Food is very tasty and prices are reasonable. I reserved in advance thinking place was busy, but that was not the case
THE food was as usual delicious - tried the stuffed cabbage leaves and they were absolutely delicious and copious - a change from the lamb adana kebab we always have - the bread and olive oil were irresistible as usual - the only issue was the waitress who was nowhere near as charming as our usual male servers - she defiitely had an attitude probably left over from being a server at JoJo and thinks the clientele at ABA is a notch downhill - hope never to have her again - but where else can you eat a delicious copious meal for two for 40 in NYC - the rice pudding was outstanding and more than enough for two ....worth the trip even if Carnegie Hall is open =- contrast that to jacques Brasserie where we had burgers last night plus wine for almost 90 a person - and the burgers were nowhere near as good as they used to be ...
Good service food is good
Have eaten here many times pre COVID and now that they are open with limited indoor seating, we couldn’t wait to go back.
Food is excellent and service always pleasant. It’s a BYOB restaurant which is a big plus as far as affordability.
Don’t hesitate to eat here.
The bread was amazing, hummus was good. The waters very nice.
I ordered the chkn adana and it was not what I expected. I felt like it was not properly cooked. Idk.
The food was great and on time. The server was very nice and polite.
Great food, especially loved the chicken chops and lebni. This restaurants been here for awhile so I was pleasantly surprised that the food quality has not gone down. Staff was also careful with covid.
Couldn't be happier with this local Gem. Good food, fast service and they remember
my name.
We ordered lamb kabob and a mixed meat dish, both of which were excellent. I received 8 large chunks of lamb and I thought I could only eat 2, but I ate 5! The hummus was not as good as we were expecting, as both of us have traveled in the Middle East and know what excellent hummus tastes like. The desserts were both delicious (sorbet and rice pudding).
I love this place. Always come away smiling and well sated. Staff so accommodating.
The chicken kabobs were delish as were the spinach pie and grape leaves. Wouldn’t order the veggie casserole again as a bit bland. Staff was great and very friendly.
Horrible. Especially that uneducated waiter in glasses. He should be deported and back where he came from.
Always great. Well constructed outdoor setting
Delicious food and very attentive service. This is a great neighborhood spot.
Great food, incredible service - love coming here! It's also BYOB :)
Excellent food. Reasonable priced. Amazing service. They went above and beyond for friends bday dinner.
Great food!! Took my friend for her birthday and she loved it
Loved the food. Really tasty! Specially the lamb shank was delicious!
There should be a warning that this restaurant doesn't serve alcohol. It is also not the type of restaurant I expect from Open Table.
Outdoor dining on a street with buses isn’t great. Also, the bike delivery people kept riding right by us (on the sidewalk) which was scary. Will go back when they reopen indoors.
I've been wanting to check out ABA for some time now, so we recently went for My Bday. I Loved the look of the restaurant- the decor, the trees in the dinning room & a great rooftop patio. I had high expectations regarding the food, especially since it has rave reviews. We ordered the Lamb Ragu Hummus- it was ok, the lamb was soggy in the juices, I think it should have been dry with the hummus (I'm sry but we get better hummus at the little neighborhood Middle Eastern/Turkish places), we also ordered the Lamb Wrapped in Eggplant- that was pretty good but I expected better, lastly we ordered the Short Rib Shakshuka Stew- which was just ok. I enjoyed my drink- Gin & Tonic with Kiwi Puree & the Creme Brulee Pie was Delicious!
I DON'T GET THE RAVE REVIEWS OF THE FOOD?
Maybe these ppl haven't experienced much Turkish food, just don't get out much or because of the hot-spot location somehow think the food is just as great, lol.
*I'm only recommending ABA to a friend bc of the Ambience/Roof-Top Patio & Dessert.
Decent outdoor dining spot, price fixe menu (fr 4-7) and attentive service. Recommend for a nice meal!
Excellent food. Quiet. Reasonably priced. A gem. Like eating at a friend's house.
Great restaurant with beautifully cooked food
Had a great meal. This was a real find for this area.
Food was amazing. Service was very good even amazing as well. Its byob, no service if beer or wine, which if I read more reviews I probably would have known going in. Definitely a 5 stars
Waiters were a bid gruff and seemed in a hurry to get us moving along even though we were there for barely an hour.
We were here on Valentines night. Wish we knew there was no liquor but you could bring your own wine. Candles at the table were a nice touch, but the tables were too crammed together. Food was very good. They also gave us yummy warm bread before our meal so we ended taking some food home.
the food was very good, and plentiful. In fact, could have shared a main course plus a mezze plate instead of two main dishes. The restaurant does not have a beer and wine license, so need to BYOB-- but there is no corkage fee, so makes this an affordable option for dinner in a high-price neighborhood of Manhattan.
Perfect for a group
Adana kabobs were not good. They got it completely wrong
Excellent food and service
As always good food and service; very reasonable prices especially for the area and best of all and a real money save =
BYOB.
NYC is the world capital for over very high price Wine!!!!!
So this pace is then a bargain.
Food was a bit salty and dry end. Nice servers, ambiance and lively. If you're not too picky with taste this is a nice place to go to. Food is average.
Definitely recommend!! Loved the food and the service was spectacular - very attentive and fast.
Delicious food and excellent staff. Reminded me of my time in Istanbul.
Food was incredible
Staff fantastic
never disappoints though none of the waiters who recognized me for years are there any more - miss them - my only quiblle is that i hadn't had lunch and asked if i could have some of the delicious bread and olive oil while i waited for my friend who is always a little late - they refused two or three times and said it couldn't be served until we had ordered which i think is ridiculous - did they think i was goign to eat the bread then get up and walk out? fortunately, the lady at the next table who had been given a whole bag of the bread to take back to Florida gave me a piece of hers!
The restaurant does not have a liquor license but you are welcome to BYOB of wine.
ABA was a great option for pre-theatre dinner. Food was good. Service was attentive without being overbearing.
