Hannah and the staff did a fabulous job for us on the occasion of our friend’s 70th surprise birthday. The food was delicious, the service fantastic and the table setting beautiful!
The service was poor-- our waiter practically told us he couldn't wait to get out of there. The food had clearly been prepared ahead of time and then left out for a long amount of time before being served to us.
Had reservations for 5:30. Only one other table was seated and it took 30 minutes to get our table ready. We were seated and the server had to be located, but the norm us to order online. I saw no entrees listed online. 20 minutes later the server showed up and read off 4 specials she wrote down on paper, but they did not have a menu. We got up and left. The "restaurant" does not seem equipped for serving dinner. They do have a full bar for drinks though.
I made a reservation online through the website for 10 of us for breakfast. Upon arrival the hostess informed us that they do not take breakfast reservations to which I informed her was news to me since I had made one successfully.
After we sat:
· There was no coffee
· There was no orange juice
· There was no hot water for tea
· There were no water glasses
· We couldn’t get the online app to work to order our buffets and we asked the waitress (when she could stop running around like a complete lunatic long enough after exclaiming how she has not had to wait tables in 20 years) how we needed to work plates since the days prior you had to wait for them to bring you one. She pointed to the buffet in exasperation and said that the “plates are right there” like we were complete idiots (Ummmm.. sorry but we are not psychic and nothing was working like it usually did on other days process-wise so we figured we had better ask) . Of course there were a total of four plates for 10 people so we were still out of luck.
· When my husband tried to make toast the toaster would continuously shut off ..
· When four of us tried to get omelets and waffles the station kept losing power and they could not cook them
· Finally after 20 minutes of head scratching and chaos between the kitchen staff, servers and line of guests trying to wait for eggs and waffles, it was my husband that pointed out to them the direct correlation of the toaster which, when depressed, would blow the electrical circuit to the entire buffet thereby turning off the burners for the eggs and waffles. They never did anything about it but unplug the toaster and toss it into the window so of course, nothing could be toasted and who wants to eat raw bread or a raw bagel?? Additionally, our friends all gave up on omelets and waffles and just ate scrambled eggs out of time constraint and frustration since it had already been 40 minutes of chaos since we had arrived.
Amazing time. The staff was awesome, and we really enjoyed the food.
Food was just so-so for the Christmas Eve Buffet. It was mostly a self serve situation. Poor value for cost. Too bad really as the location was excellent and we would have eaten here more if the food was better.
I wish I could leave zero stars. The service was the worst I have ever encountered anywhere! Food was mediocre and pedestrian. I recommend this establishment be avoided at all cost!
When we arrived we were told that they do not accept reservations and had no knowledge of the one we had made. As the restaurant was basically empty there was no problem being seated. Menu was small, food okay at best. Tip was added to cost of meal and then tax added which included the tip charge. We were not happy with this place.
I was so dissapointed when I showed up to find that the restaurant was closed. I showed up for my reservation and come to find out the restaurant was closed for an event. Which was fine except I felt that they should have notified me in some way.
Food was average at best. the service was lagging and very little attention to detail. We will not be going back.
When we arrived at the restaurant we were told that a because of a surprise health inspection the kitchen was closed. About a year ago while staying at the adjacent hotel, we tried eat there and were told something in the kitchen was broken so they were serving a very limited menu of five items. We learned our lesson; we won't plan to eat there again.
The hostess seemed amused that we bothered to make a reservation. The restaurant certainly lacked in ambiance and the service was slow. The kicker was when the bill arrived, with an 18 percent "service charge" added to the meal- for two persons. Now, I always tip, but I don't like that decision made for me and there is no incentive for the staff to earn the tip.
I was never told a "service charge" would be added to the meal, before the order was made. The food was okay but not worth what we paid for it.
When we were seated, I asked for a Wine List, The waitress said,"we don't have a wine list"
these are the wines we are serving tonight. I then asked the manager if they still had Wente by the bottle he said no. I thought he would have said would you like to see a wine list? Which I did find out later they had one. It was noisey and I thought that for Valentines Day it should have been in the nice back room dining room? I would love more then anything to recommend the restaurant, but it is still very inconsistant. The lunch is great with great service, I don't know what the problem is for dinner? When we arrived I wanted to confirm that dinner was $75.00 for two, like stated in the paper. four course meal for two, for $75.00. They said that was a mistake. They did honor the newspaper price, if they hadn't we would have left. Two of my guests, one a chef and the other a past server and bartendar and couldn't believe the lack of communication. I love the location and the fact that Elevation is the only full service, ski in ski out facility on the mountain. It should be a four or five start hotel!!
We would not recommend this restaurant as it was super empty, the kitchen did not have many items on the menu available (curiously the most appealing items were not available), and what we did get because we figured they couldn't mess it up (nachos) had something that tasted like bleach on them. It's too bad that Mt Crested Butte doesn't have a very good dining scene, but I guess they can't compete with the Town of CB's dining options. But part of the reason they can't compete is that at least this option is a very weak option.
Excellent food for slopeside dining.
This restaurant, as well as the entire hotel, is horribly mismanaged. My family was there along with several other families and initially looked forward to the experience because the facilities were very nice and clean. We were very disappointed. They would wait to inform us as everything we tried to order, they were out of it. We sat there for nearly 2 hours.
Bad service, bad management, waste of time.
Since we were staying there, and we didn't have many options for food on the mountain, we tried this place for breakfast too with the same results.
Its a shame that such a nice place on a prime spot such as Elevations is so poorly managed. We will never go back.
9380 ran out of food before our 7:15 pm dinner reservation. They were nice enough to call in advance to let us know.
We had dinner here for a party of five. Incredibly slow service, unattentive and then the food was cold! Very noisy atmosphere and they told us they had no more napkins when we asked for additional one. Poorly managed and run.
I had a dinner reservation through the Elevation Hotel and Spa website that offered flowers. I took my fiancee and I hoping that I could surprise her and the flowers were supposed to be there waiting for us. When we got there, we had no reserved table which I can understand as we were the only couple in there except for a small family and one other couple. The waitress had no idea of the flowers suggesting that I was wrong and they only had that offer of flowers during Valentine's Day. This showed me that they had no ideas of their OWN offers on their website. When the flowers showed up it looked like nothing what I paid for not even the right colors and didn't even match the ribbon that was tied onto the vase. It had the wrong name on the card and the card was wrong it just had Happy Anniversary and then messy hand written Happy Birthday on it. It looked like it was rushed to be made. Then half of the menu couldn't even be served and we were limited to a few choices which made the night even worse. Water wasn't even re-filled regularly. The mash potato was cold and tasted like microwaved mash potatoes. The expensive dish wasn't even as tasty as the regular sandwiches they offered. I took a look around and it seemed as the whole staff was just wanting to leave and clean up which made me feel like that's the reason why half of the menu wasn't available. Felt really rushed on getting out of there. Overall, I don't recommend this place at all. If you HAVE to eat here...get it to go or delivered and go with the sandwiches. The other pricier dishes are not worth it and the staff is very unprofessional.
My family spent our spring break in the hotel associated with this restaurant. I tried to order room service but was told to call back because they were getting slammed. I had lunch there alone and it took 30 minutes from the time I ordered to the delivery of my salad. All of us had dinner there one night and it took 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive as well as almost thirty minutes for our appetizer dinner to be served. We kept hearing "we are getting slammed." I would think that the amount of business during spring break would not be a surprise each season and / or day of the spring break week. The food was great and the servers were all very nice, but apparently the kitchen and bar need more help!
The restaurant is very conveniently located in the Elevation Resort. It advertised a new chef and very nice specials for the weekend. Unfortunately, neither the food nor the service lived up to our expectations. We had drinks at the bar and the bartender was rather surly. For dinner, I ordered the Veal Osso Bucco special but it was not cooked long enough and therefore quite tough. When I asked for additional sauce, it came refrigerator-cold. My husband ordered the prime rib medium rare but it came well done. One of our friends ordered the large portion of meatloaf and it was very small (about 4-5 oz). When we returned another evening, there was no one to check us in. I had made our reservation through Open Table and no one knew how to access the system so I could get credit. It's very apparent that the servers have not received even the most basic training.
We were not impressed by the restaurant. We ate there beacuse it was at the bottom of the hotel but the food was not that good for the price charged. Also, there were kids running around with cell phone ringing every time they got a text -- I thought this was supposed to be a romantic place? Our waitress was sweet however and I do think that she was trying.
Waited at hostess stand eternally to be seated Valentines day with reservations . Sat apposite from a group of 3 couples with 6 kids (5 an under) unbelievably loud. Waited for server. Most seemed interested in closing duties and getting off work. Took forever to tell us they didn't have the wine we ordered from a marginal list. Wrong salads came out twice (still no wine) 1 1/2 hours later at 9:15, still no food. Left. Paid for a full bottle of wine sitting at table. They put our steaks in to go boxes.
The food: My wife ordered tomato basil soup. What arrived at the table was something that looked and tasted like half a bowl of pasta sauce! I ordered the basket of fish & chips, which arrived tepid.
The service: Service was terrible. We tried this place twice, giving it the benefit of the doubt but it failed us both times. The hostess was clueless. Examples: she didn't know how to check us in for our opentable reservation - and instead 'canceled' the reservation. Second, she told us that the kitchen was so backed up that it would take at least 30 mins to get our food. When we were seated, the restaurant was empty, and the food didn't take long at all. Third, she was pretty rude and when we asked for the manager, she lied and said one wouldn't be back for 30 mins. Fourth, when we asked when the happy hour was, she didn't know there was a happy hour!
Conclusion: The restaurant has a great location, but they are wasting it with untrained staff and poor quality food/bad service. Unfortunately, there aren't more options in the area.
Service was poor. We never saw anyone until we got up to leave. Ordered prime rib and was served the leftovers from the night before. This dining experience was without a doubt the worst part of the trip to Crested Butte
Fun place after skiing
Had a reservation for 5. We were asked if we had a reservation and then were seated. Two of the six glasses on the table still had lipstick on them from the last diners. Our waitress was brought to the table by the host and did not seem to speak much English and was not able to get even take out drink order. The first thing she said to us when we sat down was "Are you ready to order". We asked for more time to look over the menu and for a wine list, the wine list was finally brought out by another watress. It was multiple peices of paper stapled together. The dining area didn't seem very busy with customers but there seemed to be a lot of employees milling around. When our waitress came back to take our drink order and didn't understand what I was asking for when I ordered a Fat Tire Beer I asked if there was someone else that might be able to wait on us that spoke English. The whole vibe of the restaurant was very weird and after the things that happened with the waitress we decided to leave. Not sure how the food would have been but at the prices they had on the menu I expected much better service.
Second year in a row to visit. Nice venue, but we have tried again with similar results. Food mediocre = NOT homemade and service poor at best. Competing loud inside music with outside BAD live music.
I was a little bummed out about this restaurant. I was looking forward to a nice dinner, and this place didn't deliver. The restaurant was super loud, and not a good loud because you could here the echo of everyone's voice. The service was super slow. The server was nice, but I didn't want to wait around all night for dinner especially since we had a toddler with us. The food was just okay. I had prime rib, and it was over-cooked. I had read the reviews before we visited this restaurant, and I was hoping that the other reviewers were being over critical, but unfortunately I would not recommend this restaurant.
Food was very good for being located in a resort hotel. The lame duck service workers was showing that this was the last weekend of the summer season. I would recommend especially if you are staying on the mountain.
