Shared small plates were excellent. Lots of gluten free and vegetarian options for all dietary needs. One of my favorite restaurants for girls’ night!
Decent place. Service could have been better.
The food is good, but the music during Sunday brunch is extraordinary. The place has a nice, relaxing atmosphere, service is great .
Best gluten-free restaurant between Baltimore and Philadelphia, no doubt. Only place I feel safe eating without having to doubt the kitchen.
8th & Union Kitchen made a lot of improvement from our last visit. We had a few vegan people in our party and their brunch menu wasn't very vegan friendly. They kindly made us a vegan omelette that wasn't on the menu. It was fantastic. The chef really nailed the vegetables on it. I'm very happy that they were so accommodating and thoughtful.
We really enjoyed the evening. The staff was amazing and the food was unique and delicious.
Food was over seasoned. One guest in our party sent her meal back twice. Once was way over cooked. The other was ice cold. Very disappointed. Service was fine but the food is not worth it
Fantastic service, awesome food, friendly and fun staff. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
It was OK server was not great and food was just OK
Service was almost nonexistent. Waited 10 minutes after seating to get water and then another 10 minutes to just order drinks. There were empty tables guess they just did not have enough staff. Food was good once we got it
Wonderful brunch food. I am gluten free and can’t normally eat brunch foods. I had a delicious crab cake eggs Benedict dish.
Loved 8th and Union - food was phenomenal, service was excellent and ambiance was perfect. New fave spot.
The food here is just ok
Tried to order two different bottles of wine, and they didn't have either. Food was way overpriced for what we got. Quality and taste of food was disappointing. I would not return.
nice atmosphere, server was good, entrees took more than 35 minutes to come out, causing my family of five to be late for an 8:00 show. This family Christmas outing is something we do every year and show tickets are expensive. It put a damper on our outing.
We went on 1/2 price burger day! Burgers were delish! I'd go back on full price day with no hesitation.
Dessert, however, was another story. . . .got their $9.00 bread pudding. Serving was way, way too small for price & made with gluten free bread. Sorry, Tasted terrible. Chef should make a regular one also.
This was our first time eating at 8th and Union. I was told that they had good vegan options. I was a little underwhelmed with their vegan selection personally. We ended up getting corn soup and french fries with dip.The vegan dip options were just okay. Honestly not worth the extra money over getting plain french fries and ketchup. The corn soup had a nice flavor, but was very thin almost like water. I guess I like my soup a little thicker. My daughter enjoyed her cauliflower bites. The only vegan option they had on their dessert menu was discontinued when we tried to order it. The server told us it wasn't popular. I'm not sure why they didn't replace it with another vegan option. Service was very slow for a place that wasn't super busy. I honestly think our server forgot about us at one point. The owner came over to our table to show his concern after a glass shattered in my 4 year old's hand, which was nice of him. My son was thankfully okay though I did suggest they contact the manufacturer since he could've been seriously injured. The decor is quite lovely. I had been here years ago when it was a different restaurant, and they really made it look a million times nicer. I think it's worth a try if you've never had them, but there is definitely room for some improvement.
The wait staff was not very attentive to our glasses. They are not forth coming with pricing with specials. They staff seemed more concerned about each other than there tables.
We come here regularly for the gluten free options and usually it's very good and one of my favorite places to eat. But our last two times here, the service - which used to be consistently great - has been almost nonexistent and the food has been extremely slow. This time although the place was empty, our food took an embarrassingly long time to arrive and one person was left waiting even longer than everyone else. The music was blasting in a basically empty room. Cold mushy defrosted strawberries on my $9 dessert was a bummer. Really disappointed for a special occasion dinner.
Awesome as usual. This is my favorite local restaurant. Perfect for me since I am gluten free.
the smoked prime rib was excellent, especially when combined with 1/2 price bottles of wine on Thursday.
Always great food. Sometimes loud conflicting music and crowd noise.
New favorite spot in Wilmington. Excellent menu and cocktails. And the service is the best I've had since moving here
Wonderful birthday dinner. A joy being able to eat great gluten free food.
Strong veteran team. Occasional slower times with new waiters. But the vets step in.
Very accommodating to special diets!
The service was good, the food...not so much 🙁. Too bad, I really wanted to like it.
Great casual place with great food. Reasonably priced. Good music also.
Met friends for our annual birthday dinner. We were looking for fun and not too expensive, and it fit the bill! Great service, good food and drinks. What else could you ask for?
Great location on Wilmington's thriving west side, with plenty of parking. The menu offers plenty of choices, but the burgers really rule here! Salads are a great option for those watching their calories with a wide choice of options and of course the added protein toppings (salmon, chicken, crab, etc.) Pricing is very reasonable. One of the big plusses, especially when doing the business lunch routine, is the great service provided by our server, Bob, who was very quick, never intrusive, and very polite. Many servers could use some lessons from Bob, who understands that when it is a business lunch, to try not to interrupt unless positively necessary, and to watch for signs that there might be a need. Nice Job!
Where to start? For a restaurant that bills itself as gluten-free, it struggles in many areas. Not many gluten free beers, and the one we chose (marked GF on the menu) was not gluten free. That brewery does make one GF beer, but the one on their menu isn't GF. The server knew we were GF, but someone else served our appetizer - oops, they picked up the NON-GF version. (Server recognized problem immediately and brought the correct one, though not before we had all taken a bite.) Calamari was fantastic. Fish and chips, garlic mussels yummy. Desserts good. But goo came out of the bottle of water we had at our table. The owner compensated us for the missteps - There were just too many of them.
What a wonderful gem! They had great wine, great food options well constructed - - our server was knowledgeable on the menu and the ambiance was great - - very cozy!
Food ok. Service very poor. Was not busy. Maybe server new? Set a bad tone for the entire meal
Just about everything on the menu could be made gluten free.
The food left much to be desired. Brisket was dry, tacos had way too much cilantro. The crab cake sandwich was the highlight along with the fried rice.
Usually the service is great. But we had a waiter who was apparently new, or at least overwhelmed so another waiter (the big guy) had to bring our drinks after 10-15 minutes of sitting there. And slow throughout the meal. But we will go back We love the place.
Awesome gluten free choices for anyone with celiac or who is gluten intolerant. What a wonderful experience!
Our food was good, not great. Some dishes were better than others. I thought our server was particularly friendly and helpful
Late afternoon find turned out to be very pleasant? Quick stop featured many surprises for my wife and I after all
Very quiet on a Friday night, but it was nice to be able to have a drink or two and being able to hear the person I'm with.
