8th Street Steakhouse
Need to book at 10:23 AM?
With a magnificent Western ambience, our restaurant is focused around our two 20-foot lava rock grills where our patrons season and sauté their steaks to perfection. With the help of our friendly staff making sure their wine is filled and steaks turn out perfect, it’s no wonder we've been a steamboat tradition for over 25 years. Let us make your steamboat dining experience one to remember tonight!
Need to book at 7:00 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Busy night within Restaurant Week so crowded but staff did a fair job of keeping up. Price of special was very reasonable. Quality of sirloin, salmon and chicken very good. Side dish options good, though baked potatoes were at best lukewarm inside. Desert was great.
Cooking your entree selection was fun.
We had a very large group - 16 people. We were able to make a reservation and got right in and right to a table. Our server got all our drinks quickly and explained the menu. The whole group had fun grilled their own steaks. What a blessing. Thanks!!!
Cooking your own protein is a different dining experience. Liked the Restaurant Week special.
Delicious meat and yummy dessert!
When we arrived they host said there’s you table and pointed. Was not expecting to have to cook my own food and it was way over priced.
Great experience. Fun atmosphere. Buffalo steak has amazing flavor and was the favorite of three steaks at our table. Our server was awesome.
Believe it or not this is a cook your own steakhouse. However, the website says nothing about it. Wonder why? Our group of four walked in for dinner, sat down, reviewed the system, got up and left. The staff was unhelpful and rude. The meat display case did not look appealing at all.
Stay away from here. There are a lot of great restaurants in Steamboat.
Is excellent place , quiet, romantic , clean , I love to enjoy a glass of wine while I cook my steak, people respectfully around, thanks excellent service!!
Soo much fun! What a different experience! Great food and service. This is a must
Totally surprised! In a good way . Good salad bar, and you get to pick your own steak , chicken or salmon And cook it. Fun wonderful experience and will definitely be on our list to visit each time we are in Steamboat. Kid friendly 😉
The food was quite good; however, we did not realize when we made reservations that we would have to do everything except the side dishes ourselves. Cooking our own steaks was okay, it just didn’t work so well for the one member of our party with mobility issues. I would also have appreciated knowing more about the price of side dishes and how many servings they were. The salad bar was excellent and the quality of the side dishes and meats was good. It’s a good value overall, as long as you aren’t expecting someone to actually serve you.
You cook the steaks yourself, which was weird
I didn’t realize I would have to cook my own food. My steak took ten mins less than my friends so I ate alone while she finished hers. Overpriced for decent service and food I had to cook myself. Sides are a la crate and overpriced as well, my friend payed $5 for 6 steamed asparagus with no seasoning.
Family reunion of 20. Perfect setting for us upstairs delicious food and great service!
We always go to the 8th Street Steakhouse when we are in Steamboat. We always ask to sit in Keri's section, as she is such a delight.
We haven't been to 8th St steakhouse for several years. We usually go to E3, but 8th Street was available and I needed a steak. Two of us got the Buffalo steak, cooked it as recommended and it was delicious. The sides were very good and just the right size to share with a family of four. Our server was also very nice and helpful.
I won't wait so long next time to go back.
Unique dining experience, where you cook the entree. Quality of the entrees was excellent.
This was our fits visit and we did not realize that you had to cook your own steaks. Our waiter was rude and did not even greet us and explain the process. It was very poorly run. You cook your own steak on a grill that is not supervised with little kids running all around it. No reason for a waiter.
Delicious steaks and yummy side dishes. A good & affordable wine list and our waiter Mark was friendly, knowledgeable and provided excellent service.
Has a wonderful time:). Great food.. will definitely go back:)
Be prepared to cook your own steak, if this isn't a problem, then I highly recommend this place. The cuts of meat are the best in town and they give good instruction on how to cook them. I also enjoyed cooking Texas toast on the grill and eating it while drinking my beer and talking to my buddies and a couple of tourist. It's hard for others to text when they are actually having a conversation and trying not to burn their high dollar piece of meat. The only issue that I have is that they removed the poster from the men's room (you know the one). That to me was a legendary poster that had been up there for years, I was very disappointed that it was gone. I hope the removal was only temporary.
It was a fun atmosphere but expensive and not a great value for having to cook your own steak. A larger salad bar and include a baked potato would have made this a better value.
Food good, however, service mediocre at best- ribs arrived cold. This place feels dated. Be sure to cook your own meat- the filet we cooked was delicious.
We always love 8th Street Steakhouse! It’s a must for our family every time we’re in Steamboat.
Kids love this restaurant!
Food was really good. You have to get the 8th Street Tater for dessert!!!
Had a problem with a steak and the manager didn't hesitate to replace it. We will definitely be back and I will definitely recommend this restaurant to all our friends.
Very pleased with meal and service. My 8 oz NY strip steak was tender and flavorful. The house merlot was pretty tasty also. The side portions are very large, definitely meant for sharing. I think the grill area could be a little more organized with better separation of used and clean utensils. I wish the buffalo steak was offered as a smaller cut.
Fun dining experience, very knowledgeable and friendly staff! Meat choices are AMAZING as was the spinach artichoke dip. The salad bar was fresh and kept full. Will definitely be back, and will recommend to friends and guests.
The 8th Street Steakhouse owner Tim Pahula and his well~trained crew provide everything and we mean everything for a fine enjoyable evening in Steamboat Springs cooked by a great chef: YOU!
This restaurant is a gem and is centrally located. Its name is its address just off Lincoln Avenue.
The cuts of proteins are various, generous and fairly priced. The salad bar is amply stocked with ample choices.
The staff are professional and several have been working here for many years.
As infrequent regulars, we love the bar as well as the food; the bartenders are excellent.
Great experience cooking your own choices of meats and lots of fun as a group- we were six. The food was excellent and we pretty much managed to cook all our steaks the way we like them. Minor gripes, the sides, fries etc didn’t arrive until we were half way through our steaks and it wasn’t particularly busy. Second they were too keen to close up and were putting chairs on tables and sweeping the floor around us whilst we were still eating and drinking, not really what you expect even if it is their last skiing week.
Best steaks we had in Steamboat. Great fun to BBQ yourself.
Staff are all very helpful and welcoming.
We visited twice in 6 days!
Great value for happy hour burgers - environment is fun and casual - nothing like cooking your own food after a long day on the mountain - salad bar can't be beat in town
This was a fun restaurant and the food was delicious. My only complaint was the fact that they were out of filets when it was time for me to pick out my steak. But the New York strip was delish in its place.
It was great, thank you!
Very crowded and noisy. Seemed they wanted us to hurry so they could turn the table over for the next customers! Expensive when you have to serve yourself and cook your own food - but are still expected to leave a tip. At least I didn’t have to do the dishes ...
Last year we were on the first floor and loved it and would highly recommend. Food was great and my son could not wait for another bison steak. This year we were upstairs, the grill was packed, too loud to visit and the wait was forever.
It is a little over priced for the food. The price on the steaks was high enough to have included at least one side.
Always great seeing Tim and Mary @8th. Had out wedding rehearsal dinner there in 2012 and continue to go back and see our friend. Excellent, friendly service, have been a loyal customer since 2006!
Did not remember we were celebrating a birthday even after putting it in reservation and calling ahead about it. Waitress brought dessert w candle then abruptly left it at the table and announced she doesn’t sing
For 30 years we have becoming here as a family, first Boomerangs and now 8th Street Steakhouse. Steaks are great, all you can eat salad and great family time around the grill as you grill your steak. Highly recommend this establishment.
