I highly recommend this place. I saved it when I saw a TikTok video where Tommy Hilfiger mentions this as one of his favourite restaurants in NYC. By chance I was meeting a friend nearby and I’m glad I gave it a try. It’s good Turkish food and if you like Greek food, this is somewhat similar. Staff are sweet; it’s old school mom & pop vibes. Will be back!

Came here as a kid and will absolutely come again. The front of house team is on top of it and so thoughtful. The ambiance feels like a hug and the food is just as comforting. A go-to if you’re seeing a show or subjecting yourself to a Times Square visit. Summer bonus: excellent AC.

Recently visited Turkeyi and was blown away by the food,started craving Turkish food and decided to go to Aba,The food was quite authentic, especially the stuffed grape leaves,the cheese filled rolls and the mixed meat plata but the star of the meal was the kunafeh and Turkish coffee.Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.....the prices and service was also very good.

Food was really great and big portions. Service was great also. A place a bit outdated but clean. If you enjoy Turkish cuisine, definitely must try.

We were looking for an inexpensive meal not too far from Lincoln Center, and this place certainly filled the bill. The prices are low for Manhattan and the portions were large. The food is very authentic Turkish and well prepared. The dining could use some renovation but the food and service were excellent and a bargain.

Our experience was good, but I suspect there are other Turkish restaurants worth trying. Our group shared 3 small plates to start, zucchini pancakes which were overcooked to the point one was really burned on the edges, puréed eggplant salad which was bland and a tiny portion, and beets salad which had no seasoning, more like plain roasted beets. Those who had kebab enjoyed the grilled meat, and portions were generous. The white bean stew was flavorful in a tomato sauce. The felafel was light and crisp, very nice, but rice and red cabbage on the side had again no seasoning and no dressing (maybe a drizzle of olive oil?). The bread on the table was excellent and warm, the accompanying olive oil had no flavor however, likely not extra virgin. Overall I was missing the flavors of good olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, sumac, parsley. Service was efficient and friendly. We had a nice evening.

I asked Turkish uber driver which is the best Turkish restaurant in Manhattan and he told ABA. It’s a little gem of Turkish cuisine in uptown Manhattan. Usually Turkish restaurants in nyc are too fashionable and expensive, but this restaurant is nicely simple with space and comfortable. Food is absolutely great and very good cost performance. Want to come here often!

We arrived fifteen minutes early and were seated right away. Splitting two appetizers (falafel and spinach borek) and a main of chicken shish kebab provided a delcious meal. We were not rushed and the waitstaff was on point, refilling water, asking about other drinks, and generally being kind and observant. We will be back. Great stop on the way to Lincoln Center.

I originally made reservation for 2. Called night before to change to 3 -barely interested in getting my name. However, no problem on arrival although didn't seem to check my reservation. Food good and attentiveness to refilling water. Appetizer and entree came quickly, but we were not rushed about dessert or to pay. My disappointment is that although American coffee on the menu (part of my dinner special) - not available; only offered tea and Turkish coffee. As I left waiter joked about owing me a coffee. I'm not criticizing waiter - merely his attempt at humor. The other "downside" is that although good and will likely go back, I consider this a place to eat not to "dine" because it has an almost diner atmosphere rather than that of a nice mid-grade restaurant. And although I rarely drink, I think they have only wine from what I saw on the tables.

ABA is a small, casual, friendly place. A great place for family meal, after work get-together, or any time you want classic Turkish food without any fuss. No, it is not haute cuisine, just good food. There is no bar, but wine is available to accompany your meal. It is kind of buried in the menu. Just ask your server for a glass. The stuffed grape leaves will leave you begging for more, and the cheese twists will disappear if you don't keep an eye on your dining companions. Entrees include the staples of Turkish cuisine. The sides are mundane, but the mains make up for that.
