Celebrating 15 yr Anniversary. Excellent dining experience adding to a memorable evening. Looking forward to our next dining opportunity visit!
We went for an anniversary dinner. Started with a drink at the bar which was fantastic. My husband said their bourbon list is very impressive. Dinner was wonderful. Highly recommend the scallops. We both had filet and it was wonderful. Soufflés were also a great way to end the dinner. Great time and we will definitely be back!
Everything exceeded our expectations! The only thing I’d recommend is risking a little more light during dinner hours. I’m 36 with great eyesight yet it was difficult to read the menu ( which was printed to commemorate our 4yr anniversary 😍)
Food was excellent. Great place for a really nice dinner. Delicious deserts.
Excellent in every way.
What an amazing restaurant. Everyone friendly and service was outstanding. Tim at the bar was awesome and helpful with wine and bourbon selections. Carlos was an excellent server and so very accommodating when we emives tables.
The pork chop was perfectly cooked and the hash brown was as good as everyone said. Amazing wine list! Cannot wait to go back. Love the artwork too!
We went for our anniversary on a Saturday night. We had the mussels as an appetizer, and we often eat mussels, they were phenomenal! Most restaurants use too much garlic, but these were perfect. We then split a bone in filet. It was very good. We eat a lot of filet and this was good. We got it prepared Oscar style —this was okay—have had Oscar style preparations. For dessert we had the Alaskan something. It was an orange homemade frozen custard covered in a toasted merengue — it was absolutely amazing!!! One of my favorite desserts ever! The dessert chef is awesome! Our service was great. Ambiance is ok. Basic nice steakhouse ambience. Overall we were very impressed! We will be back for sure.
My husband and I dined here before The Muny and because we had a gift card. Started off good. Our server was attentive and described the menu in depth. However, as soon as more tables were filling up, he became scarce. I always order my meat medium but this was very rare. Manager sent back for me. It was better - at least it was hot finally. Husband had to find our server to get check. If we hadn’t had a gift card we would have been more upset. They are extremely expensive and I feel there are better steak houses in town.
Great steak service was good and attentive, but waitresses lacked in friendliness and personality but don't let that deter you from going because the food is just that good
food was outstanding. I would go back again. I do not like the restriction that Open Table puts on reviews but that has nothing to do with how much I enjoyed the restaurant. Food was delicious
Dinner was good, however we've had better dining experiences at 801s in other cities. To compete with them this location needs to address the noise situation. Throughout the entire 2 hours we had nonstop dishes clattering from somewhere in the back and it was LOUD. 7 on a 1-10 scale loud. It worth mentioning the wife's ribeye cut was uneven resulting in a well done third on a steak that was supposed to be medium-rare. We took that part home for the dog.
Brett was a fantastic server. He guided us through our dinner from start to finish with expertise. I love the team work at 801. Everyone makes you feel welcome and special. The food was excellent as always.
All three of our steaks were under cooked. The service that evening was very slow. We have eaten at this restaurant several times and have always had excellent service with the steaks being properly cooked. I will go back because I am hoping it was because it was mothers day and they were crowded.
We went for Mother's Day and ordered on the Sunday Prefix menu. The food was great and we had 2 bottles of wine. Unfortunately, I felt like our waiter somewhat treated us like 2nd class citizens from ordering off the prefix menu (3 courses for $36). He never checked to see how our food was, asked for more bread never got it and was taking a LONG time to bring our 2nd bottle of wine. They were busy - but NOT that busy. Loved the filet mignon.
We were not particularly pleased with the service, food took too long and meat was over cooked. On the positive side, they cook it again for my wife.
We went in a busy day (Mother’s Day); I may try again in a less busy day.
The music is way too loud. The food and service is exceptional!
What an absolute amazing experience. My wife and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and when I made the reservation I requested flowers. A little mis understanding because The customer is to supply the flowers and they will put them out for you, the hostess talked to her manager and said let me see what we can do. I was thinking OK maybe they will comp us a free glass of champagne or something.. But wow, they actually went out somewhere, bought us a huge thing of flowers AND gave us a FREE bottle of Champagne!!! Unbelievable experience, I highly recommend everyone going here for an amazing meal and to be around amazing people. Thanks so much guys!!
Fantastic service, ambiance and food! The medallions were amazing. They were able to accommodate my clean eating.
We have celebrated a number of happy occasions at 801 Chophouse, including my daughter's graduation, my husband's birthday and achievements of both of our children.
The food is consistently excellent and the service and atmosphere are always very good.
We look forward to dining here again when we return to St. Louis.
Great service.... wasn’t impressed with the food ..
Food was exceptional. I had mussels which I have had at several restaurants lately and these were the best by far.
The steak was perfect.
The service was spectacular.
This is now my favorite steakhouse in St. Louis
Everyone in our party absolutely loved everything about 801 Chophouse! The food is immensely flavorful, drinks were wonderful, ambiance was warm and welcoming, service was excellent!
I absolutely adore the atmosphere! I had an awesome time celebrating my birthday 🎂 dinner in the restaurant:) Our waitress Andrea was so sweet and attentive to our fickle decisions lol. Considering the fact it was my first visit, it surely won’t be my last. The ambiance was completely breathtaking and romantic. My honey 🍯 made it extra special and enjoyable along, with the staff 😉 Keep up the magnificent job! 801 “ROCK”👍🏿😘
Top shelf service and absolutely delicious entrées and appetizers. The restaurant is not cheap but it is a great location for business, a great date, or any special occasion. Definitely a topic for St. Louis.
The server was rude and very dismissive. Lee will never receive another gratuity from me or anyone in my party ever again.
Celebrating a birthday.
I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the US and some of the great restaurants around the world. 801 Chophouse in St. Louis serves the best steak I’ve ever had. The service and overall experience is second to none. Tonight, the bone-in strip was the feature. Absolutely out of this world.
A MUST visit every time I am in St. Louis. One of the best steakhouses in the country. Great beef and raw bar, wine list, atmosphere, and service.
The food was great, albeit pricey. Bob is an excellent waiter. Don't skip dessert, try the soufle.
Went for the $36 SUnday dinner special. I think this is a great value. I ordered the prime rib and it was fantastic. The dinner came with salad, desert and vegtables. Everything was very good, as was the service. Wines by the glass can be pricy.
Great place!!!! Prices a little high. Food excellent.
The food was ok, but way overpriced. Appetizer portions were good, but won't eat here again.
Food and service were both good. Basically, a good steakhouse with very nice ambiance!
This reservation was my son to help celebrate his cousin's 21st birthday with some fellow classmates from WashU. Unfortunately for them the dining experience was not acceptable. I'm not sure if it was their age and/or race since they didn't fit the restaurant's typical demographics but the female server was downright rude to them. She argued over a glass of champagne that was contaminated when the waitstaff dropped a fork into the glass - she insisted it had been replaced with a new glass when it was actually the water that was replaced. The manager gracefully came over to apologize and comp the champagne but it an unnecessary incident. The four men said the food was fine but the service was terrible overall. Even though it was specifically stated that this was a birthday celebration there was no complementary dessert offered which is standard for this restaurant. What a disappointment when you think you're going out for a special celebration and get treated so shabbily. And to pay $300-$400 for it too! In their 3 years in St. Louis for college this is the first establishment that they have felt unwelcome in. I hope the manager learns from this experience- their staff needs better training to offer good service to ALL their customers.
Very nice. Top restaurant in stl alittle pricey but great experience.
Food was outstanding and our server Colleen was very nice and on point all night. Great person and took great care of us. Loved our experience!
As usual, the meal was fantastic! The service is always phenomenal and this time didn't disappoint. The food is worth the price and we highly recommend the bone marrow butter bath on your steak - it takes it over the top!
Not a top notch stake house
