A La Provence Ratings and Reviews
Good ambience, wonderful food and excellent service! There is a good variety of quality wines and many food items to choose from. I had the warm spinach salad and filet mignon with dauphine potatoes and vegetables. Both were delicious, and the beef was very tender and a perfect medium rare, as requested.
Enjoyed a delicious meal here. Brian was very attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. This is a lovely restaurant, but because of the prices, for me, it will be special occasion only. My French onion soup was outstanding and my entrée was delicious. Just didn't have room to try a dessert!
Great food, however the service was poor at best. Had reservations and was told we had to sit at the bar. When we said no, we received a table, as there were open tables. No bread was delivered to the group until we stopped one of the waiters. Went without water refills until we stopped one of the staff. Never lit the table candle untill we asked. Just seemed like a chage in the quality of their restaurant was happening before our eyes.
I celebrated birthdays for two special people on successive days at Provence. The combination of the ambience, enhanced by Christmas decorations, and the expertly prepared food made each occasion extra-special. The warm spinach salad is so good I had it two days in a row! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Went there for Thanksgiving meal with my elderly aunt, expecting a formal, classy environment. Instead, it was very noisy, crowded, and not particularly clean. The tables were so close together that my aunt could hardly get through with her cane. The turkey was dry and the presentation was abysmal. Given the reputation of this establishment, as well as the cost, I was expecting much better. I will not be back.
My wife and celebrated our wedding anniversary. The food was fantastic and plenty of it. Our Waiter was very friendly, knowledgeable and we had great conversation with him. The only issue with the evening, was we had two couples seated at the table next to us. They were obvious regulars, due to their conversations we clearly and loudly overheard. What made it worst, was due to the present national, State and local elections, their beliefs were totally different from ours and we almost left. We did consider moving to another table, but our evening was almost over. Everyone has their right for an opinion, but my wife and I did not need to hear it on our special night. We will be back and hopefully a better table. Thank you!
Upon being seated, we began our drink orders. There was only one beer choice??With a liquor store next door, why would you not please your patrons who are only beer drinkers? He was forced to either begin with a mixed drink or abstain while others were served.
Secondly, the waiter, very polite however, he failed to inform us the cost of the beef special and we were blown away when we received the bill. Shula's does not charge that price for their largest steak!
Way to expensive for the overall décor, atmosphere.
We enjoyed a fabulous dinner on Saturday evening. We were a party of 6 and everything ordered was delicious (everything from cheese tray, to salads, steaks and seafood). The pre-dinner drinks were prepared perfectly and the wine choices were lovely.
This is our 2nd dinner at A La Provence and it has been consistently amazing!
My significant other and I had a very nice dining experience. The staff was courteous and attentive, and the ambiance was soothing and tranquil. However, the food was was not worth the price. Each entree' was about $30, but it honestly should have been half that. It was good not great. I probably wouldn't revisit for that reason.
This is near home for us; sadly this was a bad choice! wine list pathetic (we're out of white burgundies!)
Nothing seemed fresh or carefully prepared; food presentations were inadequate, service was spotty and strained.
Lamb dish was fatty and purple rare.
Even vegetables were disappointing. Nothing seemed carefully prepared.
In short, and in summation: "QUOTE THE RAVEN.....".
