What Insiders Are Saying
After five years in business, ABC Kitchen is still pretty. But after a recent change in chef, the food is just pretty good.
Over all 10
We went for a birthday celebration and everything was great! Food was amazing as always, and the ambiance was perfect for a nice lunch. Not too loud and the service was impecable. Would definitely recommend celebrating special occasions here!
Great meal....especially crab toast and sashimi tuna. Friendly and professional waitstaff. It could be difficult to find because the sign is very small. Just check out the “street view” before showing up and you won’t have a problem.
So disappointed! Terrible food with lack of taste. Server was rushing us all the time. Definitely not coming back
The restaurant was so noisy that it triggered a migraine headache. I couldn’t talk to my husband across the table without almost screaming! Bibb salad with Chicken Paillard totally tasteless as it wasn’t a salad at all, just some lettuce spread out on a plate with cold and overcooked chicken plopped on top. My husband Iikes the French toast that is the only reason we go there.
Everything was delicious, staff had great recommendations. Cheddar biscuits and donuts amazing
Food is delicious, and staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Food had no seasoning or flavor. I was so disappointed because the restaurant is really pretty and the waiters were so friendly and helpful!
Excellent farm to table restaurant in a cool neighborhood. Creative healthy and fresh options. Loved the atmosphere. Great bar. Great drinks. Wanted to order everything on the menu. Loved the squash toast.
Great menu and wine selection. Lovely ambiance and farm to table food selection. Thoroughly recommend ordering a number of dishes like the squid, cured meat and cheese board, crab toast and so on and so on. Highly recommend a reservation on Open Table as the restaurant was very busy.
Food was terrific, the sea bass has been on the menu for 6+ years for a reason. Service was great and we would definitely eat @ ABC Kitchen again.
So pleasant! Everything was delightful!
This was recommended by a friend as her favourite place to eat in NYC and it did not disappoint!!
Great food and beautiful space - really healthy creative bites. But if you’re in the mood for more brunch food- go on the weekend. Week days there really isn’t traditional brunch.
The food was delicious.
The restaurant had great lighting and ambience. The atmosphere is very lively with lots of energy. We personally found it a bit too noisy and somewhat hard to hear each other talk. The courses came very quickly and our dining experience ended up being faster than we would've liked. Got the feeling table turning was part of the vibe.
Food is excellent. Service was strangely aloof and delayed. We had to call over a server after being seated with water for 15 minutes. It is ear-splitting loud for dinner. They must have changed the acoustics somehow. We've been here several times and loved and food, service, and ambience. Now, the food is still excellent but the lackluster service and noise is too much to bear. I feel old complaining about the noise but something was definitely different from our last visit several months ago.
The menu is great .. healthy and delicious. A little too dark (couldn't read menu) and a little too loud .. but other than that a great meal.
We had to wait 30 mins to get our table even though we had a reservation. The hostess was so rude which didn’t even help the situation
Service was excellent no question about it. Nothing fabulous or need to go back and have again on the menu. Way too noisy. Disappointed
I loved everyhing execpt the food, in general, were pretty salty- calamari came out very salty, we had to send back. It was the dipping sauce that was very salty. The ambiance was excellet so was the services. Would go back but will ask to make sure the foods are seasoned subtle.
Love the space, it’s lively and happy. Food is great of course. One of my favorites in Flatiron.
Outstanding food at a fair price. I left satisfied, happy, and feeling physically terrific; no small feat considering how much I ate. The carrot and avocado salad is a must.
We had a great time at ABC Kitchen. We were celebrating my birthday and the place was just perfecto for this. Our food took a while to arrive but when it did it was worth the wait. Thank you.
I took my friends who were visiting in New York. Personally, I loved beets salad with yogurt very much. Their vegetables are so local, fresh and tasty. We had seafood dishes as main course and they all are good, too. Especially Black Sea Bass. Only thing I wasn't pleased by was our table. Though I booked table very advance and asked them for nice one, they gave us in the middle/near the end of dining area that locates near waiters' station and I didn't like it.
The decor and ambiance are lovely. The food is good but fairly high priced for a brunch in the city, seemed like we had dinner prices. The service was friendly but the pace of food really needs to be worked on, service was just too slow and not attentive
Went for brunch and had a blast. The room is quite loud when full but was pleasant when down to about 80% of capacity. The food was inventive and well prepared. All of the dishes were spot on in terms of flavor and texture combinations. The service was very nice. I would go back anytime it isn't completely full.
The seasonal kabocha squash and ricotta toast is a must - best dish of the night! The tuna sashimi was very small though so I'd pass on this.
Almond dessert dry and disappointing. Service a bit hit and miss
Beautiful space and friendly, knowledgable service, but the food was underwhelming.
Service is outstanding with a very friendly staff. Food was delicious and very different from other restaurants.
One of the very best restaurants in nyc. Not a bad item on the menu. Staff is efficient, friendly, and not overly pretentious. Great for a business lunch
Experience was incredible
We were sat in a corner in chairs that were too low for the table. Asked to move but they were unable. Food exceeded expectations!
Poor service, super noisy, food was great and interesting except the desserts was way too sweet. They forgot our birthday celebration and my boyfriend didn’t got his candle like they usually do.
You can hear every conversation around your table it’s not really the place for a romantic night.
Good food. Service was lackluster. I have been to ABC kitchen a number of times but our server wasn’t that great this time around-was disinterested/not engaged. Didn’t have many recommendations when we asked about the menu. Maybe it was an off night. The bartender and host were good, though.
The food and atmosphere were great. But the service was really terrible for both our table and ones next to us.
We had to flag someone down after 15 minutes to take a drink order which took another 8 to 10 minutes to come. The gentleman at the table next to us had to get up from the table to find someone to take his 2nd drink order.
Ordering and getting our food also took a while.
The shocker was that our reservation was at 6:00 pm on a Thursday night and the restaurant was not full yet.
Busboys was great though.
There isn’t much you wouldn’t like about ABC. The food is to die for, from the Tuna appetizer to the entrees of Black Bass and Salmon both cooked to perfection. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about all and on the ball. Can’t wait to return.
Delicious, great service, one of my favorite spots!
