Great night! All around awesome meal
We love going to Abe and Louie's when we're in Boston - and they make it that much better with their attention to service... excellent food and ambiance add to the experience. We had a wonderful anniversary celebration - thank you!
The food was good but the service was disappointing, especially for a restaurant where your tab for a cocktail, dinner and wine runs $150+. We went for dinner at 4pm on a Sunday and the restaurant was not at all busy. We were promptly welcomed and then seated. We then had to wait a while for our server to take our drink order and also to deliver our drinks. During this time another waiter walking by our table asked us if a server had been by to greet us. After finishing a salad we realized we were not offered a basket of bread. After an unsuccessful wait for our server to reappear, we finally resorted to asking the water server if they could help us get some bread. When our meals were brought to our table, our salad and bread dishes were still on the table, leaving no room for the meal dishes and making for an awkward presentation. The water server and wine sommelier were great.
Great location. Awesome food. The bar was rather loud which overflowed into the dining area. Still overall excellent Resturant
An exceptional meal at an exceptional restaurant. Everything was just wonderful, great service, great wine, impeccable food. No quibbles at all.
It's a high end restaurant, it's not cheap, so that's only getting a good star, but it's no more expensive than you'd expect.
Brilliant restaurant and evening thank you.
We always love going to Abe & Louie's when we are in Boston, it is one of our favs as the food is always yummy and the service is top notch. It was quite a busy Saturday night when we were there and we sat upstairs. I actually prefer the downstairs dining room. I will remember that for next time. I would give 4.5 stars for this experience. Thank you!!!
Amazing grass fed filet mignon!!
Great steak...porterhouses for two was the best I’ve had
Overall the food as meh for the price. Over rated and over priced
Birthday celebration . One of the best burgers and fries in Back Bay. The server gave the birthday girl a chocolate cake with ice cream with three candles, complimentary! Nice touch.
Get the bacon
We love Abe & Louie's! The food is always spectacular. What makes it special is its service. The staff does a tremendous job. This is our go to restaurant in Boston!
I’ve been to a lot of steak houses and this is my favorite!
The food and service was amazing
Great overall as usual
Food is consistently delicious, and our waiter was fantastic--professional and attentive. Bartender (who was working at the 1st floor bar, but I typically encounter at the upstairs bar), was friendly as always--I appreciated the cheese and crackers that he insisted I enjoy with my 1 quick glass of wine.
For the overall experience, Abe and Louie's is the best steak house in Boston. The food is outstanding and their breads are particularly good. The service is always good .
Excellent service and food! Our server was fantastic! Abe & Louie's never disappoints! Best in Boston!!
Dined for our son's 18th Birthday! The staff was attentive and knew the occasion
from our immediate arrival.
Outstanding service, we told them it was our Anniversary when making the reservation and they brought us out a complimentary slice of cake and ice cream at the end of the meal!
Love that bar. Had wonderfully attentive service from Sonny.
An altogether wonderful evening with my family... service, food, atmosphere were exceptional.
As always Abe & Louis is a wonderful dining experience. We brought a good friend out to celebrate her birthday and it was her first time there. She hasn't stopped thanking us for a wonderful dinner. A++++
I've been to Abe & Louie's many times. The food is always great and the service is great as well. The only problem is the ambience. The noise level is so bad it is difficult to carry on a conversation. The dining room is crowded especially at tables for two which adds to the problem. I would recommend A & L to a friend but I would warn them that it's more a good eating experience than a good dining experience.
Great food and service. Classy atmosphere.
We love Abe & Louie's. However, this time, we were barely greeted by the hostesses. We were sat next to a row of 4 small tables for two with about a foot in between each. When we were sat, the couple next to us was clearly uncomfortable about how close we were (so were we!). Our waiter luckily was outgoing, helpful, and set the tone for the rest of our meal. The food was great as usual. Unfortunately, though, despite a reminder to the hostess stand that it was my boyfriend's birthday, they did not pass the message and did nothing special to celebrate this occasion, so I had to tell the waiter in front of my boyfriend when he asked if we wanted dessert.
Overall, very satisfied with the food and service. Hostess stand is the first impression made and could use some work.
Always a great brunch experience
This restaurant is one of my favorites in Boston. Consistently excellent cuisine and service. Vast menu and wine selections - sophisticated atmosphere.
we will be rnjoy the dinner next visitinng to Boston.
My son’s dinner was excellent. He had the French onion soup and the Australian Wagu.
My steak was undercooked and they took a long time returning it. Even then, it was no better. I think they may have just microwaved it...Very disappointing
Friend in from out of town
Steak, as one might guess, was superb. Appetizers of escargot was pedestrian however. Great service and atmosphere. Appetizer knocked a star off the overall rating.
Bobby was a great waiter, attentive to
All our needs, food was perfect! Prime
Rib was great , glad they brought it back, hope it stays on the menu!
My family and I have dined there on several occasions and the food quality, food preparation and wait staff has always been consistently excellent. I just wouldn’t go there to try to catch up with people you haven’t seen in a while since it is very loud and hard to have conversations.
Our server was wonderful. My husband and son enjoyed their steaks and sides (not all). My steak was cooked properly but not very flavorful. The clams casino was the biggest disappointment. Huge clams with a piece of bacon on top. No discernible seasoning. The green beans were overcooked but the creamed corn was fabulous.
Great experience highly recommend
Always a great experience with fantastic food and professional service at Abe and Loui’s! One of our favorite “go to” spots when in Boston!
Excellent experience! Best steak I have ever had! Service was outstanding!
The food was well worth the price! Charismatic servers. Quickly got food but didn’t feel rushed
We had a wonderful dinner. The burrata was excellent and the prime rib was good perfectly. Our server was quite attentive and never left us looking for him.
