Food was mediocre. The waitress was friendly. The service was initially good, but our entrees took a long time to come. There seemed to be an event in the corner involving staff, so at times there were no waitstaff walking around. The place was fairly empty but ambiance and decor were nice.
Food was great as was the value...location was key as we stayed at the Marriott to see a show at the Charles St theater...
It was ok...just a little lack luster. Great for a quick burger and fries.
We had a great dinner. Will definitely go back. Went there before a show at the Boston Opera House. Had a great ambiance.
It’s rare when you find a restaurant where EVERY food item you order just tastes sooo good. That was the case for us Saturday night at Abby Lane. Thanks!
David was an incredible server. What a delight. And the food was great!
Great value for downtown. Perfect for a great after theater dinner. Not far from the Opera House.
WE thank you for a great time!
Food was fabulous!
Great service, super fast & the food was great. There’s a first floor which seemed more causal, then the upstairs were we ate, had a cooler and fancier vibe.
Service was great. We were accommodated even though we were late. The mussels were the best! Perhaps the city's best.
Had high hopes for this place after reading reviews, but we thought the two items we had seen recommended—the nachos and the donuts—were just OK. The nachos were what I’d call “high end,” and they were kind of dry and the chorizo was bland. The donuts would have benefitted from fruit toppings instead of ice cream. It’s a noisy and fairly cramped spot. On the plus side, our server was very good.
Food was cold and service was really lacking. I’d recommend it only because it’s right by the theater but if it weren’t, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Food was excellent (Filet Mignon, Ahi Tuna composed entrees) as was our waitress. The problem was seating. My wife has a bad back and can't sit at high tables, which was the majority of the seating. There was no indication of this on Open Table. Even though there were multiple standard height tables available, with others due to clear soon, we were told we would have to wait for 30 to 45 minutes for a low table. We arrived early (25minutes), and there were several tables for four open, they were holding those for reservations of four that hadn't arrive yet. They wouldn't seat us at those tables as there were only two of us. To make it worse, all of the seats to sit in to wait were the high style seats in the bar area. We had to enlist the restaurant manager and get very irate to get seated. We recommended that they change their Open Table set-up to separately indicate seating for high and low style tables like a number of other restaurants. In the meantime, I highly recommend calling ahead and specifying your requirement for a low table.
Great spot for pre-or post theater dining...Service is always friendly and helpful...plus you get a discount if you show your tix! We ate at the counter cause it is a little noisy. I had a bowl of onion soup, which was delicious! Will definitely go back.
Great food and service
The service was good in general, but seemed like the servers were rushing us at out. They asked if I'm done with my food when I had a mouth full and there was still food on my plate! Also, the way they have set the tables makes it impossible for people and even waiters to walk behind you without banging into your chair hitting their stuff to your head. Also they don't have a coat check and we were sitting on the lower chairs so my jacket was touching the floor from back of my chair. Don't recommend it for romantic dates at all. Maybe good enough for a dinner with friends.
Service was very quick and easy; server asked right away if we were headed to a show to be sensitive to our time. The only negative was that the tables are VERY close together. Food was amazing.
We loved our experience at Abby Lane! The service was great and drinks and food were phenomenal. The nachos are incredible! This was our second time and we can not wait to go back. It is out new spot when in town for a show!
Pre-theater dinner was delicious!
Enjoyed the food and drink selections. Best flour free chocolate cake I have ever had!!!
The brie appetizer was delicious! I also had the Avocado BLT which I highly recommend. Our Server asked us right up front if we were seeing a show (we were), and gauged how much time we had before we needed to leave. I would definitely go back to Abby Lane.
Very pleasant, service was outstanding! Portions great
This was a nice place to grab a meal before a show at The Wilbur. Food was good, pricey but good. Drinks were fabulous as was the service. The staff was great!
Wonderful food. I love the small plates because you can try a number of tasty treats! We shared the felafels and the baked brie. Both were delicious. And save room for the warm cinnamon doughnuts for dessert. They are freshmade, pillow-y, light-as-air, little balls of joy with not 1, not 2, but 3 dipping sauces!
The hostess was enduring, the food was magnificient and the waitress was not only helpful but concern about us, the atmosphere was crowded and loud. Definitely, a place to try. Recommend reservations.
Moms night out was a success! I got the “Shut the front door” for a drink and it was wonderful. The fried chicken entree was perfection especially on a blistering cold winter night!
Great spot for dinner before show at the Wilbur. Tasty food and great service. Fun atmosphere in the city.
Fabulous! Delicious food. Had a great dining experience
They were nice. Allowed me to have the table I asked for, which was roomy and away from the front door drafts as I had older ladies with me and I myself get cold easily as well. The waitress gave us time to order not rushing us to order or to leave, able to take our time to eat and enjoy our meal and good sized portions we were able to take some food home. Yum!
Great place to meet for lunch with theater plans. Food is tasty, prices reasonable and service attentive but not overly so.
Although we had reservations, the hostess attempted to seat us at a tiny table in the doorway. She found us another table upon request. Everything else was wonderful.
Great food and drinks, efficient and friendly service got us to the show on time.
Recommend for convenience to theatre, drinks, and burgers. Our waitress was great.
Delicious food. Nice ambiance. Nachos were really good with fresh ingredients. The duck was fantastic. Perfect location for going to a show.
Fabulous - especially the Strawberry Daiguiri!!! YUM! Food was good, large portions. Our waitress was wonderful! Highly recommend! Next time we thought we would just order just drinks and appetizers!
Nachos were great!!!
The waiter was excellent and entertaining.Wait time for food was short. The quantity and quality was awesome.
Thank You
Fabulous pkace service excellent fiod superb pork tenderloin turnip. location so convenient. Highly recommended
Great food! Great service!!
We had a wonderful time, our meal was fantastic. We met people sitting next to us and everyone was so happy. The only (small) thing was the noise factor, it seemed very load but we will be back for sure!
The staff was great and the food was delicious. My filet was cooked to perfection
The fried chicken was outstanding, and all enjoyed their meal.
