What Insiders Are Saying
ABC Cocina is the Flatiron-located, Latin-inspired sequel to ABC Kitchen, and it’s better than the original.
ABC Cocina was so delicious and absolutely amazing! The flavors are complex and original, and the service was phenomenal. Each and every dish was mouthwatering. Went for Valentines Day and was pleasantly surprised not to have to order from the prix-fixe menu which was 88/person. Our 9:30 reservation worked out perfectly because there was no prix-fixe and we weren’t rushed at all as there was no reservation later than us.
It was fine
Great meal! Service was attentive but unobtrusive. Food was good portions for sharing and delicious.
Food and service were fantastic. Great vibe overall. Tight quarters and very loud though.
Great vibe and overall the meal was good, but tbh the beef tenderloin dish is waaaayy overpriced, $42 for 5 small pieces. All dishes we had tasted pretty good but many portions were small, including the chipotle chicken tacos (2/$20) and shrimp with sizzling garlic (5/$19), though the charred octopus and hearts of lettuce were more reasonable. The seasonal popsicles, pear & rosemary, cranberry & vanilla, and coconut & chocolate, were fantastic and also generously sized.
our server was beyond knowledgeable.. My guest had several allergies and she was able to navigate the menu with ease and helped us order
This restaurant rides on the reputation of its owner and executive chef. The space is attractive and well-lighted and the noise level is right for a meal where you can actually hear what people are saying. Table seating was confusing -- we were led in twice only to be informed that the table was not ready yet. Service afterwards was friendly and attentive. The food was nothing special. The chicken soup ($15) was ample in size although expensive, but under-seasoned and unremarkable. It came loaded with large hunks of chicken breast, which was good, but these were bland and seemed to have been thrown in without attention to presentation. Patatas bravas ($10) were roasted potatoes. They looked nice but ours were not cooked through. They came slabbed with some pretty good aioli. Fish tacos were no better than you would find elsewhere for 2/3 the price.
The food and service were amazing. We will return for sure with bigger appetites.
Always wonderful food and service. A treat for my husband and I to have a meal here.
Terrific food in a wonderful space. Brunch was simply awesome. It is always a standout to not be served the typical brunch fare!
Yum! Everything was really interesting and high quality. Typical dishes reimagined for the experience. Everything was good. Get the French toast. Yum
always fun and the best bet for a nice but not stuffy meal
This was my second time dining here and the food and ambiance was as remembered. The food was delicious! From the chicken soup to the Brussels sprouts salad to the mixed green salad with Salmon. The specialty drink blends with veggies and fruit were very tasty but for $14 it should have been in a glass larger than
The service was mediocre at best. The server took over 15 minutes to come to our table to take our order. The person filling our water glasses was far more attentive than the main server.
It’s a fun place with very tight seating.
the food is outstanding, drinks are very good and the atmosphere is great. The service was okay.
Enjoyed restaurant week offerings which were very tasty. Service was good but a lot of people seemed to serve us. I would prefer serving the meal in courses vs when ready which makes it hard to eat together.
The bar tenders were standoffish and rude. The waiter was nice but we felt very rushed out.
Food great, customer service awful. Was seated 30 mins after my reservation time.
Delicious, albeit slightly overpriced, food
Sharing good food with great friends is the best part of the dining experience. The staff was beyond friendly and knowledgeable of not only the food but the cocktails and wine selection.
A wonderful restaurant week lunch, which reminded us how good the food is here. And very nice-sized portions, too. We told r server we were a bit pressed for time, and she made sure that our two-courses came quickly, but without making us feel rushed. We will definitely go back.
Always great !
The service and kitchen were really off Monday night. Once the food finally arrived, it was excellent as always. We let the manager know. I think many customers were feeling it that night.
It was a wonderful experience. My friend and I both enjoyed our dinner. The staff was very pleasant. Elegant rustic decor.
Wonderful fixed menu with friendly stuffs.
Can't love it more.
Went there for lunch during restaurant week, and it was amazing! The food, the service and the ambience - top notch!
I really loved everything about ABC Cocina. Restaurant itself is beautiful very and romantic. Food was over the top. Fresh, vibrant and unique. We had beet salad, croquettes, homemade chorizo and for a dessert flan. Just simply perfect.
Great food and service. An outstanding dining experience.
Nice food but very over priced. The portions are sized to be shared so you need one and a half to two main dishes per person. When looking at the menu prices we assumed one dish per person would be enough.
Great Latin music in the background and a nice atmosphere. Though the background noise of people talking is pretty loud as the place fits a lot of people. Good if you’re looking for somewhere lively.
Can’t fault the staff, they were friendly and helpful.
Overall nice place but didn’t think it was worth the money. If they made the dishes a little bigger (or cheaper if intended to be shared) then I would recommend.
Love the new burger . Place is overall way too expensive .
Chic atmosphere. Efficient service and delicious food. My only criticism is that the food arrived before our cocktails. Not such a hardship.
Loved the basil margarita and fluke & salmon crudos too!
Fine and delicious food, a bit too spicy for me. Very good service, nice and welcoming ambiance. Wine à bit expensive I think. Recommand it.
Always a great time. The Crispy Fish Tacos are amazing
Must experience. Inventive cuisine and beautifully decorated. Even the dishes, cups, mugs, cutlery add interest and detail.
We enjoyed our lunch and the server was lovely!
Enjoy the yummy tapas at this buzzy restaurant. Best guacamole in town. The waiters all help eachother, so sometimes you don't who to order from. It keeps things moving, but definitely eliminates that fine dining feel that you would get for a meal at this price. Still, I love this place for all the reasons Jean Georges is a king.
Amazing dinner experience in a creatively tasteful atmosphere, this place is a treat. Loved the garlic sizzling shrimps and the seafood rice - flavor explosions in my mouth. So nice.
Best food ever!! ONe of my all time fave restaurants.
This is a fantastic restaurant. The ambiance is amazing (decor, etc). The food was fantastic (Brunch) I want to return for dinner when I’m back in NYC. Highly recommend and give yourself time to explore the ABC home store connected to the ABC Kitchen. So amazing!!!!!!!
I have been to ABC Cocina in the past and had a great time. This time, however, did not live up to my expectations. We had a 8PM reservation and were not seated until 8:50. The hostess was professional (while not particularly accommodating) and we did not have a problem getting a drink at the bar while we waited. We were eventually seated at a table by the stairs going down to the restrooms- a solid location. We were not greeted for at least 7 minutes. We eventually asked the backwaiter to get our server, but ended up ordering from another server who was taking care of a different section. After ordering food, we had to once again ask the backwaiter for our server to order another drink - which came out incorrectly. We drank them anyways and once again ordered food from the other section’s server - at this point we hadn’t seen our server for over 15 minutes. Finally we flagged down our server and asked for cappuccinos with Bailey’s. The cappuccinos were cold and flat- like they just poured cold milk over espresso. At this point, we had sent back 3 drinks, but to be quite honest they were undrinkable - we sent them back for new ones. By the end of the meal, we had ordered everything expect for one drink from staff what was not our server. While the food and drinks were delicious when they came out correctly, the service from our waiter in particular was drastically subpar. I have worked in the service industry for years. I understand the challenges of working a busy Saturday night, and I hate sending things back and making a scene. Nonetheless, we were shocked that a restaurant of such esteem and culinary quality was being represented in such a way by the front-of-house staff. We are disappointed to say that a restaurant that we once truly enjoyed will no longer be on our list of recommendations for my non-New Yorker friends.
