Great restaurant with an amazing view and great food!

Nice experience. We had a private table with fire. Service a tad slow but otherwise great.

Made a reservation for 9pm. Arrived & was told they closed at 9pm. Please update your open table times - disappointing to have a reservation + then not be served.

It was pretty amazing came to celebrate with friends my 21 , Lucius was outstanding he was very polite and very funny and very humble guy he made me want to come back. The food and drinks were pretty good an amazing service all around

Looking for lunch that we didn’t have to wait over an hour to get in, and so happy we found A&O Kitchen inside the Balboa Bay Resort. Three adults and two kids in our party and all ate very well - crab cakes appetizer followed by a LARGE fish & chip order (enormous cod filets), the grilled mahi fish tacos, lobster roll and the kids enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich and a kids Fish & chips, which was just as large as the adult portion minus the Cole slaw!
Take advantage of free valet parking by having your ticket validated at the restaurant also.

Came here to check out their Newport Beach Restaurant week menu. Food was ok. Service was on the slower side on a Holiday- MLK day.

For $20 the value of the 2-course lunch was good.

I had the tuna poke for appetizer and it was a miss. The tuna didn’t taste super fresh. It was on top of some guac. The whole thing was on the mushy side. It was served with fried wontons that were crispy but felt oily.

For entree I had the Fish tacos. They came in 2, with a good sized piece of fish, and topped with cabbage. Not bad but nothing that I would go out of my way to have again.

If you sit outside, you can see the water and the boats. Inside was fine and there were birds flying around which was a bit distracting.

They validate your valet parking.

I was hoping we could do some walking with a view but there isn’t much to walk around.

Overall, experience was fine but would probably not return for lunch.

The food is excellent

Making a dinner reservation with A&O 10+ weeks prior, I arrived promptly for my 8:30PM dinner reservation and was directed to be seated outside in 45 degree weather on NYE. This table was literally at the very end of the patio, almost next to the valet. Politely asking the host if we could sit inside (where half the restaurant was currently empty and the live band was), he declined. I requested to speak with the restaurant manager next. He did accommodate us with a table inside as long as we were done with the table in an hour. I accepted the offer and after the hour passed, he came by to communicate that the table was ours for longer (due to the fact that the restaurant was still pretty empty). I am disappointed that A&O was so hesitant to give us a table inside, to two couples in their mid 30's who are nicely dressed up for NYE and also celebrating two birthday's. Definitely felt like I was NOT a priority to A&O at all. On the upside, the waitress was fabulous!

It took nearly an hour to get main course during lunch when not busy.

Nice place dockside on the bay. We had a party of 9 and sat on the patio. It was a gorgeous day. The staff were very attentive. The food was good, although a couple of the items were overly salty (fries, chicken, dipping sauce for the fried calamari). Overall, though, we enjoyed the visit.

great waterfront restaurant with excellent food, service, ambiance, and music! Trevan was playing while we were dining and we really enjoyed them!

Service was great and location, right on the Bay/Boardwalk is perfect.

The patio looked nice but it was too cold. Typical hotel restaurant inside but the cocktails were fantastic 👌 good band playing too!

Appetizers were really good. Don’t miss the brussel sprouts!

Great service, awesome view, good food and great selections of wine, beer and spirits. Came here for a business get together and we had a great time!

Service was horrible considering the location and prices. Food was not what you would expect with those prices and location either. I never leave bad reviews but this was an overall bad experience. The waitress didn't add tip to the check but then added it to our cards so two members of our party were over charged by $50 and then the manager couldn't even figure out how to fix the problem.

Friends wanting an impromptu get together for lunch. First time diners for my friends who frequent the area. They raved about the location, the view, service and food. As usual, A&O did not disappoint. One of my favorite “go to” places.

Nice location in the Balboa Bay Club on the water. Food and service were pretty good, however, almost every table was full of large groups of unruly kids. Go somewhere else if you want a relaxing dinner with a nice view.

Dinner outside with friends. Ordered a bunch of sharable items. Brussel sprouts are delicious. We also tried the Smores for desert and it was amazing.

Food was great but service was not good that day. Other times I have been there, service was good.

You ask about noise level but there was no prompt for TOO LOUD for conversation! It was a scene for Locale magazine so maybe louder than normal but difficult to talk within our group of five.
We all enjoyed our food.

The service was negligent, and the noise level was so high! They need to redesign the restaurant with soft surfaces for the amount of noise in this place. I had to remind a staff member twice that we needed our order taken. And the food was only okay after waiting so long.

Great food with lots of choices and the service was wonderful. We had a party of 13 and every single person loved their food choices and thought the service was perfect.

The service was awful. Food mixed up. Dishes not as had been presented previously. Slow.

Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He was helpful with special dietary needs. The live entertainment was fantastic!! Lucas and Alex were amazing and sang requests, pleasing everyone with many types of genres. Truly added something special to the evening.

Had a great time with my friends for my bday. Just sad that I couldn't get the table reservation that I made outside due to some people that sat in my table 5 hours before and didn't leave till later. They made it up setting a table half outside half inside. I guess I wasn't lucky but I loved the atmosphere there :)
