Above all, it’s Vincenzo’s love of people that makes 83 ½ what it is: a warm, welcoming place where friends and families share their passion for food and familiar faces. We can’t wait for your family to meet ours.
great food and service. always terrific.
Daniel was a hospitable and friendly server who we appreciated. Food was tremendous as usual.
Food was delicious and service was excellent!
Always reliable, friendly, just a little warm and too close to ‘your neighbors’. A little tight and crowded. Staff is very courteous and willing to please...
Exceptional Italian food. Another level relative to most UES Italian restaurants. Small space most conducive to couples or groups no larger than 4.
would recommend it as a good neighborhood restaurant.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city!
Perfect neighborhood spot near the Q train. The service is always friendly and food is well prepared. Fantastic date night spot that eliminates the need to travel down to LES.
Fabulous Italian food. Feel like you have been transported to Italy. Best eggplant parm appetizer and grilled artichokes. The veal, chicken and fish are all wonderful -- (we don't eat pasta but it looks incredible too!)
Food was delicious, they did a great job of splitting and plating everything, and the service team is great.
83 1/2 had an opportunity to deliver outstanding customer service. My friend and I enjoyed a bottle of wine, the delicious eggplant ball and the endive, apple, gorgonzola salad. Unfortunately, the entree was not edible. The shrimp and scallops were overcooked and the dish had no flavor. We stopped eating after it after two bites. Finally our waiter came back and we shared our thoughts respectfully. He asked if we wanted something else, and at that point, we were done so we said no. We were surprised when we got our bill that exceptional customer service was not worth the $27.00 the dish cost. Nothing. Unfortunately, the dish was not good and the service did not help excuse the situation.
Outstanding local Italian restaurant with an extensive menu of wonderfully prepared items.
A real find.........you can even carry on a conversation.
Great food, great service A gem. Sending our friend.
The food was as always outstanding. We flew in from out of town that day and had to deal with delays. They were super accommodating and held our reservation for over an hour!!
Amazing food. We can’t wait to go back and try other dishes.
Neighborhood Jem !!
Good food, attentive service.
I shall come back to dine again.
The service is amazing, the food is so good, please go and try the trofie pasta
83 1/2 has excellent food and an extensive list of Italian wines.
Excellent and varied Italian with interesting yet approachable food. Small room so best for max of fours
Food quality was good but diminished by the ambiance. The seating was very tight, and we unfortunately were sitting next to another patron who was talking loudly and who insisted on blowing his nose in the restaurant's cloth napkin several times. The air conditioning for August was a bit lacking.
Excellent food- great service.
Delicious food, excellent service. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes.
Went here last night and all the reviews are right. The UES can be quite a foodie desert but here's a place with delicious food and plentiful portions that didn't break $50 a head for appetizer, pasta, shared dessert, and wine. We had the following and recommend them all: insalate cavolo, brussels sprouts, pappardelle al ragu d'anatra, trofie pasta, cremisu (a tiramisu topped with nutella, genius). The pasta portions were so large we took home half and look forward to having them tonight.
A popular neighborhood restaurant. Worth a visit. Unfortunately, the Air Conditioning wasn't working very well on what was one of the warmest nights of the Summer so far.
I have been twice at 83 1/2 and both have eaten amazingly. For an Italian person, it's not easy to eat in New York. Too many personal interpretations of recipes that, instead, would be simple to prepare, such as the polenta with mushrooms or the involtino di burrata which were a positive surprise here.
We were very satisfied and by the end of the meal, we were planning our next visit.
Very good little restaurant. Food was amazing and service was great.
I met my sister for dinner tonight , the food was delicious and service great !
Great neighborhood find! Could absolutely be a destination restaurant!
Lovely burata/tomato/avocado Tru color appetizer
Great fresh food with good service! Seating is a little tight but food and service make up for it!!
Great neighborhood restaurant on Upper Eastside. It's small and intimate and the noise level is moderate.
We’ve been coming here 2-3 times a month since we first found it a few years ago. It takes a lot to impress me, especially since my wife is Italian and a fantastic cook. We’ve tried many of their main courses, and their pastas, and desserts. You cannot find better prepared traditional dishes anywhere. We’ve been to Italy many times, and the food here is better than 90% of the places we’ve eaten in Italy. Whatever you order, you’ll enjoy. They have a huge selection of wines by the bottle at excellent prices. The best tiramisu and cannolis we’ve ever had. Ps. If you prefer to bring your own bottle of wine, there’s no corkage fee in Weds. and Thurs. for BYOB!
Wow! I walk by this restaurant every day on my commute and I finally tried it. I am so glad I did!! It was my dad’s first time in the city. We had the lasagna and casarecce. Both were excellent! The tiramisu was a nice ending to the dinner. I will definitely be back again soon!
The food is delicious and plentiful. We always enjoy the BYOB Wednesday’s.
One caveat is that the menu never changeS so it’s a downside.
I would highly recommend this restaurant.
A neighborhood gem. Very caring in service. Excellent quality of food.
Great cocktails, super friendly service, and EXCELLENT food! This was our first visit, and we’ve already talked about going back. The restaurant is small, feels very intimate, and it appears that all tables got a lot of attention. You won’t be disappointed.
We had a pretty decent meal and the service was great. Really liked the ambiance as well. Will definitely be back.
It was a quiet night but everything was delicious and service was impeccable!
Lovely family run. Good food, the fish was very fresh. Pleasant because if you go with friends conversation is easy and not yelling over noise.
