Abe and Louie's - Boca Raton Ratings and Reviews
We loved it! Been to New York prime, Ruth’s Chris , Morton’s many times and I can honestly say the service the ambience the food, we enjoyed it so much more… Our waiter Alan was so attentive And personable… My favorite restaurant for sure for steak and seafood..
I had seared tuna that was worse than any that I have ever had. Totally without any seasoning and totally tasteless. The steak my son ordered was done to perfection but very tough and flavorless. Another meal was salmon, also far from delicious which was not what I would have expected. The risotto was good and flavorful. Not a dinner that I would want to repeat.
The eggs Benedict were so-so, eggs slightly overcooked, a bare minimum of Hollandaise sauce which was too thick, tough ham which had been grilled, English muffin barely toasted. The cappuccino was excellent, as was the butterscotch bread pudding—actually scrumptious!
The food & service were amazing. The price of all that greatness, however, was ridiculous. I know it's Boca so everything is overpriced, but there's no excuse for the prices to be that high. I decided on Abe and Louie's because I needed an appropriate "date night" place that I could get in and out of before a playoff game. In that respect, and for the food and service, it fit the bill perfectly. The bill on the other hand...
As usual, the food was very good. The marinated chicken breast was juicy and tender. The sauteed garlic spinach was excellent and perfectly cooked. However the service was a bit testy and definitely less than friendly. When I asked for the full wine list because it contains more options by the glass, I was greeted with resistance. When I complained about an upcharge for a change in vegetables, even thought it was never mentioned that there would be one, I had to get a manager involved. This is not the level of service that I am accustomed to at this restaurant. Hopefully, it is an a rare exception.
Unfortunately and surprisingly, the chef's special burger of the day was overcooked and not as tasty as anticipated. in the past the temperature was perfect, but this time it was 2 levels too far. Next time and regardless of time constraints, i will send it back.
Abe & Louie's is a 5 star restaurant that has always lived up to it's reputation.
Some may think it is expensive, but expensive is when you pay a lot for something that is not good.
If you go to a 5 star expect the cost to be at that level and this restaurant has earned the right to be listed as 5 star.
It is always consistently excellent. It is what one expects and gets.
Had dinner on Fri night. Extremely busy even at 9:30 pm. Arrived with reservation way early. Waited in bar and decided to eat at bar. Food good especially the blacken pork chop. Huge shrimp cocktail. Parking and service good. Very loud and primarily elderly customers. I would come back.
I have eaten at this location of Abe & Louis previously numerous times and at the Boston location numerous times as well when living in the Boston area.
But, the meal that myself and my friends shared at this location on stormy January 2nd with our waiter Charlie and his Team was as good as any dinner of Steaks that we have experienced in recent memory. If one is coming here for steak, one must have the Porterhouse for two, or at the very least the 16oz. New York Strip. Just truly outstanding.
The mediterranean salad is "to die for" and a nice way to start. The creamed spinach and
hash browns were more than adequate as well as the Key Lime Pie.
Though the food was good- the service was terrible and the steak was over cooked. This would be be acceptable for Outback, but not for a $55 steak. Our waiter sat down at our table to take our order, told us the specials weren’t good, and only poured the first glass out of the two bottles we ordered. Morton’s is down the street- they are a much better options!
