.

OK, so I bit the bullet and went there knowing exactly what I was getting into. A destination place, built more on reputation than anything else, with a crowd that is 65 and up. Sadly the reputation as an"oh you must go there!" restaurant, is not supported by there high priced menu or food quality.

5 of us had a bill over $300, one of my party only eating a salad for dinner.

My wife and I split the wedge salad which was drenched in so much bleu chees dressing that had us both scraping off the excess. We ordered the Porterhouse for two, medium rare. ($90) Now the average backyard griller can pull off a m/r steak. This is a steak house and they should know how to cook a thick porterhouse (basically a Tuscan style porterhouse). Done right it takes a good 20 minutes to cook, with time to rest. It arrived looking grey, and literally cold in the middle. Seriously? It's been 30 years since I sent back a plate for more fire. The level of cooking expertise in kitchens nationwide is much higher these days and a renowned steakhouse sends out cold meat???? Shameful. The meat came back tough, grisly, and flavorless. The meat was cooked improperly, and clearly not allowed to rest. For $90 I've had better meals at less renowned places.

It's funny because there are so many people who will swear that this is the best place in the world. It's just another one of those places in PBC where style is much more than substance, and being seen somewhere is much more important than getting a well prepared meal. The service is old school, and they fall all over you. But the food falls way short of that level or service. Yet the elderly masses keep drinking the Kool-Aid and coming back like lemmings walking to the edge of the cliff. This type of service and much better food are available in many other places, for much less money.

We went with our 9 month old. He is very sweet and friendly lots of staff came to say hello as he was the only child in there. but noise level was perfect to have a conversation and even of he was fussy it wouldn't have disrupted anyone. steak was delicious, wine was chilled perfectly and staff was amazingly attentive. We added it to our favorite list.

The bartender left a lot to be desired. After giving me the bar menue within 2 seconds wanted my order. Ordered a martini and did not advise me about stuffed olives. When we were told our table was ready She not offer to send the bill and drinks over. I carried my own drink to the table as the hostess didn't offer to take it. Overall for such a pricy dinner the service greatly lacked.

While we live in a place where Abe and Louie's competition are both Morton's and Ruth Christie's , a visit to this particular restaurant was a pleasant yet not outstanding experience. One thing that I would like to share is the way the young and untrained MC/hostess treated us, calling me 'hon" and being barely able to inform who would be our waiter, or anything else, for that matter.
I appreciate the food, it was fresh but not outstanding, and the menu did not present anything special, other than a good old steak house. I was surprised that the restaurant owners do not trouble themselves with more interesting menu items, precisely since this is a pretty competitive location. While it was not a bad experience, I would need some convincing to return. And maybe then, my 'hon' lady would move onto a restaurant that suits her...

Abe and Louie's is always a wonderful dining experience! Everything is A+! We were a party of six and two friends had never had the Abe &Louie dining experience before . By the end of our evening they quickly knew why we all had raved about dining here!
We travel from North Palm and will come again and again! It's well worth the trip down 95 even in the pouring rain!!!! Our server, Chad was delightful, pleasant and professional. We look forward to having him serve us again in the future.

As a steady customer of Abe & Louis for many years this time was a total disappointment. The steaks were overcooked and tuff--no flavor. The rib eyes were cut in size (and the cost went up)! When we tried to locate our waiter, he became invisable and by the time he surfaced it was after the fact. Staples that were on the menu for a long time have been removed --the creamless spinach for example. Disappointment! We will give the restaurant one more try as it was a favorite of ours and do hope for an improvement on the next visit.

At these prices one expects good food. My bone in ribeye was well done, the potato side hard and room temp. On the second try it was done medium-rare and was good. Not great. And this time the potatoe was steaming. The only seasoning they use is Lawrys I was told-wha?
My date's 3lb. lobster was hard as rubber. Profuse apologies and agreement with how overlooked everything was--just from the waiter.
NO management ever came over to apologize, which I found very surprising. If you can do it right, WHY NOT GET SOMETHING RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. I was there for a special bday, and extremely disappointed. I will NOT recommend this restaurant.

We have been to Abe & Louie's many times - but they had a lot of issues on Fathers Day -- The waiter was clear a fill in for the day - did not know the menu - did not know any of the things that make the restaurant special and ended up spilling the coffee all over my husband --
This is an expensive restaurant so there is no excuse for this

The food was not up to par either - Usually a guarantee for a great meal -
The steak was not cooked right and was served luke warm - maybe thats a function of the service problem - but it impacted the meal

We could not wait to leave

Very disappointed but I cant say wed never go back based on past visits- so that is why I would still recommend to give it a try

There is no better steakhouse in Boca than Abe and Louie's.....it is the epitome, top of the line in fine dining. The decor is warm and gentleman clubby with dark wood walls and comfortable booths. Service is exemplary. The side dishes are equally as tasty as the main courses, especially the creamed corn. Can't wait to return to this restaurant!

I have been to Abe and Louie's on many occasions and I always enjoy their food. This trip was no different. I love the steak tartare and the cuts of meat are the best in Boca Raton. My wife had the Salmon and it was delicious, albeit overcooked.

The problem with this visit was the waitress. Over the past decade, I cannot remember how many times I've been to this restaurant. Never have I had a worse experience with the server than I did with this woman. I wish I could remember her name so that I could warn visitors against sitting in her section. Matter what the table told her, she felt she always knew best. When we complained about the fact that the salmon was overcooked, she disagreed with us. When I ordered a rare steak, I specifically asked for a cold center knowing that this person would probably serve it at least medium rare. I was right.. On top of everything else, it took forever for us to get our food.

As always, the food was excellent. For this reason, we will go back. But I will never sit in this person section again because I will remember her. She made that much of a negative impression.

If only there were a 10 Star rating available! The AMAZING FOOD SERVICE & PREPARATION are on a par with the best dining experience possible. The clientele matches the ambiance! Tableside preparations, concerned and knowledgeable service, and a management team dedicated to customer satisfaction, all add up to a wonderful experience!!!
Shrimp cocktail as a starter, savory onion soup, superbly prepared steaks and roasts, perfectly prepared sides, and then, alas, no room for the amazing dessert offerings.
Can't wait to return!

They charged $4.50 for a glass of club soda of which the glass was mostly ice. They also made a whiskey sour on the rocks that was all rocks (ice).
We ordered a salad without onions but the salad was served with onions.
Just a terrible experience. We will never go there again. I informed them it was my fathers 89th birthday. I had to ask for a piece of cake with a candle 3 times and then they charge $11.00 for the piece of cake. You would think that $700.00 dinner could warrant a piece of cake on the house for his birthday!

It was a business lunch, as such it was good, service could have been better, no follow up on the food and I ordered a bottle of wine and the server just poured a huge glass, no opportunity to try first. Kind of amateurish for these prices.

We often visit the restaurant (live in area) and just feel the food is inconsistent. Have sent food back on several occasions during brunch. Though the service is very good, the food is not consistent. And the restaurant is in need of upgrading (new booths - seats are not padded well).

I wanted to try this steak joint for awhile now but it's a bit of a drive for me. I finally made the journey and it was well worth it. The experience was everything a prime steak house should be with amazing food, excellent service and a great wine selection. The only advise I can offer is bring your appetite because they are going to feed you well.
