A&B Lobster House Ratings and Reviews
I have dined here once before and had a good experience with both the food and service, but sadly this time our party was disappointed. The restaurant was essentially dead and yet our service was very slow to say the least. The drinks were not refilled consistently, my steak was average at best. My scallops were very good and the sauce was quite tasty. the overall speed of service was horrible. The view was nice but wish the food and service had matched it.
We went here for my boyfriend's birthday. This restaurant and another were recommended, after looking at both menus we opted for A & B. We are quite pleased with our choice. The server was very attentive, the ambiance was perfect and the food exquisite. We will definitely return and would recommend this restaurant to friends.
We found this restaurant by accident! There are two restaurants one on the ground floor which is causal and Berlin’s is upstairs.
You can eat inside or outside overlooking the ocean! Both equally nice, white linens in and out. Great service by Luther!
Hubby had a New York Strip Steak cooked to perfection and I had the Sea Bass special it was amazing with shrimp and asparagus! We started with a shrimp cocktail which looked like the one in the movie Beetle Juice! This means the shrimp were huge and delicious!! Definitely going back next time we are in Key West!
I made a return visit but this time with friends. Our soup was cold. Our mash potatoes were hard and cold. My crab cakes were luke warm. The coffee was cold and my friends got water for tea and only got a half cup of warm water. Asked for more hot water to be topped off and it was still warm and again only filled half way. Did not want to say anything to waitress. She seemed new but very nice but feel for the money we paid there should have been more attention to detail.
Don't get me wrong. The food was "good".
There was nothing "bad" about anything (I had the filet and my husband the Maine lobster). However, for a tab of close to $150.00 without alcohol or a tip, I expect something more.
I expect an actual "dining experience".
What we experienced was a very tender steak and a tasty piece of lobster.
That's it. Nothing more.
Even the service was mediocre.
Nothing bad but nothing great.
Overall, a big disappointment.
Filet mignon was very good. They even brought me a side of au'poivre sauce. yellow tail was not that good though.
Service was good. Everyone was very nice. We usually go every year and almost did not because of some bad reviews. I think perhaps people have it confused with the restaurant downstairs????? A&B is the upstairs, more fine dining.
We were celebrating my wife's birthday. This is one of our favorite formal restaurants for special occasions. The service was nice and relaxed, just as we like it. My daughter ordered the New England clam chowder, and couldn't eat more thatg a few spoons. It was mush too thick and spiced very strangely,- unlike any New England clam chowder she has ever eaten (and she lived in New England many years. The waiter took the full plate from her and didn't ask her if there was any reason why she didn't eat it. My wife ordered the Lobster thermadore and only ate the chunks of lobster because she really didn't like the souce. It may be just taste, but I defintely was a bit dissapointed.
Never got to try it. Although the restaurant stated they were open till 9:30 pm on their website and I was able to make a reservation on open table, I received a phone call, 20 minutes later, stating they decided to close at 8 pm that night. We had to find an alternative and Willie T's was wonderful and fun!
We went for the first time tonight and we loved every bite! The key lime cream cocktail was excellent. We are out on the balcony and Philip was a great server. The small plate scallops were melt in your mouth and the lobster bisque had just the right flavor. The Filet and lobster surf and turf was cooked perfectly. Simply can’t wait to go again!
Overall a great dinner experience
Sunset was not viewable but overview of the harbor is quite nice.
Dark & Stormy martini was a great beginning...along with the lobster bisque.
Lobster was terrific
Right sized; great flavors
Scallops were same - size, texture, taste were outstanding
Overall a dinner worth remembering
$$$ is correct
The food was excellent. Very creative dishes, which was great. Our family loved it. However, when we arrived, we were offered a table by the kitchen for five, which was oddly located. It could have been a disastrous meal, as the fifth seat sat out from the banister, in the aisle by the kitchen door. That table should be for four, it was too large to fit in that area. However, the hostess was kind enough to move us, when we asked, since the restaurant was not full, and it was low season. In the end, we had a great experience. The food was good, and by the end of the meal, we forgot about the original seat assignment. The reason I say this is, no matter what, this is a place to visit. The food was excellent.
