What Insiders Are Saying
After five years in business, ABC Kitchen is still pretty. But after a recent change in chef, the food is just pretty good.
Just landed in NYC this afternoon from Canada and ABC Kitchen was the first restaurant we had been to - it did not disappoint! A
Our service was outstanding., some of the best I’ve had! Food was excellent and ABC is a very cool atmosphere! Highly recommend!
They are really good. The food tastes great and the waitress is very understanding.
Food is good and ambiance was nice but you’re pushed to eat very quickly to make space for the next customers, as a result it becomes an unpleasant and disappointing experience, especially for the price ...
It wasnt good i only liked the crab toast, and it was so expensive compared to the low quality of food I got, I was expecting more since uts very known in nyc
ABC Kitchen always delivers on the quality and creativity of the food. The service, however, is generally slow and distracted. It's never fun to have to expedite one's lunch...
The food was delicious; the servers could not have been nicer; we could have stayed all day, but other places to be.
They charge for water... $7 .... but the food more than makes up for it
Our server was slow, inattentive and not accommodating. He was sniffing and sweating profusely. It was a terrible experience. We love ABC kitchen and eat there often. We will be taking a break from this restaurant.
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! My birthday dinner and dessert were delicious :)
this is one of my favorite restaurants ..... but it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO loud. My sister is hard of hearing and i can't take her here unless we read each other's lips. it really is too loud. the food is delicious and the service is great... and i get the design might not support any sound dampeners but Damn!!
Crab toast wasn’t really out of the world, as many people suggested.
Loved the mushroom pizza and the carrots were surprisingly flavorful.
Gimlet and gin negroni paired well with food
Topped it off with a popcorn caramel sundae with hot chocolate fudge and I was a happy bird.
Year after year, ABC doesn’t disappoint. Always fresh, interesting, delicious. And thhe staff is amazing. Never had better and lovelier service than this last visit. ❤️
One of servers was very pleasant, another downright rude. Although the physical building was a nice ambience, the chairs & table were cafeteria- like. The drinks were small & full of ice. Desert average. Pizza good. Fish average.
Service was negligent and sloppy. Business dinner and I was embarrassed by the lack of attention. Plates not cleared. Silverware not replaced. Wine not poured. AWFUL
Service was somewhat slow, we waited for almost 20 min after being seated before a waiter approached (and we had to ask someone to please send a waiter). Food was excellent. A little loud (def not a place to have a quiet conversation). Extremely smart, well thought- out menu.
Excellent food. Pretty good service. Very attractive dining room. But noise level excessive. Makes conversation difficult.
Well-prepared dishes, some outstanding, from carefully-sourced ingredients.
Service was busy but appropriately attentive.
The loudest restaurant I ever have eaten in. I measured the sound level using an app on my phone (Decibel X) and it averaged 84 with a max of 93. With tables so close together you're at the mercy of people at the next table trying to be heard above the din. It was difficult to hear the servers.
The noise level was unbearable.
Atmosphere attractive, food was well executed with interesting combination of ingredients, service was non existent on our particular visit. Looked like enough staff, our waiter was just absentee. Will try another time.
ABC Kitchen is amazing. The food and service are part of the reason why I will choose always ABC.
Best food we had in NYC. Absolutely loved the restaurant. Cozy decor, great atmosphere, everything organic and carefully chosen. And the food is soo tasty. If we weren't leaving already I would defenitely come back to this restaurant.
Service was very inattentive and slow.
Been there several times, one of my go to restaurant. Only issue is, u need to book a table way in advance for dinner
We celebrated a birthday and the experience was excellent. They didn’t rush us at the table, the food was delicious and unique. The atmosphere is great - quaint, eclectic farmhouse style. And the service was excellent.
Really really loud -- hard to hear our dining companions at Sunday brunch. While we still sipping coffee and visiting, the staff came and literally took our placemats our from under us and we had only been there 1 hour. Sheesh!
Celebrated my sisters birthday in the city, ABC Kitchen was more than gracious with their service even bringing a birthday dessert after brunch. Food was amazing, and service was above and beyond anything we expected. Highly recommend the french toast, bloody mary, coffee, and splurging for that extra side of bacon!
Son in from LA. We always enjoy ABC Kitchen. It’s our exact type of Food
Food was okay but it was expensive and didn’t look particularly appetizing. For what it’s worth I’ve been to 200+ restaurants in NYC. The ambiance was nice, I would come back if I wasn’t paying.
Food was amazing.
Great experience for a special occasion. I love all the ABCs - you should try them all!
Love love Abc kitchen!!! Yum the ricotta is amazing!!!
Absolutely delicious menu. All dishes are packed with flavor. The ambiance is beautiful, although noisy and hard to hold a conversation unless close.
Chicken Paillard on kale salad was just what I wanted.
The food is incredible but holy moly is it loud in there and so so dark! Everyone had their cell phone lights on just to see the menu. And the staff is overly-attentive as in I don't need my water filled the second I take a sip. It's a little much.
It is WAY too loud for a business lunch. But everything else is perfect.
I've gone to ABC before and enjoyed it, but this recent visit was not as good. It was too dark, to the point at which people were using phone cameras to read the menu. The squash salad appetizer was very fresh and springy (excellent use of lemon). The pork chop, unfortunately, was not as rich and tender as I hoped. Also, I felt the spinach did not pair well (how it was seasoned) with the pork. Still, the quality of the food was high. Overall, I was satisfied, but I probably won't go back for a while.
Wonderful meal. One of our favorite restaurants in NYC.
Best burger I’ve ever had!! Everything else was great too. The ambiance and decoration were very welcoming and beautiful as well. Definetly will be back
