ABC Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Came here for our first wedding anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious. We went to Italy for our honeymoon and the pizza appetizer we had reminded us of our honeymoon in the Amalfi Coast. I had the Hake entree which was incredible and cooked to perfection, my husband had the fried chicken which he said was the best he ever had. Overall a wonderful experience! They also brought us a little chocolate treat at the end of the night for our anniversary, which was so sweet.
We went for a special experience birthday dinner, but we didn't inform the restaurant about this fact till ordering pre-dinner drinks in the bar. They nonetheless acknowledged the birthday and made it extra special quite effortlessly. And of course every course was absolutely delectable!
I brought a good friend here for a birthday celebration and we had excellent service and delicious meals. The staff was attentive but not over solicitous. The food was just as we hoped for and the desserts were great also.
Our server Sophie and the manager Yoki both contributed to the overall enjoyment of our experience. Please let them both know how much we appreciated our time there.
Such a beautiful restaurant! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, and we were just totally blown away. We're both very design-minded people (he's a creative consultant, and I'm a photo editor), and we both found the space just so aesthetically gorgeous. Food is expensive but well worth the price. Great for a special occasion -- super romantic lighting, fancy and delicious dishes and plenty of options. Lots of vegetarian options too.
It had been 4 years since I'd been to ABC Kitchen, and I'm not sure why I waited for so long, especially after the pleasant dinner I had. Two of my friends shows up 20 minutes late, but the hosts made no issue of it and had our table ready for us to immediately go to. We were very hungry once we sat down, so it was great that they brought out the appetizers (crab toast and pizza) and drinks promptly. Each of hour entrees were even better (a shared cheeseburger and pork confit). Lastly, the dessert (sundae) was very special because the host and waiter saw the note I left for them to write a special note for my cousin who was visiting for a couple of interviews for dental school. It really was the cherry on top. Of course the service was professional and greatly appreciated. I shall be returning sooner than waiting another 4 years!
My husband and I went to dinner for my birthday. The servers were attentive and friendly. We went on a snowy evening, so it was not crowded and we were able to enjoy a quiet meal. It's an open space, so it might be louder when the restaurant is completely full. We started with the meat and cheese platter and some cocktails (vodka thyme lemonade and ginger margarita). The lemonade was delicious, smooth, and not boozy. The ginger margarita could have used a little more ginger. I had the roasted hake and my husband had the burger. Everything on my plate was delicious. The hake was flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were crispy and salty. I particularly loved the butternut squash. We shared the sundae, which was decadent. The salted caramel ice cream was lovely. I liked the candied peanuts better than the candied popcorn.
I loved the food . The waiter service was excellent. My main complaint was that I had a twelve thirty reservation, which I made with open table. At that time the main inside of the restaurant had many open tables. The person in charge of seating had a server direct my friend and I to a table outside the main dining room facing the main floor of abc carpet. When I objected to this, they “found “another unacceptable table. When I objected to walking back down through the restaurant they finally seated us in the main dining room at a very nice table. Unfortunately this experience stayed with me throughout , and put a damper on what would ordinarily have been a nice experience. I always believe this an example of a believing that that two women, dining deserve and will put up with inferior seating.
I love ABC and have gone there on more than a few special occasions and have eaten at the bar. While our first server on this late lunch was lovely, i must admit to being slightly disappointed with this meal. The salmon was way too rare. Also, my husband was sitting at the bar and ordered food and when my friend and i tried to add him to our table we were told he couldn't sit with us because the kitchen was closed. that was totally random and made no sense considering he had already ordered food and it was on his way. the bartender was lovely but our waiter clearly just wanted us to clear out. That's not cool given the cost of our salads and apps. Finally, the entrance smelled like Fabrese. that was surprising and unpleasant given this is an Jean Georges establishment. Days later i ate at Union Square Cafe and was further reminded why i love Danny Meyer hospitality.
Service was extremely poor, food was average, plates were unwashed proper and one dinner plate has cracks on the edge when a waitress was asked to change the plate she asked us is it too sharp to eat from it. Then she begins putting some stuff from the plate to the table instead of taking it out it to the kitchen and change the plate. No comments
I have been to ABC Kitchen a few times, but this was one of the best ones. The manager, who’s name escapes me (I want to say it began with a “Y”) was kind, courteous, and generous when our food took longer than they anticipated. To note, the food was not necessarily late to arrive, but the service at ABC is exceptional. Thank you!
The service was awful, second visit in a week. Took ages to get water, bread, drinks, nobody is ever your "server" @ ABC! Food is fabulous, they said they were comping 2 glasses of wine re endless wait, they forgot, we did not. Several servers are really rather smug or something, as if they have forgotten guests are a pre req.
it's in a great spot, food excellent, service not so much.
The decor was confused and not very attractive -- poorly mixed modern furniture with vintage dishes. The music was far too loud as well as inappropriate for dinner hour on Christmas Eve and the food merely passable -- congealed and lumpy pasta, tuna "sashimi" which was drenched and soaking in a puddle of soupy sauce which tasted bottled. There was nothing attractive about the presentation -- quite the opposite and the tuna slices had to be fished out, dripping sauce. The collard greens were sadly overwhelmed by hot oil and rubbery....what a disappointment overall.
