801 Chophouse - St. Louis
First time here. Excellent meal. Excellent service. Restaurant is fitted and decorated perfectly.
Not the #1 steak dinner I have had but certainly in top 10. Prices are a great value.
My husband and I were served our steaks cooked wrong. Then they served me the wrong steak!! Then they delivered our steaks when the 6 people were completely finished!!
An excellent choice if you're looking for exceptional service and high quality beef. The Bone-In Ribeye was excellent. I will definitely return again and would highly recommend giving this chop house an opportunity.
As always, 801 Chophouse did not disappoint. From the amazing service to the perfectly cooked steak, we could not have been happier. Then, since we were celebrating my husband's birthday, they brought us a chocolate soufflé with vanilla crème, chocolate sauce and mixed berry compote.
Best service around. Food and wine list are top notch.
Highly recommend for business meals. Ask about private dining.
Not worth what they charge
Carlos our waiter along with teh rest of the staff were excellent.
Yes best dining experience i have had in a long time.
The food was delicious, the service was great, the staff was friendly and everyone greeted us with a smile! What more can I say?? I did think the room was a little dark, but that was ok with us.
It's not often these days when you are greeted by the last of the professional servers...often male, mature and accommodating - treating you as they would expect to be treated had the situation been reversed. My date and I were treated incredibly well by Denny (no, not McLain for you baseball aficionado's out there). The only issue was the family with a conceivably newborn baby out at 9:00 pm on a Saturday that shattered the ambiance from time to time.
Birthday! Beautiful hand written chocolate on the dessert was fabulous!!
The food and service was beyond excellent! I will definitely be going back!!
Had folks in from out of town for a nice business meal. Overall it was good, but the service was a bit strange. Not to complain, but it didn’t flow very well, our waiter felt scrambled.
Food was good, but even the servers we’re aloof. All a bit odd.
I’m sure we will be back.
Best steaks in town. Unbelievable wine list. If you want to impress you clients bring them to 801 chophouse and ask for Dave when you make your reservations. You won’t regret it.
We had a pleasant surprise with the Sunday dinner special. The food was excellent, as was the service and the value was unbelievable. We will definitely return.
We were a party of 8. Our server was good but felt like he was over sat. You could tell he was in a rush, but he did a good job compensating for it. It was very noisy and our food was over salted. For the price everything should be excellent. I’ll go back and give it a try.
The space is very nice but acoustics are not great. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive and nice and the best part of the experience. The wine list is out of whack with the price of restaurant. It’s not a Michelin rated restaurant as far as I know and there were very few wines priced below a hundred dollars. The crab cake appetizer was quite nice. The 801 wedge salad was also very good. The prime rib was disappointing. At this price point it should be seasoned appropriately but was lacking flavor. The ribeye was ok but not as special as it should have been. The hash browns with cheddar were excellent! All in all it was pleasant but not worth the expense.
Quiet location for 6 pm reservation. Great salads, salmon and vegetables!
Service was excellent! Our server was very nice a d professional! Food was delicious, Will definitely be returning.
The food was spectacular as always, and the ambiance of the restaurant is great as well.
The best experience I have ever had at any restaurant!!!!!
The food was fantastic. This was our first time dining here. Our server didn't introduce himself and was very short with answers. I had advised through OT that we were celebrating an anniversary and I have a severe shellfish allergy. Neither were acknowledged. I can totally forgive the anniversary, because it's our anniversary and really who cares besides us. But we ordered the beef carpaccio and I asked if there was any possibility that it would come into contact with or have same prepares as other possible seafood items, such as pans, garnish, sauce.. He said, uh, no its beef? So thanks for that, but I have to be cautious. Just really rubbed us the wrong way and pretty much same attitude when I ordered my entrée. Again, I have to be sure they are aware of my allergy. He acted annoyed with us most of the evening with little time spent checking on us and tending to our table. For the price, I wouldn't expect to have to ask for drink refills, specials, and what they are known for as far as dinner/app choice, especially for a new diner at this establishment.
Everything was very good! We enjoyed the whole dining experience!
Food was very good. Waiter did not act friendly. We took some leftover home but they didn’t pack them for us.
I’ve been several times and it never disappoints! This time my husband and I both tried non steak dishes because of Lent. The scallops were to die for and his crab legs were delicious!! The chophouse salad is always a must!! Dave is always my server! He’s the best. And the manager Jake checked on us several times and made us feel very welcome. Keep up the great work!
Worth every penny when you want to treat yourself!
Everything was phenomenal. Highly recommended.
Food was excellent!! Pricey but I will go back. They are willing to alter ingredients to suit personal preferences and allergies.
The food quality and preparation was excellent, many selections to choose from. However, the server struggled with our payment. We asked for separate checks but instead, he split the total cost between the 3 of us. The valet parking was also chaotic. It was very disorganized and we wait 20+ minutes for them to retrieve our vehicle.
A split decision. The companion's meal was superb. A beautiful 8 ounce filet, done to perfection. On the other hand, my 12 ounce strip was about seven ounces of meat and five ounces of fat and mostly gristle. It was also overcooked. The sides were large and were satisfactory, although they seemed a bit over-done as well. For the price, you don't want a strip steak that was far inferior to Tucker's.
Our 1st time visiting and we truly enjoyed our experience. We looked forward to dining again soon.
Very pricy but best steak I have ever had. Great service to
Carlos is an awesome part of the staff. He takes great care of us. The food is always top notch! Well done!
The experience started off with a friendly greeting from the valet staff. Upon entering we were met with a warm greeting from the greeters. Our server informed us that we were in for a treat. The food was awesome, the service was exceptional & our anniversary was topped off with a delicious desert!!!
Our server Haven was excellent.
She knew the menu and suggested choices for our group which included two teenagers.
Our waitress was wonderful. The food was outrageously fantastic. Lobster or shrimp, steak and the desserts were out of this world. You must visit if not for an anniversary or birthday, a quiet enjoyable evening out for two.
The food and service was very good.
It was however very noisy...music was playing that seemed inappropriate for the setting...but that being said I would go back.
Slightly overrated in my opinion. Steaks/veal chop was alright at best, appetizers were real hit and miss. Lobster Mac was very good. Service was fine but kind of overbearing.
Nick is an excellent server!
