Went during Resturant Week. Excellent steak but small in size compared to those on the regular menu.

Came for restaurant week with 6 people, including a 5 yr. and 8 month old kids. Some of the best service I’ve ever received at any restaurant. Very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely be back again!

We knew that this restaurant was quite expensive so chose to go during KC Restaurant Week and select from the special menu. The food was excellent and the service was very good. The meat portions were fairly generous but he sides were small. On the regular menu, everything is ala carte, so you can run up the bill really fast as the sides are pricey. The restaurant was a bit noisy for our taste, but we do like quiet places. The wine list is extensive, but VERY OVERPRICED. There is nothing on the wine list under $50 and most wines are at least $100 or more. The markup on the wines is excessive, compared to other restaurants we frequent. We ended up ordering a bottle of wine that cost $65 at this restaurant and that I know costs $20-25 in a store. It is a good wine and we enjoyed it with our meal. I don’t mind a reasonable mark up for the establishment, but over 100% markup is excessive. They do allow you to bring in your own wine and they will charge a $25 corkage fee. I highly recommend this option-you will save a lot of money! This is an excellent restaurant and has some things on their menu that I don’t find anywhere else. We may return to try a few of the unique items, but for a regular steak dinner, there are other places that are just as good and not nearly as expensive.

The food was great, the steaks are the best. Our waiter, Chris was wonderful. Taking my valet ticket and giving it to the valet was supreme(especially since the temp outside was near zero. Just a great time out with friends!

I feel the wine list is excellent, but markedly over priced. The food for Restaurant week wasn't quite as special as I would have expected from 801 Chophouse---I usually feel their food is exceptional. I also believe their corkage fee is excessive.

We dined during Restaurant Week so we could experience the food. We ordinarily wouldn’t dine there because of high prices. The good was delicious and the waiter was friendly and efficient.

I have never been disappointed with 801. The attention the servers give, the phenomenal menu of choices cooked to perfection, atmosphere, all high end and delightful.

Filet Mignon was not the best cut I've had. We were there for Restaurant Week and I felt like the portions were extremely small. I think overall the general menu was overpriced for what you got.

Very elegant. Staff professional and neat. We attended for a birthday dinner and restaurant week. Steak was cooked to protection. Can't wait to revisit.

This was my second time here and I am sad to say the second time ruined my first time when I had nothing but good things to say. Not sure if the customer service from the bar to our table was poor because it was restaurant week????

We dined here for restaurant week! Viorel Vida was our waiter. He was outstanding. He recommended the lamb and the lobster bites for appetizers to go with our meals. The lobster bites were out of this world. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Steaks were cooked to order and we were never made to feel like they were in a rush although the restaurant was packed when we left. Definitely recommend!

Went in expecting an awesome experience as it is Restaurant Week in Kansas City. When the food was served, my wife's steak was under cooked and my pork chop was dry, not juicy. The service was fine, but the premium prices that they charge here should dictate that the food come out of the kitchen prepared correctly. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

Excellent food in quiet elegance. Every element of the meal was well prepared from the highest quality ingredients. Filet was perfect medium rare, and super tender. Tomato bisque well seasoned, but not too spicey. Cheesecake good, standard fare. Creme brulee, on the other hand, superb, perfect carmelization of top.
Decor is old style club, but white table clothes and perfect service from knowledgable staff place it in the category of elegance.

I discovered this restaurant when a friend took me to dinner while she was on a business trip. We had a fabulous time and celebrated our long friendship surrounded by the dark wood, great service, and excellent wine.

Years later this spot would become a source of celebration with my children and parents- new houses, graduations, and anything BIG! If you'd like to have a lovely dinner with impeccable service and food, 801 Chophouse in Leawood is the place! Chris is a great waiter and instantly makes everyone comfortable. (Although Eric in the Omaha, NE location is a favorite person for me and my love!)

The steak presentation is wonderful and gives an idea on choices. I think we have tried every appetizer and loved them all with lobster bites a favorite. The salads are always fresh, and you can't beat the bacon on the wedge.

I've never been a big fan of additions to steak. However, I have to say that the bone marrow butter bath is perfection on top of the ribeye. Eric comped my first attempt, and I've been coming back for more ever since- smart sales man.

The house made sorbets never disappoint in the house of desserts. Enjoy!

(side note: My love and I celebrated a very special occaision this past weekend and noted it as such on Open Table. When we arrived, a special table had been set with a printed and personalized menu based on our celebration. Way to go! It's this type of service that always has me choosing 801 Chophouse in Leawood!)

We went for New Year’s eve dinner with the siblings and their spouses. Had a great time! Server was very nice, knowledgeable, and attentive. She never rushed us even though the restaurant was closed. Food was great! My husband loved their dry aged steak. Crab cakes were a little salty and my pasta was a little bland. But overall it was very enjoyable.

I wanted to like this place. For a steak house that charges 5 star prices you would think the steak would be top notch. Just average. Service was very good. Wine list was good too. I don’t think I would go back. Disappointed would be the best word to describe meal

Great steak house with a decent seafood menu as well. The steak, while high priced as expected, was very good, great cuts, prepared perfectly. The sides, while ala carte, are fairly big and good for 2 at least. The service is very good, knowledgeable server who also did a good job pacing our meal as we wanted. Overall a great experience again.

My husband I had a great lovely celebration ( 20th years anniversary) at 801 Chophouse. They made our table so special. Our server recommended us to try their Lobster bites for appetizer and I love it, was very delicious.
We celebrated our 20th year marriage and my being cancer free too. Thank you very much 801 for making our dinner date extra eapecial.

We originally were planning on going to the Plaza at another high end restaurant but made a last minute change to 801 Chop House. Three of us for dinner. Have to say we enjoyed the decor of the bar area and our first beverages.

Food was where our problems begin. Three different entrees and three different sides along with salads and soups. My wife had the Seafood Grill, the Lobster was over cooked, did tell the staff and another one was cooked. However the next one was just as tough as the first. She did say the scallops & crab legs were delicious. Our friend had ordered the 8 oz fillet cooked medium. In looking and her comments it was cooked medium. However the fillet had such a burnt char all over it wasn’t tasty. My dinner was the veal chop with the Portabella sauce, cooked medium rare. Personally it could have been cooked a tad bit longer. The disappointment was 1 Portabella mushroom in the sauce.

Then we were not offered dessert or coffee at the end.

My husband wanted to go here for his birthday in March but we weren’t able to at the time. So I made reservations for a nice date night this past Saturday. We sat at our table for several minutes with no waiter even greeting us, it wasn’t until my husband stopped someone and told them that we would like a waiter please then we received service. After the wait is when we received very good service from our server Chico. He made our experience at 801 Chophouse a very good dining experience and he is the reason why we would return. Thank you Chico !

Great place to go during the holidays. We requested seating at a booth in the bar with a great view of the lights and skating rink. Started off with yummy shrimp cocktail and slightly spicy delicious lobster corn chowder.
The prime rib cut was thick and juicy with a tasty aus jus reduction. Variety of cuts and sizes of steak . Many choices of shareable sides and we indulged in a creative dessert. Impressive wine list. Beautifully decorated tree in the entrance and floor to ceiling bar made for an inviting setting for a romantic dinner. Great service.

My wife and I celebrated our 22 year wedding anniversary. They followed the requested instructions that we wanted a booth and greeted us with a special personal menu noting our anniversary as a keepsake. The staff recognized our special occasion and made us feel valued. We even had a champagne toast compliments of the restaurant! We had Mike and Chico as our servers and they were awesome! Food and drink were fantastic! The only thing I would say is that it is really expensive! I guess you have to pay for perfection!! Overall an amazing evening and we will definitely be back!!!!!
