A moderately priced, excellent choice for a pre/post theater dinner.
Great food and service. Comfort food fancied up a little.
Food was below average
Abby Lane was very accommodating, especially as we were 30 minutes late. We were seated immediately and although it was in the more full and boisterous downstairs, we were waited on quickly. The sliders are addictive. The nachos were good enough to take home and there was enough left after the three of us indulged. Had we had time (show started soon) we probably would have ordered another round of sliders.
We will be back whether or not we have tickets to a show. Thank you, Abby Lane.
The food was fantastic but the service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress was not very attentive and she kept forgetting everything we asked for. For the money that we spent we deserved better service.
My daughter and I had post Theater bite on Sunday after the Nutcracker. It was quiet and empty at first (7:15 pm). We were seated right upon arrival. We opted for the baked brie, beef tostitos and New England clam chowder. All were delicious. U also had a "Mom Jeans" gin cocktail. Very good and refreshing. As we were leaving the place was a little filled. We were able to have a great conversation without having to yell, so good ambiance at that time.
Three adults went for a quiet pre theatre dinner. Restaurants filled with families/kids. Noise level was intolerable. Could never have had a conversation. Restaurant filled to capacity. We left and went elsewhere. I’ve been during the year for lunch and it was nice.
Service was great- food was not. My salad came minus two main components. Waited a significant amount of time to have the meal rectified.
Food has been better in the past. Our Bloody Mary's were awful! Service was slow even after the theater rush. Took forever to get our five drinks from the bar. Got them one at a time tho ordered at once. Once at the table, had to ask for water three times. Never got ketchup. The sliders were under cooked. Took a long time to get our check. Just wasn't a great experience. Been there twice before and the food was great and so was the service. But not this time!
Went to see a show at the Boch Center.Wanted to get lunch in the area afterwards.Abby Lane was so close we decided to try it.Made a reservation ahead of time, luckily as it was very busy after the show let out.We had the chicken burgers and the sliders fom the kids menu. The chicken burgers were the best I've ever had.
Very nice choice of wines also. The waitress was excellent. The atmosphere was very lively and pleasant. Would definitely go again!
Table was ready when we got there, waiter was awesome!
Food was good, however would like to see more vegan options
We went here prior to the Theatre show across the street. Would recommend!!! Staff & Kitchen are great about getting the food out for show time. Would recommend!!!
The food is good and the service quick . Great place to eat before the theatre and to a place to bring children for lunch before a theatre production for children.
My daughter and I went to see How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Abby Lane was a great spot to have dinner after the show. We sat upstairs and had a table by the window. The staff was very attentive and the food excellent. It was a wonderful expereince.
Usually love Abby Lane, but had a BAD night for the kitchen! Super disappointing meals.
Really no complaints. Burger and pastrami sandwiches were good Eggplant fries bland. Service was the strength. Noisy.
Went to see Charlie Brown. C mas at the Shubert with my g daughter and daughter in law Fantastic meal reasonably priced kid friendly and our waitress Melissa was terrific!!!
Dinner with a friend before a show at the Cutler Majestic. We both ordered and enjoyed our hamburgers - prepared as requested. Quick and friendly service although I would have liked more information about the sides and the cost for substitutions.
I had high hopes after glowing reviews by the Phantom Gourmet. I had an 8:30 reservation for two on a Saturday night. We were crowded into a small table between two other parties, one side was overflowing their table and practically sitting in my dates lap. Unfortunately, the blue haired celebrity chef was not in the kitchen the Saturday night we went there and there were no house made blue potato chips to be had either, apparently discontinued. We each had a Kobe beef slider which were tasteless and overcooked. We also each a chicken taco too, these had some flavor but nothing special. I had French Onion soup and the broth tasted a bit like motor oil smells, I think from predominance of thyme in the broth. The bread in the soup was more like a heavy, chewy dumpling and the cheese had no flavor either. The garnishes on top had flavor, just not good flavor. My date had clam chowder that was gloopy, gloppy, too thick and not the greatest either. I wont go back, even when at the theater. What a disappointment.
This is described as a gastropub, but the food was not consistent with that label. The cocktail menu was good, but the beer menu was limited. The starters were quite good (perhaps the best falafel I have had in Boston and a very good spinach salad), but the mains were middling at best. Service was good and we were on our way before our show started (I guess that is the point). Everything was rather salty and the serving sizes were very quite large. That means that going to Abby Lane and then sitting in a theater for a few hours might induce sleep.
Came in before a show at the Wibur. Extremely busy ands somewhat noisy. Got a coupler of drink at the bar where we were spoiled. We always come back!
This is definitely a hip place in the middle of the theatre district. We had reservayions, but got there late. Even though they cancelled them, they seated us right away. We were running late and had to catch a show so we ordered quickly. I ordered the fried chicken. DELISCIOUS! We told our waitress that we didn’t have a lot of time and she took really good care of us. The atmosphere of the place gave off a date night vibe. I will definitely go back to get the whole experience without being rushed.
Perfect spot in the theatre district! My mom and I enjoyed the food and the creative drinks. Apps were overpriced, but still excellent. And great service too!
Made a reservation a few days before a concert at the Wilbur. The place was packed when we arrived and our table was ready. Wait staff was attentive and efficient although I had to yell to confirm the order because of the noise level. My arugula salad and kobe slider were both good. The beer selection was decent.
We arrived late for our reservation on a very busy evening but Abby Lane were able to accommodate us. The food was delicious and the server was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend I’m in the area.
Start to finish great- nice girl at door and waiter great.
Great restaurant and close to the Emerson Colonial for shows! We sat up stairs near the fireplace. Their menu changed and not longer offer pizza...which was not reflected on their website. Food is good....I got burger sliders and friend had the salmon. Both were good!
Phenomenal experience. High top tables are a bit close to each other. Food was amazing and had lots of gluten free options.
Had a great experience here. It is very much in sync with the Theaters and shows in the area. People come in waves and then it dies down until the next rush of people come in. They have a very interesting cocktail list with some fun and unique names. Would go back again.
Great place for a bite to eat before a show.
Great lunch spot before theatre. Was late for reservation but they still accommodated us. Food and service was excellent.
Great cocktails, dinner and service. Would absolutely go back!
Very good quality food and generous portions. The service was excellent - obviously aware of timing for theater goers. The noise level was high - but tolerable.
We were very pleasantly surprised with the service and the varied menu.
Cocktail menu was the most creative I’ve ever seen. Naming was fantastic and mixes highly entertaining and tasty. Dinner menu is not huge, but it offers higher priced entrees and also burger/sandwich options to keep the price down. My group has multiple
cocktails each, a few appetizers, a bottle of wine, four entrees, deserts to share AND coffee and we still paid less than $100 each. Definitely recommend.
Service and food were fantastic. Server made excellent recommendations and was attentive throughout our dinner.
I was really excited to have dinner at Abby Lane with my mom and a friend before seeing Hamilton. I had a reservation and was running a little late (10 mins) and called ahead to let them know. They seated us right away, however, it took at least 15 minutes for someone to come over and pour us water. I literally had to get up and say something to the hostess. We had a time constriction due to the show and just had to rush toward the end. I wasn't impressed and would not recommend this restaurant to a friend. Why should the table seated after receive not only water but order dinner first? So incredibly rude and unacceptable. The waitress made an effort after I complained but it was too late at that point. I won't be back.
Just an all around great find! We went before a concert at the Wilbur. Literally across the street from the theater.
Our server was pleasant and attentive, the ambiance was nice, we thought the wait time for meal service (order to receive) was a bit long (? kitchen delay)
