Our experience got off to a bad start when we walked in the front door and couldn't find the restaurant. we were eventually pointed down the hall to what felt like alternate accommodations rather than the usual restaurant. our table was against a cold window. the bus boy looked more like a janitor in a tee shirt with a walkie talkie on his belt. he slammed down saucers in place of bread plates and made a comment "these are a little small but they'll do". the bread was hard and soaked in oil, literally inedible.

the waitress was at least pleasant but when i asked for her recommendations for a dry chardonnay she suggested a riesling. at that point i gave up on the evening, choked down my dry dumplings and crudely dressed salad and pretended to be satisfied so as not to embarrass my company.

thumbs down. the only part of the experience i can speak well of is the waitress and hostess were nice.

The Legend of Chrissy...
We had read reviews about the restaurant in selecting our choice. Many mentioned "Chrissy" as the server that makes the experience special. We arrived. Forgot to ask for Chrissy. Seated, we reviewed the menu and ordered some Champagne. The server came with the bubbles and, realizing I had forgot to ask, I looked at her nametag. It was Chrissy! I told my new wife, it was our honeymoon, "We were in the presence of greatness." Very fun. And we ran with it all night, referring to Chrissy as "Rockstar". She IS a delight. Wonderful dinner and fun evening. The Maine Coast Chowder is AMAZING! The whole lobster is an EXPERIENCE. Only suggestion...put the vegetables on a separate plate as the lobster juice ran all over them and pooled on the plate. Small issue. All else was wonderful. And Chrissy is too!

Wonderful service and wonderful food. Perfect views and beautiful décor. Lobster dinner was amazing. Servers are the best we've ever had. Chrissy was our server on the last night at the hotel and her personality was so uplifting and energetic- such a wonderful experience.

We have been fans of the Nonantum restaurant for years. Of course we looked forward to our favorite dishes. The new menu is very limited, and quality varied with the dishes. The Lighthouse salad is gone, new choices were disappointing. Two of us had the scallops which were very good. I ordered vegetables instead of risotto, they were hard and undercooked. The two others had the flat iron steak. It was so tough, even done medium rare, you could barely slice it.

The new room we were seated in has beautiful views and is nicely decorated though the lighting was too bright after sunset.

We welcome back the old menu.

We had a great meal and especially good service (Chrissy was our waitress). Notable dishes were the shrimp & lobster dumplings appetizer, the roasted chicken, and the scallops. Very good food and would recommend to friends/family.

went to celebrate my husbands retirement, there was 4 of us, even though there was a wedding going on, it was quiet and we got great service the food was hot and excellent, are server was wonderful, and at the end of the evening she took off the cost of some of our apps, that was so sweet. we will go back again when we return every year!

When my husband and I arrived at 95 Ocean we wondered whether we had made a mistake. The restaurant is in a family centered resort (we had not known this) and it was very noisy. When we arrived at 7:30pm we were first seated in an area surrounded by large tables with many young children--not what we wanted for our first night in Kennebunkport. However, the hostess re-seated us in a quieter corner table away from the noisiest groups, and the evening improved. The food was excellent--carefully prepared and beautifully presented. Our starter was a beet carpaccio, ample enough for two, and delicious. I had pan seared scallops served with a roasted garlic risotto. My husband had halibut (I think it was roasted). In both dishes the seafood was absolutely fresh. By the time we had dessert, an excellent chocolate bombe, the families were mostly gone and we could enjoy the guitarist who had bravely played on in spite of the hubbub. We recommend 95 Ocean for the food--but try to go after the family rush!

We chose this restaurant because it was walking distance from where we were staying for a couple nights. I'm so glad we did! We had a table overlooking the water that was very nice. The service and food were both fantastic. The portions were daughter and I shared the kale salad and there was PLENTY for both of us. The dressing on the salad was delicous. I would definitely order it again. We also shared the sea scallop dish. The scallops were perfectly seasoned and cooked well. I would also order that again.

If we are ever back in the area, I will go back to 95 Ocean.
