A little disappointed but a nice night out. Service great. Salad dressing on the wedge was not my taste. The scallops were over powered by the bacon and mushrooms

Food did not meet expectations. Great atmosphere but there were lots of gnats around. Oysters were spectacular, but cocktail sauce needed more spice.

This was my first time eating inside a restaurant since March 2020. The food was wonderful and staff very accomodating and personable! We noticed that none of the waiters wore masks, so we asked casually if all the staff was vaccinated. We were told that they were not allowed to discuss that. That made me a little nervous, because it sounded as if they were trying to hide something. Other than that, it was a great evening!

What a wonderful dining experience. First of all the restaurant is beautiful, which adds to the overall adventure. The fish and preparation is creative and excellent.
We had the Chilean Sea bass and the striped bass. We ventured to dessert and tasted the 801 take on Baked Alaska! Scrumptious! We visit STL often and will return to 801.

Really cool ambience and the food was incredible. Great variety of seafood dishes from raw bar and apps to entrees. Try the Chilean sea bass and Atlantic swordfish over bouillabaisse! They're "close your eyes" good. The service was great, too - they gave us "Happy Anniversary" menus and offered us a complimentary dessert to help us celebrate.

Was my second visit to 801 Fish. Had two colleagues there for dinner. The food, service, and attention to detail are all outstanding. Highly recommend Sea Bass!

Nothing negative about 801! Will definitely go back when in there area.

In my opinion the Ciappino wasn’t fit to eat. It tasted like it had been made with pasta sauce - much too thick. I found 8 mussels, 1 clam, 2 shrimp that were so overcooked they were tough as shoe leather, and 1 scollop. I made the mistake of letting them ad linguine and that was mostly what the dish contained. I’ve had ciappino at fine restaurants all across the US and this didn’t come close. I consider the amount of seafood unacceptable. The sauce was poorly flavored. The waitperson brought a substitute dish of scollops which were undercooked. At that point all we wanted to do was finish and get out. Nicki, our wait staff was excellent. She was attentive, knowledgeable and was the best part of the dinner. Definitely not worth the price.

For the amount one spends, it is not worth it. Hard bread, unseasoned food and waitress took our to go food to back and it was thrown away. Horrible experience.

We asked to be seated away from other people and they were accommodating. HUGE delay getting our entrée. Brussel spouts were charred way beyond necessary. Baked Alaska wasn't worth it.

Very nice place. Inviting atmosphere. Service was great. Food some Great/Good. Some items were fantastic; Crab cake & Sea Bass, others were good Clam Chowder and Salmon. Would defiantly come back to try other items on the menu. For sure a great place for good seafood in St. Louis.

This was our first time at 801 Fish and It might be our last time. The food was delicious and came out quickly! Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. The hostess was rude and the bar tender was inattentive. Several parties were seated ahead of us despite arriving after us. We sat at the bar and waited several minutes before being approached, then we order our drinks and waited some more. The bar wasn’t busy, the bar tender was too busy socializing to make our order. When I inquired with the hostess with long dark hair she snidely replied we have several reservations. The front of the house needs customer service training.

Ask for Kianna as your waitress - she is amazing! The side of risotto with lobster meat is to die for. If you haven't dined here before they have an extraordinary wine list.

From the minute we walked into the mostly empty restaurant ( it was 6:30). The hostess (with no mask) greeted us and then chose to take a call and have a 3 min conversation while we stood waiting at the door.
It was an anniversary dinner which they acknowledged with a heading on the menu ( yippie). We started off with 10 oysters that were good but the accompaniments of horseradish, a vinaigrette and cocktail sauce were set up top in the most minuscule ramicans. The cocktail sauce was literally tomato paste. Not enough for 10 oysters and awkward to spoon out. We ordered several items to split: the special beet and goat cheese salad with candied nuts which was the most embarrassing excuse for a salad I’ve seen ( being a chef, I’ve seen it all). Three slivers of beets which were sliced on a mandolin paper thin, two crumbles of goat cheese, barley detectable dressing-looked completely dry but I tasted a hint of something and no nuts. We asked them to split these plates and she seemed to understand what that meant but you’d think the chef would. Maybe because there were only 3 slices it would’ve been too embarrassing so we had to reach across the table eating off each others plates at 801 fish?! The clam gumbo was extremely thick, condensed. It came with a tiny clam in shell that was barely visible to the naked eye and couldn’t be pulled out unless you used your finger. Lastly was the Scallops with Chanterelle mushrooms and cauliflower purée. This they decided to split on two plates but it was so intense, salty and the cauliflower was burnt so bitter and neither of us could’ve eaten more than our portion.
When you hear an entree served with a veg and starch you assume the starch ( purée) is going to be an accompaniment, not a garnish smeared on the bottom of the plate. Drinks were not refilled until we placed at the end of the table. We will not be returning.

We all know that the service industry is going through a challenging time and while the wait staff obviously know what they are doing and have the foundation to provide an amazing experience, the reality is that they seem to be less than enthused to be there. The food was amazing!! The whiskey & wine list was great (although in my opinion, a bit overpriced), but once the 801 team remembers what they have to offer and the public returns to appreciating their efforts, 801 Fish will return to being a more complete dining experience and worthy of my hard earned money. But, when the waitstaff doesn’t echo the rest of the vibe, the final experience is less than what it should be. Hoping this is a short lived challenge for the industry and although we still tipped 20%, as a family that grew up in and was very successful in the business, 20% is by far the least we have tipped in many years. Attitude and effort can go a long way - and while no one was truly rude, they just didn’t seem to give a damn and that is sad, for them and their clients. Good luck.

Even when finding the valet may be a little tricky, the restaurant decoration is beautiful, the hostess is very nice and kind, and the waitresses are also very nice and friendly, now … the food is from another level, it’s delicious
