At first that sat a party of 3 at a table for 6. After speaking with management then moved us to a more appropriate table downstairs. After that our experience was much better - Food, service and ambiance much better downstairs.
Very nice waiter, great food.
Great night - the staff really made the event so special. Food was amazing, wine list excellent and Matthew our waiter was just outstanding. Highly recommend!
Very nice date night for my wife and I on a visit from South Carolina. Go Tigers!
When you have guests visiting and they request steak for dinner, this is the place to visit.
Very, very noisy. Excellent service. Mashed potatoes were very good but the sautèed mushroom tasted stewed
Filets were excellent! Our sides were spinach with mushrooms and new potatoes...excellent! Hall Cabernet was great choice! Waiter was knowledgeable, available and friendly.
Abe & Louie's is becoming our "go-to" in Boston. Great location near our favorite hotel and you just can't beat the steak tartare and great service, plus a list of "sides" that nearly beats out a filet.
Always enjoy Abe and Louie's- expensive but outstanding food and martinis
The entire meal was amazIng! Service was excellent.
Great experience as always.Highly recommend for any occasion
Excelente brunch, buen ambiente , buen servicio , el grupo de jazz muy bueno
Abe and Louies is a Boston institution. I have been going for years and the food, service and ambiance is outstanding. The restaurant is consistently excellent over the years.
They were so rude. There’s no sign at all and I wasn’t even asked while entering. But almost when I was about to eat my meal I was transgressed by the hostess who asked me to take my hat off.
The steaks are always cooked perfectly! I just wish they wouldn't seat people so close together. It felt as if we were sharing our Anniversary dinner with the couple next to us.
Very good steaks , good service , but when we arrived we were
All eight of us agreed that our evening at Abe & Louie's was outstanding! The drinks and food were both top quality as well as our waiter, Amos. He was a big part of making our evening a most memorable one for the books! Thank you Amos!
Great food, good atmosphere, easy to get a reservation
I visited the restaurant twice during my time in Boston last weekend (9/13-9/15). Both meals and the serious was fabulous. On the first visit I ordered the Bone in Rib Eye which was so tender, filling and juicy . I took the left overs to the hotel for my wife. On Sat I had the Blackend Salmon which was good but not fabulous because the blackening was a bit heavy and somewhat salty. My wife had the salmon on a piece of Salmon and she said it was incredible. I will plan to return there for dinner when I come back to Boston!
My favorite spot on Boylston St! Everything on the menu is great! Perfect brunch spot. Recommend sitting outside if weather permits. Very professional service and consistently amazing.
Great service. Good wine list. Menu doesn't have the melt in your mouth prime rib but the meat is good and the portions huge. Accompaniments good quality veg.
Excellent food and exceptional service! We celebrated our anniversary here and it was absolutely wonderful.
The only problem with A&L is the portions are to big, I ended up by giving my steak to homeless guy on Boylston Avenue. Next time I will ask for half a portion and hope that will be ok.
Nice time as always. Impeccable service. Nice fillet mignon. Lobster casserole slightly overdone.
Good food every time. Huge portions. But expensive.
If you like noisey, traditional steak houses then Abe&Louie’s is the place for you. Cold beers, good cocktails and a kilker menu for all comers! One of Boston’s must do restaurants.
The service and the food was absolutely A-1 , I enjoyed every single bite! It was my first time there but it definitely will not be my last time, I treated myself to a dinner for my birthday and it was fantastic!
I would have rated it higher, but the noise level was quite high. It was difficult to hear what the others were saying. If you don't care to have conversation, then the restaurant is very good.
Still the best around! Bone in filet was spectacular!
I'm never disappointed coming here. The priciness keeps it from being a regular dinner spot, but every once in a while it is worth saving some extra for a nice night out with my wife. The steak is the best in Boston and I always get it when I come here. The atmosphere is everything I'd want in a romantic night on the town. From appetizers to entree's, the food is all around outstanding.
Nicest restaurant I've been to! Looking forward to the day I come back.
Fun experience. Staff attention to customer. Food is great, steaks, bacon. Ask for Bobby Dee.
Solid Dover Sole—though I have had better in the city—with solid waitstaff and great bartenders upstairs. Excellent selection of wine. Steaks were outstanding
Excellent appetizers (crab meat cocktail, tuna tartare), excellent steaks and sides. Wait staff is very attentive, mixed drinks were tasty.
Only thing is that the restaurant started quiet around 5:45PM on a Tuesday, and became extremely loud and boisterous within an hour. Couldn't hear my dining partner anymore. Not related to the restaurant, just the general ambiance, so I wouldn't go here for a quiet romantic dinner.
Been many many times before and will continue. It’s our high end fallback for lunch in the city. But this time I didn’t like the waiter’s table help bringing the courses. He aggressively even borderline rudely moved plates and glasses around, even said to my d-in-law when she tried to make room not to do that, I’ll do it. And he left my wife’s filet there even though she was barely through her chopped salad. But our waiter was very good, attentive, and your bartender was great before we sat down in the dining room. He topped off my Allagash after I bravely asked him what the 30-year old MacCallan went for. Yikes.
First class from top to bottom! This was a business meeting that needed to impress and they delivered. I cant imagine the work and detail that goes into plating 15 different pieces of meat all cooked differently at the same time and right on target. Amazing.
As always Abe & Louie’s did not disappoint.. Had friends visiting for the weekend and they were also happy with food portions and service.. so many restaurants to choose from in Boston and this is my FAVORITE
Overall, just a great restaurant with excellent service.
Not inexpensive, but worth every dollar.
No disappointment here.
The food and service were both excellent. Order 1/2 portions, when possible. Definitely making another visit in the future!
