801 Chophouse Leawood Ratings and Reviews
I would LOVE to eat at this restaurant again. The service and the food we're both outstanding. The prices, however, will make it a less desirable choice. We shared an appetizer, then ordered 2 steaks, 2 sides and 2 drinks and it was the most expensive meal for 2 we've ever purchased, ever. Probably double. BUT...It was an excellent meal.
Ordered the bone in delmonico. Steak was prepared correctly. We have ordered this steak in the past which was awesome. This time the steak was not up to your standard. It was on the tough side with more grisel than normal. We also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese which was not as creamy as usual and was on the salty side and a bit dry. The wedge salad was perfect as were the cocktails and wine. The highlight of the dinner was the soufflé. Our waitress Molly did a great job. We will return as usual.
Great food along with excellent service! My wife had the scallops and they were prepared perfectly, I ordered the porterhouse rare. Sides were excellent, creamed spinach and hash browns with cheese.
Rob was are server. We were wanting a relaxing evening and took our time through the various courses. Rob was there when needed and did an outstanding job with just the right amount of attention. We recommend this establishment and especially Rob. Thanks for the great experience Rob.
Rob was our server. He was very helpful and provided several beneficial tips on wine and food pairing. He is definitely on top of the game. Be sure to request his service if possible. The food as always was excellent. The calamari is some of the best in town. The jumbo shrimp cocktail was amazing and the steaks were well prepared with a marvelous taste. We had ribeye, strip and filet. All were done to perfection.
801 Chophouse lives up to its reputation. It is a classiy establishment with excellent food and drink. The staff is also thoughtful, helpful, and kind. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone else looking for a great dinimg experience.
My husband and I chose 801 Chophouse to celebrate his successful doctoral dissertation defense. We were looking for a quiet, upscale place with fantastic ambiance and amazing food, and I can comfortably say all of our expectations were met! We'll certainly be back for future celebrations!
Everything was perfect from beginning to end. Rob and Bailey were spot on with their cocktail suggestions. Tell Rob your likes and dislikes and he will guide you to the best choices throughout the menu. Steaks were perfectly cooked and the sides were amazing. Soufflé was the perfect way to end the evening.
Both the filet and ribeye were fantastic. I'd also highly recommend the 801 salad(it has a poached egg and pork belly on it!!) and the scalloped potatoes. If you are lucky enough to get Rob as your server he will ensure you have a fabulous time. He is extremely personable, and QUITE hilarious if you have a good sense of humor. In fact, you should really ask for Rob(Unverferth) if given the option. We will definitely be back. Thanks Rob!!
Sincerely, David and Jenni Nguyen
We took our son for a birthday dinner. Seafood (oysters & shrimp) was all great, but we had to send the steak back twice because it was very rare. We ordered Med-rare and it was nowhere near that. My husband got a glass of Woodford Reserve, which was a very small pour and each glass cost $19 EACH. We were shocked when we saw on the bill that it said "Woodfrod" for $19 as if it were just typed in. Not the type of food or service we expected when the bill was $349 for 3 of us. It will be hard to come back because this is the second disappointing experience we have had.
Happy hour options were really good
My husband's steak had to b sent back and re cooked
Brussels sprouts were not crispy at all and kind of tasteless. Baked potatoes not fluffy inside. My filet was very good. Service was excellent. I think things r slipping foidwise. This is a very expensive restaurant to not b consistent and perfect!!!
Dinner was outstanding. Family style sides are perfect for splitting . Service was outstanding, our waiter was fantastic. Knowledgeable, personable, not too pesky, but always available and made great suggestions. It was our anniversary and they had the table decorated for us along with comping our dessert. Made for a great evening.
Rob treated us like old friends, he made sure we were familiar with our orders and gave us a familiar atmosphere that allowed us to feel comfortable in our orders. The food was fantastic, with a whole spectrum of flavors, which was noticeable from the appetizers all the way to the desserts. We will definitely be coming back again.
Almost, but not quite. While our overall experience for this first time visit, whic was nice and we had a terrific, knowledgeable server, there were some missing pieces, especially when considering the high price points of the menu, in comparison to like restaurants. For example, there did not appear to be a dedicated bus staff so I noticed that as nearby tables vacated, they sat untouched with dirty dishes and glassware remaining on the table for our entire dinner. Another server brought our entrees, without speaking a word, and walking away before we could tell him that we were missing a steak knife. We had to share a steak knife until our primary server returned. He made it right and brought a complimentary glass of wine for each of us (love that touch!). The food is good, ambiance is terrific therefore my comments are related solely to the little things...that competitors do better. But that will not deter us from returning. And, I am told they participate with Groupon so watch for deals otherwise, it is expensive to dine here.
The food at 801 is famous in it's own right, but the service that we received from Chico was beyond the pale! We will always request his table and feel that we were treated to a first class experience! He made our special occasion that much more special!
