This was the perfect place to eat delicious food before heading to the theater.

Food was fantastic! Service was friendly, though a bit hurried- understandable for pre-theatre crowd. Will definitely return.

First time visit to Boston and Shubert Theatre. Coming from out of state we had no idea where to eat before the show. Abby Lane was a delightful find! The food (filet mignon and pork tenderloins) were beyond any expectations we had for dinner. Absolutely delicious and so well presented. My thanks to the chef for a delightful dinner!

I would recommend your establishment to anybody coming to Boston and if the occasion should ever arise again to be there again I will definately be back!!!

The food was alright, but overpriced. They forgot the side dish with one of the meals. Very loud and tables are crowded too close together.

Good experience. We were seated on the upper level at sofa style seating. While this was different, it was a little difficult eating our entrees on a coffee table. I think this seating is better for people having drinks and appetizers. I have been there many times and will go back, but next time I Think I'd ask for a regular table.

A wonderful food and attention experience with my 9yo grandaughter before crossing the street to see Annie. Despite being busy, we had a great server - lots of thought into food choices, aware of pre-theatre time, very pleasant !! - we had a wonderful time.

The food was amazing. We shared the filet steak tips, which were gigantic and cooked to perfection with a ridiculously good gravy and mashed potatoes, and the pork tenderloin, which had to be the best pork tenderloin I've ever had (not that I get it all the time, either, tho) with a super tasty marinade and served with something orange that tasted like a mixture of sweet potatoes and butternut squash that couldn't have been a more perfect compliment to the pork. Truly one of the better meals I've had in a long time and I do like to frequent nice restaurants. This place was perfect for a date. Oh, and my date had a gluten-intolerance so we were able to order gluten free dishes that were clearly labeled on the menu. Big kudos for that!

As always, the food was fantastic and the drinks were phenomenal. A bit pricey for specialty drinks, but not out of line for the location. Had the Grilled Italian Hot Pepper-Parmesan Wings to start and they were the perfect combination of flavors and spice. Then split the Vietnamese BBQ Pork Sandwich, which was absolute perfection. Every bit was magic. Was disappointed with their lack of dessert menu (only 2 items) but over all everything else was great!

Perfect spot for pre-theatre dinner and drinks! They didn't rush us in and out and really let us relax and enjoy the whole multi-course experience. Good atmosphere, drinks, and awesome fresh food. I recommend the donuts for dessert!

I booked the day before with a party of 4. I ended up with an extra guest and Abby lane was very acomodating. We sat facing the open kitchen, which was fun to watch. Our waitress Allison, was very nice and knowledgeable. When the food arrived there were oooh's and ahhhh's all around. We shared appetizers and everyone enjoyed all of hem. There was enough food for leftovers, and they were just as enjoyable the next day. I will come back again, and with more friends. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

We should have known better when the tables on both sides of us had to return meals because one had pork underdone and the other had steak tips that were way overdone. My husband has celiac's so their "gluten friendly" menu has mashed potatoes and a burger that is safe for him. Literally everything else is somehow cross contaminated with gluten. They also didn't have 4-5 things that were listed on their menu-the server said they were out of these things and our reservation was at 5:15! Also didn't have a few types of beer or a popular scotch-It's best feature is the fact that it's right next to and across from the theater.

We went late at night after a show at the theater next door. The waitress was pleasant and attentive, the bar menu was unique and varied, drinks were delicious, and the food was just what we were looking for late at night. All this on a Sunday night after 9:30 pm. It was a happy end to a wonderful getaway weekend for my wife and I.

Food was excellent, not overthought, but spectacularly prepared. The cocktails ranged from very simple to some of the most unusual drinks I've ever seen, and all clearly prioritized flavor over look or trendy ingredients. The atmosphere was upscale without being stuffy, and the service was very good. I have absolutely no complaints and consider this now one of my favorite restaurants in Boston.

Our service was very good- timely, and accommodating- but at times it felt like overkill. Our waitress checked on us after serving our meal 3 times- each time breaking our conversation to the point where it felt like she was pushing us out in order to overturn our table quicker. This really did not feel hospitable, and made me feel rushed to finish my food and hesitant to order the coffee I wanted. Understanding that space is limited in Boston, the tables were so close together to the point that we had to physically move our table side to side in order to accommodate my mother and grandmother getting in and out of their seats. Luckily our neighbors were very friendly and happy to help.

This is a great place for a pre theater dinner. It feels like they have been doing the pre theater scene for awhile and even though the place was packed, food and drink came out quickly. We had a sandwich and flatbread, both tasty and cooked appropriately. Make sure you make a reservation on theater nights, we saw lots of people get turned away. 6:15 was perfect for a 7:30 showing next door.

I took my family of 6 to Abby Lane before seeing the show Rent and it was a great experience. It happened to be a beautiful day on Boston, so the windows were open and we felt like we were outside. The wait staff was great (friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient) and the menu / food was fantastic. Perfect for before or after a show!!!!

Server was very polite, and engaging. Was busy, so service was a little slow. Nachos were really big, but different. needed more cheese, but had fresh jalepenos and pickled onions which added nice flavor. Burger was good, however botgom bun was inedible due to being too soggy. Nice spot, and would try again if in the area.

This was our first visit...The food was delicious and the service good. A couple of FYI's: If you are attending a show, make sure to let your server know, showing the tickets...you will then receive a % off your food bill. If you substitute regular fries for eggplant fries or garlic mashed, etc., there's an up charge. I've since been told it's stated on the menu...none of us saw it.

IT TOOK ONE HOUR FOR OUR FOOD TO COME. THERE WERE TWO OTHER COUPLES WERE GOT THEIR ENTREES BEFORE US...AND THEY SAT AFTER US. OBVIOUSLY , OUT WAIT PERSON GOT JUMPED ON THE FOOD PICK UP AND SOME OTHER WAIT PERSON TOOK OUT FOOD AS IT CAME OUT OF THE KITCHEN. THERE ARE SYSTEMS TO AVOID THIS...AND OBVIOUSLY THEY DON'T HAVE ONE. I WATCHED THE WAIT PERSONS GOING UP..LOOKING AT THE MEALS SITTING THERE TRYING TO IDENTIFY WHAT PLATE WAS WHAT. NOT GOOD. WE ARRIVED AT 6PM SHARP...DID NOT HAVE OUT MEALS UNTIL 7:05pm NOT GOOD AND WE ACTUALLY ALMOST WALKED OUT.

Made a reservation and was seated promptly. Server came over immediately, she was friendly and helpful. Got the steak tips along with two vegetable side dishes to share between the two of us. The steak tips were cooked exactly as we asked, the eggplant french fries were amazing, spinach was great too. More than enough for the two of us....a very, very yummy!

Enjoyed clam chowder, salad with smokey blue cheese, Kobe slider, and grilled chicken sandwich with a wonderful IPA on tap. Sat upstairs by the "fireplace" in big easy chairs. Huge windows brightened the room. Excellent ambience, food, and attentive service from Kevin, our superb waiter. Then, went next door to The Wilbur to enjoy One Night of Queen. Excellent experience overall. Thank you!

Met friends before an event at the Wilbur Theatre. Great location, right across the street. We had a reservation, but we were early, no problem we were seated right away. Our waiter, Kevin, was so friendly, funny and helpful. We enjoyed some drinks then had a wonderful salad with a great dressing. One in our group had the clam chowder, which he liked very much. We all ordered burgers. They were delicious and the fries were hot and crispy. We also tried the eggplant fries. We loved them. The service was prompt and friendly. Our orders came out quickly , hot and cooked just the way we wanted. We never had to find our server to refill our water glasses, they did it automatically. We never felt rushed and the noise level was decent. We thought the cost was comparable to other pub style restaurants in the city. We all felt it was a good value for all we ordered. Would definitely go back and would recommend it to others.
