What Insiders Are Saying
ABC Cocina is the Flatiron-located, Latin-inspired sequel to ABC Kitchen, and it’s better than the original.
Love this place!!! The food is fantastic and the staff is super nice..
I LOVED the ambiance but was very disappointed with the price to quantity of food ratio. I went with a group of four and we thought that based on the price points, 4-5 tapas would be sufficient. The sizes were incredibly small and I understand how it would be great for 2 dining, but for 4, it was very disappointing. We assumed that because the prices were so high, the portions would be much larger. The food was very tasty and I'd recommend the ribs. The atmosphere was great though and the margaritas were excellent. Also, I'll add that the desserts were delicious and were much more fairly priced for the size. Fun, energetic place with yummy food but I'd only recommend for a date night/splurge night!
Third time in 3 years. No drop off in quality or service. Really creative cuisine. Lunch is less crazy than dinner if you want a more mellow experience.
Usually love this restaurant. Not my best experience. Service was impacted by diners who were friends of the waiter sitting next to us getting all time and attention. Some standard dishes just were not as good.
Absolutely enjoy this restaurant. It’s a large restaurant compared to most NYC eateries. Food is great and service is wonderful.
As always , Jean Goerge does not disappoint. Good simple food, with options for none mexican dishes and all very nicely presented.
Great food, unique and imaginative . Friendly service. Thoughtful of management to send a Birthday dessert
Not seated until 50 minutes after our reservation time (for a birthday dinner). When we asked the hostess for an estimated time she told us a few minutes. We asked 4 times. They were unbelievable and not at all helpful.
My favorite restaurant on NYC. I go back everytime I’m in the city.
Excellent experience. Service was wonderful and food was excellent. I notified them we were there for an anniversary and they put us in a quiter area (per request, on a busy saturday night), multiple staff members said "happy anniversary" and they brought out desserts on the house with anniversary candles, etc. Really great.
Unbearably loud with outrageous prices: $24 for huevos rancheros??? Mezcal cured salmon was amazing, however.
Longtime customer (and fan) of Cocina, but meal was totally off from normal excellent dining. Butternut Squash dish was similar to baby food—-puréed and no flavor. Fondue was sent back because it was sour. And Calamari was like rubber. Everyone has a bad night....
Food and ambiance was amazing. Service was less than mediocre, which affected the whole experience.
Very interesting well prepared food. Small proportions
Food is always great. Service is deficient, including attitude from hostess not willing to sit tables until all parties are present, when restaurant is half full at best and is full of empty tables.
We came for a friend’s birthday and the food was great. Our waiter suggested 2 tapas per person and it was way too much food. Everything was tasty but our margaritas seemed to be too watered down. That said our water glasses were not refilled till we asked for it twice.
Great atmosphere, excellent service, delicious and modern Latin-American tapas.
I dined here solo on a Sunday evening and it was SO good. The fish tacos are out of this world, the sizzling garlic prawns are amazing and the service is great. As a solo woman in town some places can be funny about seating you but ABC sat me straight down at a table. Would definitely go back solo or with friends.
Too pricey for the portions and way too noisy. The drinks were good. Good place for a quick drink.
Our full party arrived on time for our 2 pm reservation. We weren't seated for thirty minutes, and were offered nothing for our trouble--barely even an apology or recognition that it was an inconvenience. The wait staff turned over soon after we had been seated, and then after we had put in a first order (the food is tapas style, so we anticipated a second round of ordering), we were told the kitchen was closing. If we had been seated for our reservation time, this wouldn't have been a problem. The food wasn't good enough to justify either the price or the indifferent-at-best, deliberately-rude-at-worst service. The ambience otherwise is delightful, so I'm bummed everything else left a bad taste in my mouth.
The scene is lively and fun, cocktails and food are good, but don’t expect to be seated anytime close to your reservation and don’t go expect an attentive waiter.
Reservation was delayed by 45 minutes-service was slow and food delivery was beyond slow. We had to ask 4 times for one of our selections. Staff switched half way through dinner made matters worse.
First visit and can’t wait to go back again. Great dishes, our waiter recommended a few of his favorites which were all well done. Guacamole is excellent, octopus, plenty of choices. Very accommodating team as we had two friends join us for dessert and they kindly moved us to a table for four. Looking forward to another meal.
I have been prior and love Jean Gorges restaurants. This experience was not one of my favorites. The food was delicious but the service was mediocre. I felt like they were going through the motions to turn the table. There was a gentleman going around repeatedly taking notes on each table I am assuming to see when we would be leaving. Not the experience I come to expect from these restaurants
I'm a huge fan of the food. Service is always friendly and helpful. Can't go wrong if you want something delicious and filling.
I used to really enjoy the food and ambiance. However the new menu just doesn’t have some of the basic items I used to love. Even the fish tacos were not as good as they once were.
Dinner was great company sucked thx
We loved it all - food, drinks and service.
Five stars all around!
Nice to come back after a long spell and still find food is still up to par, and service staff is more attentive!
The food was very good although there were multiple mix ups with our orders. My mother found a sharp piece of plastic in her fish, and they brought me out a meal with meat when I specifically asked for it without, and said that I am a vegetarian. They were accommodating with these issues but it was obvious the wait staff was trying to rush us out right before the Sunday brunch rush. Overall a good restaurant and we will probably go back, but the experience was not five stars
Portions are way too small.
We had to wait 40 minutes for our table.. It damaged our pleasure because we came Hungry to the restaurant.
Our table wasn’t ready at our reservation time. We had to wait 45 minutes to sit. The restaurant ambiance is very beautiful but it’s also very loud inside.
Spent $500 on dinner and went home and ordered a $20 pizza. Pizza was way better. Service was horrible and manager was rude. I have had more attentive service at a diner. This place lives off the reputation of ABC Kitchen but is ultimately horrible.
We love it here, great latín inspired dishes. Just different compared to many places out there.
Having been there a couple times we felt the food wasn’t as spectacular as it’s been in the past. Didn’t feel it was the best value for money.
Food seemed spicier than normal when we dined. We waited over 20 minutes past our reservation time before being seated. The hostess was kind of rude. Our server was lovely.
Always happy to come back to this top notch inventive cuisine in the nostalgic setting of the original ABC selling floor, with its lively clientele, friendly efficient wait staff and dim atmospheric lighting! No hesitations for a superb meal except the noise level at peak hours.
