What Insiders Are Saying
ABC Cocina is the Flatiron-located, Latin-inspired sequel to ABC Kitchen, and it’s better than the original.
Amazing service. Arrive with kids and were able to accommodate with high chairs and a lot of patience.
Food is good but is an expensive restaurant as portions are really small. My 2yr old had to take in 4 tacos (2 tacos each order) to be full @$18 each, so $9 per taco...
My bad for taking 2 kids but not best value either way
Food is really tasty, tacos were really good though!
Love the food esp sizzling shrimp. Staff is always efficient and amicable as in all the ABC restaurants- always a treat .
I've dined at ABC Kitchen before, and ABC Cocina was nothing short of fantastic. Completely loved every dish we tried. It was wonderful.
food is always delicious - never disappointing. Creative cuisine - unique for NY - healthy and extremely tasty. FUN atmosphere.
ABC Cocina has fresh food and delicious flavors. It’s a fun place to get together with friends and share food. The dishes are all so interesting and there is something for everyone to try and enjoy.
Very accommodating — we ordered several apps and the adjusted for three.
We had both ABC Cocina and ABCv recommended to us by a foodie friend and were not disappointed. Out of all the things we ordered, we LOVED the squash blossoms best (closely followed by the corn empanadas). The margarita with mezcal, mango essence and guajillo was definitely a superstar on the drink menu! More than anything, we loved the atmosphere and feel of the place -it was intimate and good for a date yet lively and fun, and there was a welcoming and cozy feeling despite it being fairly high-end. We would definitely recommend this and hope to come back soon to try ABCv next door!
Good menu, service was good, food was good, restaurant was noisy.
We came for a Restaurant Week lunch. I picked this place because of the white gazpacho on the Restaurant Week menu and it did not disappoint! Would come here again just for that. Main courses (mushroom tacos and Mexican lasagna) were also very good. The flan was creamy and not too sweet.
Vibrant Latin-American restaurant in a typical new york set up!!!!
We had the pork tacos, tuna tartare, shiitake mushrooms and the fluke. Pork tacos were the best with crispy pork topped with pineapple salsa was the best. Tuna tartare had too much sauce in it so it masked the fish. The shiitake mushrooms were too salty. The fluke was refreshing in a nice citrus ceviche like broth.
I am still dreaming about the white gazpacho. It was SO GOOD. This place is pricey, but the food was excellent. The waiter recommended 3 dishes per person; we ordered four dishes total and were too stuffed to finish! They were very nice and helpful about our vegan restrictions.
We had to wait an hour to get our table. It was reserved for 8pm and we were seated at 9pm with hardly an apology. Food was very good, but waiting an hour doesn’t cut it.
We arrived on time to our reservation and were told there were delays and we would need to wait fifteen minutes. We were not seated for 45 minutes, and our server was rude, pressured us for more drinks, clearly trying to get a larger tab, even though we'd ordered two drinks a person and numerous plates. Very unhappy with the experience.
Our reservation was 7:30pm, and we got seated after 1 hour. They did not really care.
They could have offered a free drink. But they had attitude in saying - our restaurant is tiny.
Issue with ABC Cocina is its hard to get reservation due to size of restaurant. Other than that, the food is good and fun place.
Had dinner there last night with a friend. Once seated another friend joined us on the spur of the moment. The staff was extremely accommodating in finding us a larger table at the last minute. I'm a grazer and this is the perfect place for that. Everything we got was very tasty, with the exception of the stuffed zucchini blossoms which came deconstructed and the blossoms were too oily. On the other hand, we ordered 2 servings of the shrimp it was so good!
My biggest issue was with the club soda refills... my club soda was refilled 6 times and I got 6 charges for beverages... I have never been to a restaurant where the fountain club soda was not a free refill. I would have understood if it came out of a bottle. Secondly for $18 you received 2 street size tacos... and the chicken ones were not great...
My tomato salad was great and the service was great.
Overall was not excited and will not return.
This review is for brunch. Great selection of tapas plates. Excellent service in the old Pipa space!
Absolutely love the place! Great drinks and food
food came quickly at first but there was too long of a lull between courses latet
noisy; poor restaurant week menu; overpriced; two lunches during restaurant week cost $150.00 Including tip. That is just plain outrageous.
Food is amazing. Highly recommend the steak and the shrimp appetizer. Noise is very intense!
Spectacular food, fascinating menu (never knew arroz con pollo could be a delicay!). The guac was great the salads very unique and the braised ribs fabulous. Service was affable and attentive and very understanding and helpful. Not inexpensive but basically well worth it and we intend to return.
The service stank. Our dishes were never removed and there was no experience on the part of our servers, except that the water stayed full.
Did lunch restaurant week. Dishes served as they came up despite the fact that we ordered
appetizers and main courses. Dishes taken away before both parties had finished. Food wasn't
bad nor was it great. Only good dish was Mexican lasagna. Rest was ordinary
Waiter was exceptional extremely knowledgeable and pleasant.
Very lovely happening spot with delicious food. The light bites are quite filling and the carafes of wine area relatively good value. The host was very accommodating to move my friend and I to a less cramped and less noisy area.
All the food was perfectly done, but don’t get the $17 tiny tiny bowl of guacamole (it wasn’t that great) they try and push on you. The servers staff all wonderful, great wine selection and I always love eating at this restaurant.
We had a great evening, but had to wait a good thirty minutes after our reservation time for a table. The noise level was a little loud for easily hearing conversations at our table. Food was outstanding!
Plates were all small (tapas style) and pretty expensive. Food was good, but to me, not worth the price. Probably won’t be dining there again unless someone else is paying lol
Some of the dishes (pea guacamole, fluke crudo, tres leches dessert) were quite nice. But the charred octopus had no discernible char and the texture was close to gummy. And the "burned ends" steak dish was not just a disappointment but a ripoff. Cooked medium instead of medium rare. Underseasoned. And it was $39 which led us to believe it would be an entree portion. There were four tiny bites of approximately 1 oz each.
Add that to indifferent service and an incredibly loud room, makes for a sorely disappointing meal.
Wow, I really cannot say a bad thing about this place. It was super busy and yet everything was expertly executed. The burger was delicious and well seasoned. The fish tacos were amazing. This is my favorite place to eat in NYC.
Very pleasant experience, although too noisy.
Food was great.
Love this place and always reliable for a fun night with friends. Plates are great sizes for sharing. Easy to order 10 plates to make sure you taste it all.
Don’t miss the guacamole the tacos. It’s easy to order many small dishes and skip the mains.
The vibe and ambiance is fun and infectious. Music is great. Great in a group or as a date.
Fabulous food, friendly attentive service in a trendy large restaurant with great ambience and decor
Went for my 2 year anniversary with my wife who loves tapas and this place was very good across the board from service and meal. Everything we had was very tasty and more importantly my wife loved it
felt rushed, if we hadnt ordered things at our pace we would have been in and out in 30 minutes. Waitress was not interesting in getting our drink orders and brought over the bill without us requesting it
