Aarons Fishcamp Ratings and Reviews
Erik was a great server, we connected quickly, nice conversation and he made several recommendations that my husband and i both enjoyed. Erik recommended the wings which are a staple in our house, they were smoked and had a tasty glaze on them, and you know they were good if my husband didn't request ranch to drench them in. We look forward to going back again soon.
I made a reservation here without really knowing anything about it. So when we got to town the day before, we went to check it out. The bartender, Jaime, was very friendly and helpful. Gave us ideas for our stay in Siesta Key. We went back for dinner on NYE. Although the hostess the day before told us to get there early (7 p.m. reservation), we arrived at 6:15 and there was no wait. We went back at 7 p.m. and the only outside tables were in the back corner of the bar so we asked to wait for one to open up. The host staff was very pleasant and understanding and as soon as a table opened up, we were seated. Meanwhile Billy was bartending that evening and although good service, not as personable. Granted, it was NYE and he was quite busy. The ribs were as described, fall off the bone good. Our waitress was good, although I ended up getting my own drink because it was faster. We stayed and had drinks after dinner and it was a great atmosphere.
I have been here several times since Jan. I enjoy bringing guest for the Wednesday lobster specials. The quality of the specials has gone down, last night the lobsters were served in french fry baskets with paper liners that do not absorbe the water that comes out of fhe lobster. Water was running all over. We left with wet clothes. the service has drastically declined. To the point that I am not sure I will go back. What happened to servers being attentive. Our food was brought out with out a word and our drinks were never refilled. I'm wondering if it has changed managment.
i chose this restaurant mainly from prior reviews and the interesting menu. The experience was less than ecstatic. The menu is interesting, though pricey. We dined outdoors, and the waiter seemed to be a bit out of it. Had to ask for basic items like plates for apps, spoons for coffee. After a while a calypso band started playing loudly and annoyingly. Despite half price appetizers and a split of wine the tab was over $100 for 4, which included two sandwiches. Better food at better prices all over Sarasota
Awful! The music was BAD, the fries were cold. The food wasn't good. It took an extra ten minutes for my daughters hot dog to arrive (and we had to track down someone to tell!) when it finally arrived it was cold in the middle. They gave it to us for free, but I still had to feed her when we got home. I predict it will be gone soon. Don't waste your time here!
Another great Sunday night excursion to BluQue, with excellent entertainment and a Key west like atmosphere on the covered deck. Can really recommend the cherry smoked wings and the Sunday special Luau pulled pork. Pour the home made BBQ sauce on! Also a cool touch is the sparkler they attach to certain bottles of wine when they are delivering them to your table that really catch peoples attention. Great service, fun atmosphere and inexpensive but tasty food makes for an excellent combination on Siesta Key.
Had the chance to eat at this Siesta Key local standard on a rainy Sunday night. Had a great island atmosphere as we sat outside on the covered deck while a Jimmy Buffet sound-a-like entertained the sparse 8 pm crowd. One of had an outstanding salad with pulled pork and another tried the 5$ special Pork sandwich. Frankly the "special" left a lot to be desired being basically a hamburger bun with pork, which was pretty tasty but no sides accompany this so it's kind of like "the dollar menu". Next time will skip the "special" and go for a full plate for the extra 3 bucks. We did split the absolute best barbeque chicken wings appetizer I've ever tasted. Smoked with cherry wood or something. Phenomenal!
Good service and a good time.
I made reservations for a Friday night so we could have the all you could eat king crab legs. When we got to the resteraunt and ordered our drinks and appetizer we asked about the crab legs and the waitress said that is Saturday night. I told her the menu online shows Friday night. She said they know. They wouldn't honor it so we left. Very, very disappointed.
Took my family there while vacationing in Siesta Key and was very disappointed. The restaurant inside is very dingy looking and the food is mediocre at best. My daughter ordered the fried grouper sandwich and said it was good and I had the lamb shank and it was fairly good , but everything else was pretty bad. My vegetables were not good at all. I couldn't eat them. My wife and other daughter didn't eat the I meals and my grandchildren told me their hamburger was the toughest, hamburger they'd ever eaten. So no one really enjoyed their meal. The one redeeming quality was that our waitress was very nice and did her job well.
We have never eaten here but came to hear Nick LeValley- great musician by the way- and were pleasantly surprised at the delicious food! The wine list was missing just about every bottle my husband ordered but it was the weekend after July 4th so no deliveries that week I'm guessing. I would highly recommend though! Do yourself a favor and vallet park.
I just picked a place on open table in the area. We had not been there before. This would be a great place just to hang out and listen to the music outside. We were looking for a quieter evening as it was our anniversary so we ate inside. Food was very good, service was outstanding, and the prices were reasonable.
We had a group of 8 dining the 4th of July night. We walked a mile there and a mile back just to eat there, due to the holiday traffic. It was worth it! Everything was great from the service of our waitress, to the appitizer, pulled pork samples, dinner and the live music. We will definitely be back!!
Even though two patrons were told they couldn't smoke inside the restaurant they managed to do it just the same. We were seated in the outdoor area of the restaurant and the first person proceeded to go outside but actually hang over the side wall talking to his companion while smoking, not caring that it was disturbing our meal. The wait staff said nothing to them and after the first one did it they both lit up and he continued to smoke while sitting in his booth and she hung over the side.
I believe it was a manager that walked by many times and never said anything to them. We live on Siesta but if this ever happens again we will not return even though it's one of our favorite places, no smoking should mean no smoking.
This is a great little place with great drinks and appetizers. A fun place to go after the beach to grab a bite to eat. We had the smoked wings and crab cake appetizers and the the rib special for dinner. Very nice sizes and great taste. We'll be back for sure.
I am SO happy we chose Blu Que for my birthday. Everything was great. From the service to the food. We couldn't have asked for a better server. Eric made sure that everyone was attended to. We ordered the Smoked Chicken Wings, Calamari and Fish Dip. Fantabulous! For dinner we had, All you can eat Maine Lobsters. So worth it... After dessert, it was time to go. We ALL made sure to tip Eric well and that he was fairly compensated for his time and service. We were there for four hours and not once did we "want" for anything the whole meal. Thank you Blu Que for a great start to our evening and an awesome memory for my 40th! I would totally recommend Blu Que to anyone I know. We cant wait to go back for Smoked Prime Rib and Pulled Pork Sliders!
We were disappointed to discover that we could not order any of the pig roast that they do on Sundays. This was our only reservation (which I called and asked about the pig and the hostess said it was available for order all day) for the whole trip and we were really looking forward to it. Although we received a decent portion of a "sample" of the pig, we thought that the pig smoking out front was more of a ploy to bring people in to eat there than to actually serve the pig to its customers. Also, the waitress was horrible, she didn't know much about the pig and didn't even check on us when we got our food. We probably will not eat there again next time.
In Siesta village there are several very casual spots to drink and eat and this may be one of the better ones. The menu offers a nice choice of appetizers and entrees, mostly barbecued. Full bar with decent choices for wines by the glass. Very good live entertainment. We asked to be seated indoors, where it was air-conditioned, away from the action. We left after one glass of wine and appetizers...the restaurant (and restrooms!) were just a little too casual for us. Complimentary valet parking available.
OpenTabel navigated us to this place for lunch. It looks shabby outside but food turned out to be great! we had clam chowder and liked it very much. Piece of grilled scotish salmon over a wedge salad was small but delicious. Services was prompt. They even had a live music for lunch! short walk to the beach, very pleasant area.
We go to Blue Que on a regular basis ...three times in the last 7 days. We love the BBQ ...pulled pork, brisket and the ribs. We especially enjoy the live music. Sunday night with Marcel...the man just oozes talent. The "Q" is setup for inside dining, covered dining and outside dining. The covered dining is normally open air so that you may enjoy the ambiance of the Siesta Key Village. If the weather requires, the outside seating can be enclosed for protection. If the "Q" outside seating is closed up due to weather and the "house" is full, then the noise level limits the ability to have causal conversation.
Very friendly, niche market for smoked delights!
The smoker wings and signature burger were well worth ordering again.
Our server (from Wisconsin) was more than accommodating and very diligent. we loved him!
only drawback would be how loud dome people/groups can get due to happy hour, so it may not be as kid friendly (language) as you may wish.
will recommend and return on our next vacation
Our party of six (2 adults and 4 kids) was seated promptly for our 7pm reservation. Siesta Key dining is so busy during spring break weeks and there are only a couple of restaurants in the village that accept reservations. Lucky for us Blu Que was on Open Table and had reservations available. The menu had a great selection ranging from casual fare to more elaborate dishes. We all enjoyed our meals and our evening at Blu Que!
