Above all, it’s Vincenzo’s love of people that makes 83 ½ what it is: a warm, welcoming place where friends and families share their passion for food and familiar faces. We can’t wait for your family to meet ours.
Incredible food and great service!
The restaurant was cute and cozy. We ad an out of the way table. The wine was wonderful and the meal was delicious
This little restaurant is a gem. Our dinner was delicious. Our waiter was very attentive. We started off with the artichoke special appetizer, delicious!!! The veal chop is hands down perfect. We also had the orecchiette with broccoli & sausage, which was amazing. Sorry but we couldn’t fit desert, I’m sure it is delicious.
Furst time there and will definitely go back food was excellent
Very European feeling and overall lived it
The service and food were excellent as always! We are always treated so well and leave looking forward to our next visit.
Love 83 1/2. The food is consistently delicious and the service is excellent!
I always enjoy 83 1/2. Varied menu. Excellent wine list. Service is always excellent. Food is fresh and creative.
Nice outdoor set up; Cold night but warm enough with heaters. Dinner was delicious; bottle of wine normal mark-up. Attentive service.
Delicious food. Great outdoor option (real outdoor - one side open for fresh air!) Attentive waiters. Good option for good food in a Covid-safe outdoor setting.
Great food and service. Nice place for a date as it’s quiet and subdued lighting.
Lovely meal and attentive service. I would definitely go back
Great food and excellent service. Can’t wait to go back.
This is one of my favorite places in Manhattan! The food is outrageous, the service is fantastic. A top-notch restaurant! I’m here at least 1 to 2 times per week. Recommend it to everyone!
The food and service were great! Excited to return!
We had the octopus insalada- delicious & a large portion. Then enjoyed the sausage & pasta as well as the tortellini fungi. Both fantastic! A nice bottle of Chianti as well.
The outdoor seating is well heated. Tables a little close together but very comfortable chairs, rattan, we were pleased they were not metal as it was a chilly night.
Un-rushed service. I’ve been here before & will certainly come back again. Great price for the food. Wine is on the higher price point end, $60-$300+. With only 2 at $60. Mostly $100+
For a few years now I have frequented 83 1/2 almost weekly if not twice weekly. The staff and food has never disappointed. To me this is home away from home and a place for friends to gather.
This is a wonderful little neighborhood spot that is perfect for a quiet dinner. It seems to have a loyal local clientele and is one of those places that you will want to claim as "your own".
Seafood did not taste fresh, Tagliatelle advertised for one dish was just a thinner linguine, sauces were uninspired. Service and drinks were very good.
Truly the best Italian on the UES, and there is A LOT of competition around!
Neighborhood gem with outstanding food and service
One of our favorite NYC restaurants. Outstanding food and service. So good to be back!
Delicious food and great wine selection! We were seated near the wall and the waiter had to reach over us multiple times during our meal to grab a wine bottle from the shelf- which was interruptive. Prices are a little high for the serving sizes too. The clams and linguine are amazing!
Wonderful homemade pasta dishes with a lovely, large wine selection to pair.
We had a very enjoyable evening. The welcome at the door was warm and honored our reservation. The wait staff was attentive offering drinks. We were not rushed to order our meal. Food was delicious and came out appropriately after our order. Food was hot and well presented. Wait staff offered to bag our left overs. Dessert was very good. The bill was fair and reasonable. The over all experience was one which will lead us to return in the future.
Overall mediocre. We don’t normally get Italian as we have very high expectations given excellent family cooking in this cuisine and so maybe our views are biased. The fettuccine bolognese was below average and reminded us of Chef Boyardee. The deserts were good and were the highlight of the evening.
My favorite neighborhood restaurant where I enjoy romantic dinners, business meetings and casual get together with friends and family. Love it!
Love this restaurant. A neighborhood gem. The food is delicious and it’s not trendy and loud!!
83 and 1/2 is a neighborhood gem that never disappoints. No matter what you order, you can count on the fact that it will be delicious and I have eaten here many times.
Very good food! Would recommend
Very indifferent service given the restaurant was nearly empty when we dined. Didn't put wine in cooker. Never offered to refill glasses. Plunked dessert menus down in a pile and fan off without asking if we even wanted dessert. Took forever to get a check. Totally inattentive. However, food is always delicious.
Delicious food and wine. The atmosphere was warm and vibrant.
To be honest I've been here before and the food has been Better. Also my waiter could have have been alittle nicer. He insisted to move my bags into a different location due to the minimum amount of space, and I understood. But he moved them near the front door where there was the most traffic to get the linen forks and knives and food. Once the night was over, he was not so nice in helping me get the bags. He pointed to the floor and said there they go.
He also didn't even offer me desert after my meal. I really felt like they wanted me leave after we had one round of drinks and 3 bottles of wine plus dinner. Don't think I will ever go there again. I rather have gone to Ginos Pizza next store. Food is better...
Food is always great as well as the service.
They did not honor our reservation and were unapologetic. We walked out and will never go back
We love this restaurant. My wife is a huge food snob and 83 1/2 is always exceptional! Most consistent and reliable place to eat on the Upper East Side.
The food was delicious but we left with stomach aches, most likely because we at it too fast!
My favorite Italian restaurant on the upper east side. Veal chop parmigiana is singularly the best dish on the UES. Great service. Daniel is the best
Delicious food, great service, nice outdoor seating area with heat lamps!
This was the most disappointing restaurant I have been to in a while. To start off, when we get there they asked if we were going to drink and we replied yes. The waiter placed the drink menu on our table, before we even had a chance to look at the menu the waiter asked if we were going to drink anything. Because we did not order drinks on the spot, he took our menu which we then had to ask for again. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time ,so I don’t understand why the waiter was in such a rush. We then try to order our appetizer but were told that “the chef doesn’t like taking orders like that”. Interestingly, the older couple who arrived after us ordered their appetizer first without a problem. When the calamari arrives despite its delicious smell, it tasted so so bland. The red sauce was nothing to rave about either. I was not looking for a refund but the waiter did not ask if there was anything wrong with the food despite us leaving a lot of it on the plate and refusing to take it home. If I had tried the calamari before ordering dinner I would not have ordered their Lobster and Crab ravioli alla Vodka, like everything else it was below average. (I also didn’t finish much of that). My friend ordered the bolognese which was better but the meat to pasta ratio was way off. I would definitely not go again, and would not recommend it.
we love this restaurant—-all good
