Never sure which is better: the food or the service! Luckily, we never have to choose. A Mano is our favorite date-night restaurant.

A Mano's authentic Italian food is flavorful, without being salty or greasy. The name change has not effected the quality of the food, which is made by the same chef, and continues to be consistently excellent. I've been coming here for years, whenever I come to Salem. I highly recommend this place.

Their house made pasta is well worth the hour drive from my home. My favorite is the tagliatelle alla bolognese, a meat sauce over delicate pasta.

The mussels appetizer is amazing! It's well prepared, and contains no grit, or pearls. It has fresh tomato sauce with fennel seeds that enhance the dish, without over whelming it.

The tiramisu is light, airy, and indulgent, without being overly sweet.

The service staff is friendly, and the modern rustic decor is a welcome change from the stereotypical Italian American restraunt. So eat here, because it's one of the best restaurants in Massachusetts.

This used to be an upscale restaurant with great, creative cuisine. Now it has remade itself, apparently to be seen as less high-end/expensive. The menu is pretty limited, a few fancy pizzas, a few pastas and a few entrees. But they are very well-prepared and creative. Just not a lot of choice. Fortunately they still have my favorite dish from their earlier incarnation: garganelli, a delicious homemade pasta dish with duck, dried cherries and pine nuts.
The server was not very attentive, didn't even tell us the specials or apologize when we mentioned that - after getting our meal - when we overheard another server describing them.

My favorite restaurant in the North Shore of Boston used to be 62. When I heard that the 62 management opened up A Mano at the same location I wanted to try it. My expectations were high and they were not met. Everything was OK, but NOT at the level of 62. One of 62's specialties was Raviolo al Ouvo. I was excited to see that this item was on the web menu and I was touting how good it was to my friends that had never been to 62. When we arrived at the restaurant the waitress told us that the web menu was not updated and this dish was not available. There was nothing that we ordered that even came close to the delectable food we always had at 62. Sorry A Mano you missed the mark with me!

The restaurant has very little ambience. The food was good. The service was terrible. It took over 1/2 hour to get our appetizers. One was a cold app--and the hot appetizer came out cold. My husband's drink was only served after we asked where it was.

We love this restaurant and come here often, but it's small and when there are large noisy groups it's hard to have a conversation, as happened to us on Saturday night.
