Fantastic food, we had the salmon and ribeye - both done perfectly. Really disappointed to hear they are closing. Hoping they re-open elsewhere - the chef's receipes are great!.
Great supper! So sorry to see you close. I look forward to eating where you end up.
Food was fantastic - excellent blackened snapper and salmon . Great location.
Great food, experience all things great. Then we hear they're closing. Bummer.
Great food and excellent service. I would recommend to anyone.
This is a great place for fine dining. Unfortunately after we were there, it announced that it will close it's doors after end-of -business on June 10, 2017.
So glad Kokomo has a fine dining option! Menu is approachable with affordable choices, yet upscale and gourmet. Salmon was fabulous! Love the renovated train station. Somehow managed Light and airy AND classic with warmth all at once.
Really good food in quaint downtown Kokomo; nice ambiance and outstanding service.
There were four of us in our party and we all had different entrees: fish and chips, crab cakes, shrimp and grits, and the fried chicken. All of the entrees were delicious and had very unique flavors! The service was friendly and made for a wonderful dining experience! My wife and I were visiting from Los Angeles and were extremely pleased to find this culinary gem in Kokomo!
This is a very good restaurant in a very neat location. Driving through Kokomo might have made you think it wasn't going to be good, by once we arrived, we realized this was a great place. Excellent food and above average service made this a great place to celebrate my promotion.
The food and ambience was great. The prices are a little above "market value" for Kokomo and the service was adequate. I am by no means saying thr service was bad; however, when you are paying a premium price you want to be treated accordingly.
22nd anniversary dinner for my wife and I. A. Michaels is in my mind the BEST place to have a meal. I had the surf and turf and the turf was one of the best fillets I have ever tasted. I showed my wife I could use a fork to cut it, it,was so tender. She had crab cakes that she said were the best she'd ever had. We have been here several times and always walk away more impressed than the time before. We have eaten at a number of A list restaurants in the past but we both are convinced that A. Michaels is one of Kokomo's hidden gems.
The food and service were incredible, as always. There was a three-course dinner option that we enjoyed. Our favorites were the chopped salad and glazed salmon in siracha butter sauce. Desserts are incredible. Fantastic portions (they don't send you away hungry!). This has become our go-to place for every special occasion: birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, and more! The new location in the historic train depot is so cute - it hits just the right balance of fancy and casual. We will be back soon!
So disappointed...drove 45 minutes and was really looking forward to a relaxing fine dining evening. Our service was slow to start but entrees came very quickly and felt rushed. No offer or opportunity for another beverage. In and out in 40 minutes...that was one expensive drive-thru.
A real treasure in Kokomo. Was looking for something good, a bit nicer than usual and was lucky enough to find A. Michaels. Only concern was getting in on a Friday night but lucked out because when we ate. Food and service were both excellent. Portions are large but was warned ahead of time so ended up splitting the entree. Only downside to this was that we could try more things on the menu. Good though not extensive wine list. Make sure to save room for dessert!
Will definitely be back.
Always enjoy eating here. The food is wonderful. a great place to meet up with friends. You might want to review the fish and chips, this was the 1st time it was a little too crispy. We will always frequent this restaurant.
Such a nice break from the chain restaurants in Kokomo. The service was great, the food was fantastic... best steak we've had in a lot big time. It's so nice to see the downtown area coming back to life.
We always have a great time. The food is the best in Kokomo.
First time at this location. Like the depot setting. The food was delicious with large portions to satisfy the appetite. The wine list was respectable also. It was a good setting to share an occasion with friends and have conversation as well.
Took my 88 year old mother for dinner before local theater production. She loved the food. The wait staff was not friendly but the food made it worthwhile. The salmon and sticky pineapple rice was delicious.
Another great dinner with friends at A Michael's. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great - AGAIN! I've been there 5 or 6 times and it's been great every time.
Nice old town historic location. Much more trendy than a chain for a special occasion yet comfortable enough for a non event dinner. Steaks were very good, a little pricey overall but worth it.
Didn't like the fact there are tables as soon as u walk in the door, right next to hostess desk. People coming in and going out, alot of traffic right there.
Food was excellent as usual. Always enjoy eating at A Michael's.
From the time you walked in to the time you left, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The kind of place that makes you want to keep going back.
Amazing experience!!.. AWESOME food! Great atmosphere and service!! Would definitely recommend it to anyone!
My wife said her steak was incredibly good. I really enjoyed the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Service was superb. The only slightly negative aspect was our table, which was right near the hostess and bar - not an intimate spot for a special occasion and rather noisy. But the food was worth it.
Out waitress also was working behind the bar; had to stop another waitress to bring bread to our table and to cash out. Waited at least 15 minutes to cash out. However, food was excellent!
Loved the food and wine. Was very impressed with the entire experience. Loved the ambience of the restaurant, will definitely be back.
It was our first time eating there. The service and food were great. We would recommend it to others and will go back again.
Food taste was excellent but the portions were a small. The appetizer was tasty, but not enough to share I could have done with out the television in the dinning room. They had a lot of high top table, which could be a problem for some.
Loved the food, service & atmosphere. But as we walked in we were hit with a strong odor that remained through our dinner. My guess is sulfur water is the culprit. The hallway to the bathroom was the worst. The bathroom itself was fine as it had a scented candle lit. Maybe more scented candles would help. Also, the dining room was cold since the door opened directly to it.
Kokomo is rather lacking in good or interesting restaurants. This is the best one I have found during my occasional trips to this area on business. I likely will return there the next time I am in the area.
Very Good experience. Outstanding food!!! I would highly recommend to my family and friends.
So glad we tried a.michaels. I had seen there ads in the Kokomo Tribune and wondered. We tried it are very pleased we did. I have recommended it to others and will return im sure. I also appreciate the open table service.
Thank you for helping us celebrate my husbands 30th birthday! The food was outstanding & the beer list provided lots of options! The dessert was a special & unexpected touch. The food for the price was a great deal! The outdoor patio was a wonderful place to enjoy an unseasonably warm September night & enjoy the car show on the street as well. We were pleasantly surprised to see that we can visit even on non-speical occasions & bring our family/friends! We're looking forward to many more meals & memories to be made at A. Michael's!
Food was great. Neat location. Definitely going back. Might be one of the best filets I've had.
I was traveling through Kokomo with my three children. We booked the restaurant on Open Table and were pleasantly surprised. The setting in an old train depot was darling, we were able to sit outside and the server really catered to my children. She was also knowledgeable about the menu. The children's menu had more than just burgers and chicken fingers. When we were finished eating they were able to choose a toy from a little treasure box. They loved it and so did I.
Wonderful food and service. New location is very nice with easy parking.
Tried the shrimp and grits. It was great. The chef knows what he/she is doing. Good value. Will definitely return.
