A Voce Columbus, located in New York Citys Midtown, serves Italian cuisine in an elegant atmosphere. The restaurant aims to serve simple Italian favorites with a modern twist. A Voce Columbus has a full bar that includes an extensive wine selection including Italian wines and domestic wines.
Try the fried calamari or the asparagus with quail egg and mint to start out your meal at A Voce Columbus. Choose from dinner items like the polenta or the veal. Choose the prix fixe menu and enjoy a five-course meal chosen by the restaurants chefs. Top off your experience with a cocktail and a dessert like the strawberry dolci.
I received a confirmation from opentable. I called the restaurant and the recorded voice said they would call back. I did not leave a message because I had received a confirmation from opentable. I arrived at the restaurant and it was closed. Any restaurant that cannot manage technology in today's environment does not deserve patronage.
We were planning to test restaurant for out of town guests in September. We will definitely not ever go to to this restaurant again.
When we booked at open table it said 22 people had booked that day....did they suffer the same disaster?
How does opentable protect its reputation? In future, it seems you need to make a personal reservation....as you do not seem to be able to rely on the technology. Sad.
It was very upsetting. When we arrived the restaurant was CLOSED!!!!!!
Well, i hate to say it, but you definitely need to get your records straight. There was not only no reservation, but the restaurant was closed. It seems to have been closed for awhile
Thank you
Sincerely

On Aug 22, 2016,
Restaurant was closed. Out of business? No one answered the telephone when I called. Made reservation on opentable but had to dine elsewhere...
Despite a confirmation email we arrived to find the door locked and no sign or any indication of what was happening. Very surprised to see A Voce operate this way. Needless to say it was embarrassing. We've heard nothing from them directly since.
The restaurant is permanently closed even though OpenTable booked me for it.
When we got there, the restaurant was closed. No one notified about it. We went for nothing. Very upsetting!
Restaurant was actually permanently closed when I arrived. Very embarrassing and inconvenient.
The prix fixe was a great value for lunch, and the meal was excellent. It was a great location and ambiance for a business lunch, except the amount of time to complete the meal. The wait staff was not attentive. Or lunch took 2 hours, which is excessive for a business lunch when people need onto get back to work. It was difficult to get our check at the end as well. It's as simple as asking if you're on a time limit for lunch for all guests, or especially when all parties are wearing suits and clearly coming from the office. I realize a prix fixe is three courses, but they still need to be cognizant of time constraints. The restaurant was not busy at all, so it was not because the kitchen was backed up.
Very good place to enjoy Italian food. The salmon with avocado appetizer was wonderful, as well as the salad with a slight balsamic dressing. The main was delicious, although the proportion was a little on the light side. A Voce also served one of the best desserts in New York; not too sweet while maintaining a very elegant fragrance that held various exquisite textures. Definitely recommend eating the lunch special.
We came for my mother's 70th birthday and were absolutely delighted. The staff were so nice and really helped to make the occasion feel special. The food was incredible, and that's coming from a family of foodies. Thanks so much for making my mom's birthday such a memorable evening.
Although A Voce Columbus was listed as participating in Restaurant Week and we asked for the Restaurant Week menu, we were told that it wasn't participating. Assuming I had made a mistake, we ordered from the regular Prezzo Fisso menu (at $35 instead of $29). Upon returning home, I checked OpenTable and confirmed that A Voce Columbus is listed. Upon calling the restaurant, I was told that only their Madison Avenue location participated. I quoted OpenTable and was told that Open Table was mistaken. I was told that my confirmation should have reflected the fact that A Voce Columbus didn't participate. It didn't. I requested a $12 refund and was told to forward my confirmation to them and they would "consider" it. I've heard nothing.
This is just plain bait and switch. If A Voce and OpenTable have a "miscommunication" (that's the word the representative used), that's their problem. It shouldn't have been mine. The communication to me was unambiguous.
A proper response should have been an immediate apology followed by the immediate offer of a refund of the price difference. Putting the onus on me to provide them with documentation, freely available to them, the presence of which they even acknowledged and then offering to "consider" a refund shows a deeply flawed understanding of customer relations.
The food was great, the ambiance was lovely, the service was attentive and unobtrusive but customer relations are awful.
Mixed feelings..first of all, we were seated at a dirty table with a dirty bread plate and crumbs on the seats. Second, we were there for restaurant week. When I asked for that menu the manager told us they don't participate in restaurant week at this location. (It was advertised.) Third, there was miscommunication between the waitstaff and it was complicated to order our water and wine. It was almost a spoof comedy of a restaurant on opening night. However,
once the food started coming out, everything was delicious and it was a great meal.
So, full stars for food, lose a few for service and presentation. The manager covered the wine ($35 bottle) for our inconvenience, but I still think it's a shame I can't give a rave review here. Order the gnocco fritto!! With prosciutto...One of very few places in NYC you can get this. Also the goat cheese ravioli were full of flavor. Some nice inexpensive wines on the menu.
Service was extremely slow today. Disappointing
went in for restaurant week because they had it posted on the website and after ordering drinks and spending about 30 minutes there, then we were informed they wouldn't be honoring the restaurant week dining experience... No bueno.
I understand mistakes and errors happen but do something for the customer. Anything...
Good but not great. The food was very good and tasty - scallops, tuna tartar, basil pasta, branzino and loin. However, the spacing between courses was uneven and often long. The view was nice, the service was ok but not friendly, and the overall ambiance was kind of boring. The service and ambiance need to be better for the price point and good quality.
A Voce has always been a great place for great food and service - Service this time was VERY Sub-Par. The waiter pushed menus in front of us before we were even seated by the hostess. They asked for the order within a minute or two - ( before we had a chance to even open the menu.) The appetizer came in an appropriate time - and the main course was longer than i expected - . We ordered dessert, and had to ask a busboy after 20 minutes where they were - we finally flagged the waiter several minutes later - who assured us they would be right out - but 5 minutes later - with no dessert - we asked for the check.
As i walked out - I was surprised that the hostess - ( who was not with another customer - and not on the phone ) failed to acknowledge that I was visible in any way. - I never thought that would bother me - but it did - Very Careless service across the board that evening
Brunched at A Voce. Food was unusual for a brunch menu, and quite delicious. Service was very attentive and the price -- for brunch -- unexceptionable. I'm not sure I could afford dinner. Wine was overpriced.
This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but the food is always excellent, well prepared, and attractively presented. Whenever I'm in New York I try to have a meal here.
Unofortunatly it seems that much has changed at A Voce. Appears to be more an exercise in menu engineering than in serving good food. The restaurant was quite empty at 6 p.m., yet service was shabby, inattentive and of no assistance (except to annoyingly wanting to set my place with silverware, the server was of no help). Big plates and ridiculously small portions.
view very good....came for brunch....but don't do gluten or grain....so not much choice ....mostly eggs....smallish portions...elegant plating but left hungry....went down to WholeFoods for some more food! Expensive brunch, not particularly satisfying....tho a quiet seat by the window helped me regroup on a hot Sunday.
Good quality food in a nice location, overlooking Columbus Circle. Nice atmosphere - modern, classy décor, suitable for quiet dinner. Service was attentive and professional.
The view is great. Food was good but not remarkable. Service was very very very slow. It took us many minutes (more than 20) to get a waitress to place our order. Our wines arrived after we finished entrees and the main meal was already served. We had to chase someone for the check so many times. It was not that the restaurant was full - we were there with only very few additional tables. Finally, bathrooms need to be better looked after... Service, training and willingness are in great need at A Voce. This was our 2nd and last time there.
A Vocé is always consistently on top of the food and service spectrum in the restaurant world of NYC. Huge fan of this restaurant and location.
Our waiter was absolutely inappropriate . Not only she messed up our orders, drenched me with a drink, started patting my friend's arm, came to the table with wrong orders and right after we had desserts and already asked for the check, she came back to the table with menus for dessert again. The grand finale was that she grabbed my face and kissed me!! I called the manager and told him what happened, He did called her in the kitchen and possibly reprimanded her, but he didn't bother to come, apologize to me and my friends or anything of the kind. Her name was Nadine. I was shocked and really disappointed with the manager's take on the situation. A restaurant with such high price and reputation could not possibly even permit such a thing. My friends and I (3 mothers with their teenager daughters) believe that person was on drugs. Absolutely unacceptable!
We've come for special occasions for four or five years, but something didn't seem the same this time. Maybe I'm wrong, but I remember white table cloths. This time all the tables were black with wood trim, easy to wipe off, and they looked a bit worn and cheap. What happened? It took a lot of the shine off the experience to me. For an upscale, expensive restaurant at Columbus circle with a view, you expect better. Bring back the table cloths!!!
Food was very good as usual, and service great, but the look was just off.
And by the way, the "mezza" size of wine seemed no where near 2 1/2 glasses. Better off to get two glasses where the servers pour.
The food is very well prepared, but the wine list is a little too long
Have visited a n umber of times over few years and it never fails to please.
A Voce is a "power New York" spot with a kitchen that puts out some pretty good food. The cavatelli dish we shared during our last visit was excellent. The raw fish appetizers are also quite appealing. The cost of the food is reasonable given the location. Wine list is deep and extensive. Pricey in a "Columbus Circle" kind of way. We had a very enjoyable evening with the statue of Christopher Columbus (in Columbus Circle) just out the window...
This restaurant is not only fine food and wine but a friendly and warm attentive place.
From the minute you walk in right through all the courses it has a great feel and ambiance.
The table was great, the food is good and could be better if they kept it simpler. Tends to have too many ingredients or decorations for added textures etc. not necessary. The service wasn't what it should be for this type of restaurant. It seemed like diner service from waiter not sommelier though she was terrific.
I've been several times for business or leisure lunch and dinner
The menu is always very interesting and the food very good. I like the way they interpret the Italian cuisine
Sometimes is too loud but you never go wrong
Presentation of the dishes is very sophisticated
Large selection of great wines
The featured salad was way too salty and was sent back. The waiter apologized and explained that this has happened before
The space is quite beautiful and nicely appointed, but was so noisy that it was not pleasant to be there
We went to A Voce for our anniversary and they provided a very special evening. We were accommodated by our request for a view. The food was delicious and the service was efficient and gracious. We will return.
Amazing experience. The new chef is masterful. The pastas and cocktails are incredible.
This is an upscale Italian restaurant with knowledgeable staff in a Milanese glamorous New York setting. The lunch prix fixe is a relative bargain and the service is attentive and friendly. The offerings for the prix fixe are interesting and creative.
Great food in a beautiful setting. We had 3 kids in our party. It would be nice to have a kid menu.
The setting and the service were all excellent. However, unfortunately the food was really sub-par. In particular, most of the dishes were way too salty. And I like a fair amount of salt, but this was over the top and just didn't taste good. Not only that, but the dessert was plain awful -- it had a champagne foam that simply did not work and was gross. None of the appetizers (Burrata or Octopus), entrees (Branzino or Ravioli) or the dessert was any good at all, but the price was eye popping. Could have gotten much better food all over the city for a quarter the price. Would not go back.
Consistently wonderful and comfortable atmosphere. Easy location and you can walk off the delishishnish
Used to have the most wonderful 1/4 roast chicken for lunch. No more. Now must order a whole chicken for 2 people. I was disappointed They took the 1/4 chicken off the menu.
