Very experienced waiter. Did not rush us. We had a good time. He knew when to come by and gave us enough time to eat each course.
My husband and I went to Abe and Louie’s for our 21st wedding Anniversary. The wait staff were excellent and the food was incredible. Would highly recommend
Loved it! While my husband enjoyed his salmon steak, I was able to get a vegetable plate to fit my vegan needs which was delicious! There are so many choices for both of us, we'll definitely be back!
The service was INCREDIBLE! Food really good. Definitely coming back
We were celebrating my son’s graduation from Boston College. What a great experience!
Some larger parties made the noise level louder, but overall a great experience. Open Table allows for guests to select the occasion for the reservation, but rarely do restaurants take notice. The hostess at Abe and Louie’s greeted us with a “congratulations on your anniversary!”, and informed our server - making our experience feel even more special.
We didn’t feel rushed to order or eat, which was great. The food was amazing, worth every penny.
Would recommend for date night, special occasion, and celebration.
First time here; excellent food and service. Great expression martinis too! We’ll definitely go back.
Had a spectacular time at Abe & Louie's, great atmosphere and our waiter was very prompt and helpful with our meal selection since it was our first time there. He also made great conversation every once in a while that kept the meal lively. The wine selection was great and they even had someone come help us with our selection. Delicious meal, minimal food wait time, and spectacular service.
Overall a 4. Waiter was dismissive to questions.( At least 2 times). Wrong (2/3 ) of sides delivered to table were incorrectly delivered and removed when we told person they were not our. Correct sides came soon after.
We waited a very long time for desserts ( after dinner coffees were completely consumed before we got our deserts (20 minutes??
Disappointed with bread basket.
Cocktails excellent. Beef delicious.
The waiter had been there for 17 years and he was fabulous. The food was the best and it was a wonderful dining experience. I had my 13-year-old grandson with me and we had a marvelous time
I cant wait to go again
Great experience. Food, service, and location were great. Tables were a bit too tight. We would go back!
We celebrated a graduation and had the absolute best meal, time, service and everything. Walter our waiter was superb. Thank you for making such a special event for my daughters big day!!!
Food was ok, but nothing spectacular. Service was really good.
Great service. Wait staff was spot on. Food was GREAT
We love Abe and Louie's. Try to get there any time we're in Boston.
Perfect place for a business lunch. Requested a quiet area for a business meeting; the manager put us in a booth away from the noise, so we could hear each other. The service was attentive, the food was perfect and the meeting was productive. Only good things to say; this place knows its way around a business lunch!
I brought my lady, as it was her first time and she was very impressed by the crab cakes, the steak, the mashed potatoes, as well as her drink. I also very much enjoyed my meal as well
The best steak and wide selection of wine I have seen in the city! We went just prior to the Sox game, so attire was no issue. Plan on about $100 per person if you want the highest quality meat and moderate bottle of wine...
The steaks are excellent, the service A1. great place for an special occasion. 100% recommended
I always love an evening at Abe and Louie’s. It never lets me down. Service is impeccable!
The service and the food were unsurpassed. Fantastic!
Perfect way to celebrate our graduate. Great food. Excellent service. Atmosphere was just right with regard to noise level and feeling comfortable.
Always a treat. The entire family looks forward to the event which is Abe & Louie’s. Great seafood and no better steaks! Can’t wait to go back.
Service was excellent. Steak was cooked to perfection. The chocolate cake and the butterscotch bread pudding were absolutely delicious!
Food was excellent- service was great. Menu prices have increased- a little pricey
I made a reservation requesting a booth for my husband and I about a week before. When we got there, we were sat at a tiny table among 4 other tiny tables with chairs on one side, and a long booth on the other side. Clearly, not what I requested. After expressing our displeasure to the manager after seeing at least two available booths, he just said they're reserved. By the way, a lady was also seated in the same type of situation as us, but complained about the lighting and was moved into a booth. We could plainly hear the conversations of the people on both sides of us, so we didn't say much. I guess we're chopped liver.
Me and my daughter went to Abe and Louie's on Saturday after going on several occasions and were disappointed at how the food was not great. We ordered a lobster salad and an Abe and Louie salad with steak. The food arrived in minutes - before our drinks order - and it was obvious that the food had been premade. The lettuce was old and discolored and strawberries had been added to the lobster salad, an odd choice to go with the olives. Other than the two salads, we only had sparkling water and our bill came to almost seventy dollars. Expensive and disappointing. We could have had a better salad in a deli for a third of the price.
I ordered off the brunch menu and had the lobster and shrimp omelette. It was excellent and fresh. My husband had the del monico which was made just right. The highlight of the meal was the fries. They must soak in something before frying it. They were some of the best fries I’ve ever had.
We seem to always have a great experience at Abe’s. I do recommend the brunch over dinner as it gets much louder at night.
As usual, the food was excellent and service was great. The special Fillet Bone-In, was perfect and tasty. Overall, Abe and Louise's is on par or maybe better than places like the Capital Grille, Ruth Chris's, etc... It is a must for our visits to Boston Back Bay.
I've been looking forward to coming here for a while now however was left very disappointed. The service was sub-par and the food was poorly cooked.
Ordered the Porterhouse for Two to be medium to medium-rare however, the steak came out so rare we chose not to finish it (which is not what you want for a $90 steak). I will say the end of the steak was very tasty as it were cooked more - but it was very clear that the steak was not evenly cooked. People at work rave about Abe and Louie's so maybe it was a fluke, but I would expect more consistency from this place.
Other than a business dinner, I'd be hard-pressed to return anytime soon.
Great, consistent food. Servers are friendly and attentive.
Disappointing. My friends BIrthday, she wanted to go here because it is her favorite place. They were attentive to the notes in the reservation and the wait staff was exceptional. However, the food not and for the price tag, irratating. We both ordered the lobster salad, mine was 'mehh" unflavorful and not worth the price. We also share a crab cake appetizer, we thought there would be two, can't remember though, but it was tasty, but not as good as last visit. I will not be encouraging another visit there. I can't justify spending that kind of money for just a "mehh" meal. I'm happy to fork over money on an exceptional meal experience.
Would recommend to a friend and did. Brought 3 people I worked with while in town for work. Told them I would go a lone if they didn’t want to come with me. This was my second time and it was even great. Had the lobster casserole it was awesome. The rest of the group said it was their best meal of the week as it was for me. Will be back
Food, Service, Drinks all on point. Abe & Louie’s did NOT disappoint. Having one in South Florida who thought Boston would be my first experience.
My husband and I were celebrating his birthday. Steak was cooked to perfection, service was perfect and our waiter comped dessert (key lime pie to die for).
Amazing food and ambiance. I would thoroughly recommend Abe & Louise’s.
I’ve been to Abe & Louie’s multiple times and I am disappointed to say I don’t think I will be going back. We ordered a bottle of wine, prime porter house steak (serves 2) and lobster Mac and cheese. When we received our medium-rare steak, it was served on a wooden board and was cold to touch. We notified our server and he took it back. He said they used to serve the steaks on a hot plate and that’s why there was a difference. Once he returned with the same steak, it was overcharred and over cooked. He did not come back to check on us after he left the steak the second time. The staff who came and picked up our plates asked if we wanted to take the rest of our meal home and we gracefully declined. He asked if we were sure, and we smiled and said yes. He then asked if everything was okay and we let him know about our experience. He was Very pleasant and understanding and we are thankful for his level of professionalism. One of the managers did come to our table and offered us dessert or any thing else and we said thank you but declined. He asked about our experience and was also attentive and ended up taking the bottle of wine off our tab.
I would have rathered enjoying the food than a complimentary bottle of wine but that was just not our experience. Unfortunately, my desire to ever go back is miniscual.
