Best italian on UES! Great service, great otdoor seating
the food and service are really spectacular. They have done a good job with COVID activities although their approach to heaters is not ideal. Nevertheless, this is always one of our go to places in the UES.
There are times when I dine at a neighborhood restaurant and feel like it’s overpriced. This restaurant is slightly pricier than some others, but it is worth every penny! The food is so delicious, and I’ve been thinking about it since we ate there 2 nights ago. Every thing we ordered was well received. I highly recommend the porcini tortelloni on the regular menu. And any place that starts with complimentary focaccia earns 5 stars in my book :)
As always, 83 1/2 met my expectations in that all of the food was outstanding The ambience and heating provided were very good given the dining out of doors during the pandemic. The service as great and the waiter very accommodating.
83 1/2 continues to provide good food and good service.
Pasta fagioli was delicious and warming on chilly night.
Table shared branzino regular menu item and two special entrees: salmon and pasta stuffed with pumpkin - all were outstanding!
Homemade cannolis finished this great meal.

The service is exceptional. Something that adds to the experience of dining out that is often overlooked. All of the staff and servers have been and are consistently lovely.
We had such a lovely dinner here. Delicious Veal Parm and one of the best squid ink seafood pastas I have ever had. Great outdoor dining area. And our waiter guided us perfectly with his recommendations. All around outstanding!!

This place was great! The service was amazing. The servers really knew their wine and food. All super nice. This was my first outdoor dining experience in Manhattan and it was perfect. I would definitely come back!

Wow, some amazing dishes. Eggplant parm was outstanding, as was the sausage and sundried tomato cream pasta. Had 2 glasses of wine, 2 appetizers, 2 mail courses and it was $110. Fantastic value for top-notch food.

Food was outstanding, but quite pricey despite having the $$ ranking. Cozy neighborhood place, but NOT inexpensive.
Small, Italian restaurant with some delicious dishes. We went around 6 pm...empty..but restaurant filled up by 7pm. Homemade pasta, delicious appetizers and no rush....excellent service. I would definitely return.

This is my second time to 8 1/2. First time we had delicious food. This time food was mediocre and bland...the branzino encrusted w zucchini and the chicken Milanese

Daniel was an excellent server and we had an incredible dining experience for our Valentine's date. We had to change bookings last minute because the other restaurant we reserved was understaffed and poorly managed--waited for 10 minutes at the front and no host showed up even once! So we found 83 1/2 up the street and we're even more thrilled we ended up there. We will definitely be back to 83 1/2.
