Josh was a fantastic server. He went above and beyond to make our experience at 82 Queen special. The She Crab Soup was AMAZING! I've lived in Charleston for 25+ years and this is my favorite restaurant by far! Thank you Josh for making our meal so memorable!
Good food and service. Attractive setting and convenient to major activities
The soup was very salty. Heirloom tomato and cucumber salad was ordinary cherry tomato instead of the delicious juicy slices. Coconut curry whole snapper was rubberized and tasteless. We can't even cut through the skin. However, staff were kind to comp dinner and we just paid for our drinks. Have to tip waiter well as he lost his deal on our table:(
Our waiter Ian provided outstanding service and was very attentive. We recommend him to all. The food was very good, and the ambiance, classic Charleston.
Great food and service. The courtyard was beautiful for a delicious brunch
Had a great supper at 82 Queen. My boyfriend had the jambalaya and I had the fish and grits, both were very tasty. We also started with the infamous she crab soup. Very creamy. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert but I certainly recommend this restaurant!
This is our favorite restaurant in Charleston. We always eat there when visiting . Service, cuisine, ambience are all outstanding.
Food at 82 is always wonderful! Great with friends and quiet so you can chat.
This was a disappointing experience despite the hype. Our food came out lukewarm. We sent it all back, and fifteen minutes our original plates were returned, everything having been microwaved. Gimme a break. We will never go there again, or recommend it to anyone.
My husband and I enjoyed a terrific lunch for our anniversary. The service is excellent and the She Crab soup is worth every calorie. Whenever possible, we sit on the patio. It's really quite pretty.
This restaurant is in a beautiful setting but I was disappointed to be seated in the far back brightly lit patio facing the kitchen. The service, food and a nightcap at the indoor bar made up for it!
The food was good. But the hostess was quite rude (I presume because we were tourists) and our waiter was neglectful. Evenings were much more pleasant dining at other Charleston restaurants where the food was comparable, if not better.
The food was wonderful. The pickled vegetable appetizer was most delicious. I would highly recommend 82 Queen.
This was a painful dinner. They called the day before to confirm and texted us twice before dinner as a reminder. This set up the fastest table turn I can remember. They had us in and out in 45 minutes for a mediocre dinner in a sterile room with three other tables. Overall, 82 Queen was a lousy experience and not remotely worth the $.
We were treated like royalty Everyone from the hostess bar tender server and manager we outstanding and the food was amazing!
We really appreciate everyone making our evening so special ❤
This was every bit as good as the reviews suggested it would be. We were there on a fairly cool evening so nobody was eating outside. Our table indoors was quite nice and reasonably quiet (once we asked to be moved away from a table that had a speaker directly over it. The She Crab soup was among the best soups I have ever eaten. Not to be missed. It is a favorite here for good reason. I had the Jambalaya which was fantastic. Perfectly spiced. My wife had the barbecued shrimp and grits which was also outstanding. The service was excellent. I highly recommend to anyone who wants outstanding food in Charleston.
Long walk with stairs to table in an added on part of restaurant. Felt old without ambiance. It was drafty. Server was very nice and did a great job! I ordered a filet to be cooked medium rare. It was a bit more done than medium. Very tough, didn't have the texture of a filet. Server was eager to fix this problem and the next steak was prepared at the correct temperature. My wife had the barbecue shrimp and grits and said they were so sweet, she could barely eat them. Personal preference I'm sure, but having lived here all of my life, I've had many variations of this dish and never not liked them. We chose this restaurant for its historic reputation and were very disappointed that it wasn't more authentic and that they would make such mistakes after many years of being opened and on a night like Valentine's Day.
Our server Nico was great. Food was very good. Only disappointment was that on a quiet evening, not very busy, we were seated next to the server station in a small dining room with several open tables. As part of our reservation I had indicated we were celebrating a special occasion.
My husband had a Sunday Brunch for Valentines Day. It was wonderful. We had a window seat and it was very nice looking into the courtyard. Food was terrific and our server Talisha was the best.
Brunch was delightful. The crab bisque is devine as well as the miniature buttermilk biscuits. Especially enjoyed the barbecue shrimp and grits. Yummy. This item has been on the menu since the restaurant was established. I can understand why. Very unusual flavors with sweet slightly spicy tones. The Bloody Mary was a killer. Very enjoyable!!! This is our second visit and will be returning.
We had a wonderful Valentine's dinner. The service was very attentive and prompt. There was even a slight rock to our table due to the antique floors. The waiter was under there w/ shims to balance it out immediately. We split the fried oyster pimento mac & cheese as an appetizer. The oysters were perfect. My GF had the fried fish and grits. Very good. I had the chicken bog. A good mark of a restaurant is how well they can elevate a simple dish. What would have been a bland chicken and rice casserole at most places was prepared to a level I would have to say was one of the best chicken dishes I've ever tasted at anywhere. The atmosphere was entrancing. Walking down the seemingly deserted alley as it's transformed into a magically lit courtyard. And with 11 small dinning rooms, surrounding it, it kept a very quaint, homey feel from another time.
excellent all around.....attentive service from all great menu food was excellent
This was our second visit, 6 months later, so a different experience. The first was in late summer, we dined outside and it was lovely. This evening we were inside, in a cozy dining room with only four tables. We loved the ambiance of both. The food both meals was excellent, but tonight one of our party got the "Fish and Grits," which the manager told us has only been in the past two seasonal menus. It was truly the best fried flounder I've ever tasted. We also had Barbeque shrimp and grits, the mussels in a yummy garlic broth and chicken breast with ravioli, spinach and butternut squash. All four entrees were delicious. Somehow the one appetizer we ordered didn't make it out before our main courses, which I mentioned to the person who served us (not our main waiter)--within a minute, a manager was at our table to apologize and offer us complimentary desserts. He also came back several times during our meal to check on us, which I felt was not expected but definitely appreciated.
82 Queen is a really lovely restaurant and would be our "special occasion" choice if we lived here!
Beautiful garden setting for al fresco dining on a nice day!!!! Food was very good. The server was very nice and efficient. The wait for food was unusually long though and the wine list was only fair and pricey for what you get. Overall, a very enjoyable evening.
Good Southern cooking in a historic house with the option for outdoor dining in the courtyard.
We had wonderful service from Sarah and our meals were delicious!
Our waitress Victoria was fantastic. Great service. The food was incredible. The She Crab Soup is a must. We thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits and Jambalaya. Good wine list, too. Cannot wait to visit again.
This restaurant had the best crab cakes of any we had during our trip. Obviously made in the restaurant, they were incredible. The She Crab Soup was amazing and if you are adventurous, try the Tomato Pie.I am a huge bread pudding fan and that happened to be their dessert special the night we were there - some of the best I've had. The highest complement that can be given to a restaurant is that folks will go back - we will definitely go back again.
We would be remiss if we didn't tell you about the Bloody Mary... It was so good, we went back the next afternoon to get another during happy hour at the bar.
There were problems in the kitchen that made our food very late
As usual an excellent meal. The she crab soup was delicious as usual and the crab cakes were superb!!
Stopped in here on a lunch recommendation from one of the local retailers. What a great recommendation it was.
Had a stellar Experience for lunch at this restaurant. Our server Talicia (spell?) was amazing and extremely knowledgeable of the food. Had a chicken salad and the ingredients were so fresh and tasty.
Not too pricey for the value. Delicious Bloody Mary.
Highly recommend the restaurant.
In my opinion, this menu could focus more on fine dining given the price. For a place in such a nice area and the cost, you shouldn't have shrimp and grits or chicken bog on the menu. That's garbage that is sold at every tourist restaurant downtown. I am sure it works for out of town folks, but it was very disappointing to see.
many of the wait staff were underdressed, with the exception of the manager.
Not only was the food spot on (fried green tomatoes!) but I found our server's knowledge and personality a welcome enhancement to the evening. I asked for recommendations and she pointed things out explaining to me why I'd enjoy each of them based on the preferences I gave her. She was attentive enough that we didn't feel overlooked but distant enough that we were able to enjoy date night with a good sense of privacy.
Atmosphere was also quite enjoyable. We intend to go back when it's warmer to try new food and sit outside.
Delicious selection, great wine & drinks, fabulous service. A definite must try!
Very nice place. The service was awesome
82 Queen is always great. Our server (wish I could remember his name) was especially good. He was attentive, but not too much so.
great visit with the love , I ordered shrimp and grits , however the grits were very dry and not hot when served. great place
Great place to take visitors or with your honey.
Loved the ultimate Bloody Mary and southern picking platter!
Our waitress was excellent and certainly knew the menu. She helped pair the best wine with our meals and overall was very attentive.
