Horrific weather but great food. We even got to meet the owner. Fabulous
Great atmosphere, awesome food, excellent waitress we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
The bouillabaisse at $32.00 seems to be inconsistent. I had a poor batch with little seafood and no flavor which was later supplemented with a small portion that tasted how it should have been. I was told it was from the same pot but how?? It was a special occasion and ruined it for me. I wish the waitress had insisted on taking it back to the kitchen
Particularly love the charcuterie platter. Never disappoints!
I took my mother and two friends to celebrate a birthday. I had eaten lunch at this establishment before, and on that occasion the dining room was fairly busy; however, on this day, we were the only ones there. It took us a while to figure out what we wanted to order, and the waitress took her cue from us, giving us space until we were ready. We each received exactly what we had ordered. It did take quite a while for our food to come, which was a little surprising since we were the only ones there. Some of the things we ordered were tomato soup, mussels in an unusual broth ( I don't recall the ingredients but blue cheese was one), crab crepes and crab quiche. We enjoyed absolutely everything. The quality of the food was definitely worthy of a special occasion and made us feel like we were really celebrating. When dessert was brought out, there was a little candle in my mother's profiterole and she was wished a happy birthday. This was a special touch, especially in light of the fact that we had not mentioned the birthday to the waitress. Overall, the experience lasted about two hours. We had a wonderful time, and we all felt we wanted to return soon.
I think the food was OK, but not for what we paid - even though it was Valentine's day and there
Valentines Day prix fixe meal was delicious just over priced compared to others. Music with dinner was great!!
We were connecting with friends and Valentine's day was the only day that fit. We were not aware it was a 'package' on that day. Initially worried by the limited menu package the seafood medley and beef wellington we ordered were excellent. Flavorful, well-sized, and delicious. Live music was an added surprise. Brewed a fresh pot of coffee for us - excellent! We will keep going back!
Special Valentine’s Day dinner - $95 fixed price. Nice ambience with live music and food was excellent but service was horrible. Clearly they were understaffed and for that price should have delivered top rate service. Very lacking and will not return
Exquisitely prepared food . Too many tables for a small place . I would certainly come again !
Our waitress, Rachel, was great.. but she did not have a lot of help. We love A La Maison, but will never go back for Valentine's Day, or to any fixed price restaurant on that day. Loved the music aspect. Bread was fabulous. Maison salad was decent, not great. Had two tiny walnut pieces. We brought a bottle of wine, but were never offered other wine or champagne(which were included in the price). The scallops in the appetizer and the entree were very mediocre. To be fair, 95% of the scallops we get at any restaurant are no better, and a lot are worse. The only time I will get scallops at a restaurant is in the summer at the beach. Nobody seems to know anything about "dry" scallops, which is the only scallops I will try. Creme brûlée was good; chocolate pot de creme was excellent. Had wanted to have the glace(s) for dessert, but Rachel talked us out of it... something about not having a lot of it. Don't know what that was all about. We love this restaurant and will definitely be back.. my kids gave me a gift certificate for my birthday..but we will NEVER return on Valentine's day. The $95 per person was not worth it.
Wow what an awesome Valentines Celebration. The perfect romantic experience! The food, service and entertainment were perfect. Been here four times now and have never been disappointed. Glad we choose this place for our special evening.
We dine at A la Maison frequently and the food is consistently excellent. We also love the fact that it is BYOB, so we can bring our favorite wines at a reasonable price. About six months ago they started to have live entertainment which we very much enjoy. It’s well worth the $10 per person cover charge, since the food is so reasonably priced, and they make no profit on the wine. The owner is often they’re eating dinner to make sure that everything goes smoothly. This is a gem.
The food and service was very good. We were surprised when we arrived to see a note on the table that there was a. $10 charge per person to cover the music. This should have been told to us before we arrived for dinner.
Saturday night is not the time to have a band and charge $40 per table as a cover without telling people in advance. I will not return. To bad we like the place.
Would dine here more often but when there is live music the owner charges $10/ person extra. Not worth it. Big mistake.
The food was way to expensive for the quality.
All the items we ordered were excellent- a great variety of pates, the moules frites- a wonderfule onion soup, profiteroles- and the service for our table was outstanding . A most enjoyable evening was had by the 4 of us.
I've long thought that La Maison is sort of under appreciated. And as a BYOB, it can't be beat. I've consistently been happy coming here for several years now. I hope they're around for a very long time!
As always, the dinner was delicious and service attentive but not intrusive.
I have been here several times for lunch and always thoroughly enjoyed it. You would be hard pressed to find a better crepe anywhere in this region - they all are good bu the one with salmon is exceptional. My friend had that omelet which she thoroughly enjoyed - a wonderful neighborhood spot - more should try it for lunch. Prices very reasonable.
They lost their chef a month ago and the new one hasn't quite got it right yet. The menu had all the old standbys (hasn't changed in over 10 years!) but they dishes were just a bit off. The scallops were not seared enough and bland, though of good quality. The chicken was a bit dry and the skin not crispy while the sauce was, again, bland. I don't think the new chef has a good touch with seasoning. Other dishes were fine including the duck and mussels. I hope this is just a transition but I'm worried.
We always enjoy dining here as often as possible. Everything about this place is amazing; staff, management, owners, food ETC... We would love to see more vegan/ vegetarian options but still very good! Walking into here makes you feel like " what did I just discover?" The vibes are great and the environment is classy to say the least.
If you are looking for a place that is low-key, classy, chill, GREAT FOOD and a wonderful experience THIS IS THE PLACE! You could take you family there for nice dinner, or take your lover there for a romantic setting. Whoever you go with will be in AWE ! Just remember BYOB
Thank you for making us feel at home

Great food. Very crowded space. Wait staff knowledgeable. Maybe a touch slow. But a meal well worth it.
A very disappointing dinner this visit. The beef order was very tough and my husband’s order was lukewarm . What has happened?
Our last visit to A la Maison was on New Year's Eve. We had the prix fixe menu and enjoyed our entrée choices of sole, beef, and crab very much. We also had a wonderful cheese and paté appetizer that I would love to have again. The restaurant was very crowded but festive and the service very good (kudos to our server Clair). There was a wonderful orchestra and overall we had a very enjoyable evening bringing in the New Year.
a regular patron. unfortunately. took 1 hour 20 min to get the salad. another 45 min for main COARSE. food served just above room temp is the best i can say of the main coarse. creme brulee good. $95 fixed prix new years. wanted to chrg extra 2.50 for coffee. totally unprepared for new years from the kitchen to servers to runners. have to think hard of returning
The food was tasteful however the service was extremely lacking. I have been to a la maison 3 times and each time has impressed me less as far as service goes. They were a bit understaffed as we were told when we went in but our server all but ignored us. The gentleman at the front was courteous and kind which we enjoyed. The gentleman carry water to the tables and bussing was extremely attentive and was the salvation of our night. To him we gave and extra tip. The music was also aptly set to a relaxed volume and was pleasant. My only real issue with our night out was the lack of attention from our server. She was at our table for 3 short passes and only brought us one of the five courses we paid for. This night was supposed to be special and it felt almost lack luster from the start. And for a 200 plus bill I expected more courtesy. We will not be returning to a la maison.
Sixth New Years Eve in a row here.
This time the fish was over cooked and the veal was under cooked. Waitress didn't check in, so we had to flag the water server.
Always a pleasant experience. Great bistro food. Special night bonus with jazz combo.
The food was good. The service was okay, our waitress was a little too "familiar" with us considering we just met that night. We were a bit disappointed with a $20 cover charge that was not mentioned when we booked the reservation. They just happened to have live music that night.
Two of us ordered special T-bone steaks medium rare. They were served closer to well done and the sides were never delivered. We commented to the owner who seemed to take little interest in our satisfaction! No way to run a small intimate restaurant!
love this place - normally 5 stars but this time the quiche and salad was so so. served cool, small serving, side salad dry.
Very slow on a somewhat busy day. Waitress was very busy and was by herself. Lunch was very slow.
We have been here numerous times and always enjoy. However, the afternoon of our reservation I received a call from the Bistro confirming our reservation and also informing me that starting Dec 1st they now have a $10.00 per person music charge. I spoke to the owner on arriving at the Bistro and he told me that if you book on line it does not mention this new charge. Although the music was lovely, I'm not sure worth an additional $10 per person. I believe anyone booking this restaurant through open table should be made aware of this additional charge.
Delicious food gracious wait staff beautiful environment and ambience
Excellent restaurant. Happy to have it in the neighborhood! Did not rate it outstanding because of a seating situation...
Four of us went to dinner tonight. The dinner was lovely and the service was great. However, there was an ensemble playing when we came in. The were a little loud, but ok. When the check came, we were charged $10 per head for entertainment. It was listed on the bill as ‘gift card.’ There was no mention of this charged when we made the reservation nor is there any indication of this charge on their website. We paid it, but the people at the table next to us refused. They had a very unpleasant encounter with the owner. He basically told them to leave. We won’t be going back.
We had a just-OK dinner here - we found the service very slow and frequently had to ask for things. The food was well prepared but not inspired and we had the odd experience of feeling like interlopers - everyone else around us seemed to be a regular and well known to the wait staff. Nice for them but we definitely felt that, as newcomers/outsiders, we got less than stellar treatment. Not good enough for me to want to go back - plenty of other great places around.
We had a very disappointing experience. We went on a weekday evening, the restaurant was not crowded, but the service was incredibly slow . Some of the food was served cold. Will not be going back
