My friends and I always have a great meal here. The service is great, the restaurant has a good vibe and the food is really authentic!
Great food, service and ambiance.
Very safe during the Omicron pandemic.
I've been here many times and its always a great experience.
Can't wait for the belly dancer and crowds to come back!
Outdoor space amazing. They even have installed a button at each table to call the waiter for service. The food was plentiful and tasty excellent Selection
The Stuffed Cabbage was out of this world! A La Turka has excellent socially distant spaces with good heating. Have been there several times during the pandemic and always very satisfied.
There are too many tables crammed inside with very little spacing. We had a reservation and they pointed us to the table right next to the front door. Finally they sat us in the back and the servers made too few trips to check on us. After waiting 15 minutes to get a water refill I had to get up to find my server. This restaurant has not adapted well to this Covid environment. I recommend another.
This restaurant has consistently great food and good service.
This was my second time at the restaurant. I felt that the food portion has gone down from the last time I was there. Wish there were few more fish options.
The food was delicious. The restaurant was busy with a happy vibe. I look forward to going back.
My husband and I love A la Turka. Everytime we return to Manhattan we try to eat there at least twice. On this trip we ate there twice. They seemed to forget us. We got our wine and salad
fairly quickly. Our entree actually came too quickly.
We hadn't come close to having our salad. Then we were forgotten. We wanted dessert. After waving our hand in the air, a gal with a dessert tray came. We told her our choice. She left and never returned. Waiter never came back. Finally my husband got up and went to bar to say we wanted our check. We paid and left. Such a sad finale to a really fun week back in
Everything was great 😊
The person pour the water and clearing the table was amazing. Such a lovely man. Give him a raise!
The waiter was rude and mixed all the instructions we gave him. It seems like we had bad luck, because other Walters looks very efficient and professional. The food was delicious, but the poor service made our experience a disaster.
Very sad! I celebrated my birthday and visited down from Texas to visit this place.
Ate at the outside “shack” which is very nice as far as those things go. Service was lovely and food is very good. It’s just pricey for what it is. Overall a solid neighborhood spot. Just maybe not every week.
One of my favorite restaurants. Great menu, great service.
Loved this restaurant. Have to say that the beef kebob was one of the best I have eaten. And the service was excellent
Food and service were very good.
Biggest disappointment was jerk eating in restaurant. Bald headed, middle aged guy was obnoxious...loudly talking on the phone. A complete jerk.
If we go back, I think we will say something like...
Can you please keep your voice down and be less of an entitled jerk?
I ate at ALT a few months ago and thought the food was not as good as I was used to. In particular the food seemed “rushed” - like it was prepared too quickly without attention to detail. It just wasn’t up to what I expected. Last night things were “back to normal”, meaning REALLY GOOD!! Shepherd salad, cacik, hummus & octopus all excellent.
We had a family Thanksgiving dinner at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service attentive.
The appetizers were terrific but the lamb and chicken was tough and dry on the shush kebab.
We ate in one of their newly 'winterized' outdoor sheds on the 1st really chilly night in November. It was perfect! We had the shed to ourselves, the sliding door allowed air to circulate nicely, and there were plenty of heat lamps. We all enjoyed the food - the Feta Cigar appetizers were delicious, the hummus was excellent, and the Manti was the best I've ever had. Only caveat was the very limited number of vegetarian dishes - plenty of veg mezze, but no equivalent main courses other than 2 vegan dishes.
We had the four course lunch special and thoroughly enjoyed. There was an impressive number of choices for each course. I had the stuffed cabbage which was beautifully flavored with fragrant spices. The borek and zucchini pancake appetizers were delicious.
As always, the food at A La Turka, a very popular Upper East Side restaurant, was excellent and portions were generous. We have had many of the appetizers and entrees and all have been delicious. The Chicken Village, Hunker Begendi, Stuffed Cabbage, and Chicken Saute are especially good entrees and the hummus, lentil soup, shakshuka, and a la Turka salad are excellent appetizers. But, the service is inconsistent. Sometimes, it just takes a very long time for dinner. Most of the servers are responsive but, very simply, others are not. Go to A La Turka and enjoy the consistently excellent food, knowing that it may take you a while to have your meal.
Lamb was a little tough but did come medium rare
The price fix lunch is delicious and the waiter was very accommodating. Unfortunately I think they are phasing out the price fixed because we had to ask for the prix fix menu
Good food, good price
Healthy food, consistent good service
I love A La Turka. I am vegan and so happy that there are delicious choices for me!
I come here every few weeks with friends, and I go almost weekly to the sister restaurant, Blue Mezze, especially when I am dining alone.
Both places are fantastic!
The chicken, a specialty, was overcooked. The beef raviolis, also a special, were not served hot enough and they were very garlicky.
Food is fantastic, and the amount of seating makes this place a great destination at all times!
great dependable food as always.
service was impeccable with great attention.
one thing that could improve is the insistence on one main course per person. if a group is ordering enough appetizers to make up for the main course prices, this should be flexible somewhat specially when dietary limitations are considered.
Went for lunch on a beautiful fall day, dine outdoors. Nicely spaced and did not rush. Had the prefixed - appetizer, salad, entree and dessert - great combination and delicious.
Best Turkish food I have had outside of Istanbul!
Food was outstanding. Loved the dips and salads. Falafel was delicious.
We had a wonderful time. The food was excellent. I had beef kebab it was delicious. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food.We will definitely come back to try the rest of the dishes.
Excellent Food! While the ambiance outside is certainly not indicative of the rest of the establishment, we had great service and overall a lovely experience.
This is a top choice place to eat delicious food, have great service at a reasonable price. We loved the zucchini pancakes, eggplant with peppers, green salad and grilled chicken kabobs. The portions are generous and the bread is also delicious and served warm!
Food is tasteless - no spices no salt - large portions, as the waiter said American sizes. Well it’s also American flavors I guess certainly not Turkish. I thought it was terrible and the service was mediocre at best. I took half the food home because I didn’t wanna waste it and figured I’d give it to the dog. Why would anyone serve such giant portions? It’s such a waste.
